Hey everyone,I love thrillers of most genres, medical, archaeological, political, adventure.Richard Preston and Robin Cook are my favorite medical thriller authors, also love Dan Brown's work. Some of Mary Higgins Clark.
Not into "True Crime", or stalkers, serial killers, kidnapping, torture or abuse/harm to a child.
Does anyone have any suggestions for PG/PG13,especially PG for language and no graphic sex?PG13 violence ok.

Becky wrote: "I haven't seen the Dyan Cannon one, but I remember when it came out."I own a DVD of the Stanwyck version, but borrowed the Dyan Cannon one from my library, when I saw it on the rack.
Christmas in Connecticut w.Barbara Stanwyck has become a Christmas tradition for me and my oldest daughter, after catching it one year on TCM.I even enjoy the newer color version with Dyan Canonn.
Thanks to my SIL's recommending I check it out,I have a new Christmas romance favorite~ The Holiday... with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Jack Black, Eli WallachIn Nancy Meyers' The Holiday, a romantic comedy from the director of Something's Gotta Give and What Women Want, two women trade homes only to find that a change of address can change their lives. Iris (Winslet) is in love with a man who is about to marry another woman. Across the globe, Amanda (Diaz), realizes the man she lives with has been unfaithful. Two women who have never met and live 6000 miles apart, find themselves in the exact same place. They meet online at a home exchange website and impulsively switch homes for the holiday. Iris moves into Amanda's L.A. house in sunny California as Amanda arrives in the snow covered English countryside. Shortly after arriving at their destinations, both women find the last thing either wants or expects: a new romance. Amanda is charmed by Iris' handsome brother Graham (Law) and Iris, with inspiration provided by legendary screenwriter Arthur (Wallach), mends her heart when she meets film composer Miles (Black).
Hi Becky,Welcome to our group.I hope our bookshelf will give you several great titles to read, and best wishes with your writing!
I wasn't really able to get into 'Grimm' when I borrowed the first season's DVDs from my library, but I have definitely become hooked on "Charmed". Love how close the characters seem to be.
Ally wrote: "The Love Comes Softly moves are some of my favorites. Haven't read the books yet. Also, The Princess Bride, Pride and Prejudice, and Jane Eyre(though nothing beats the book!)."
Love all those plus "Sarah Plain & Tall, Skylark and Winter's End" of the Sarah Plain & Tall trilogy.
Also one of my favorites is another Hallmark film ~ The Magic Of Ordinary Days with Keri Russell, Skeet Ulrich, Mare Winningham

Tamara wrote: "me too!! I'm not a huge fan of these new Alpha males in romance novels where he's just so testosterone heavy that I can't possibly see how that relationship is going to work out. They're such oppo..."Yep, you said it so well,Tamara! It makes me sad how many romance authors are writing books where TSTL[TOO STUPID TO LIVE]females idolize a macho male who is a jerk!
Where are the smart females who have the strong "self-esteem" that they are no way so desperate that they would give such a guy any notice at all.
Are mothers today failing in raising such strong girls?
Loren wrote: "Tamara wrote: "I'm really into any type of fantasy novels these days but I've gotten very picky about what I actually finish. I just don't have the time :("Thanks to Time, I have to censor what b..."
Really?Oh gosh, not me,there are far too many books waiting to be read, for me to stick with a book that I am not enjoying.I won't hesitate to move on to another.
Sandy wrote: "I like a little bit of this and that as long as it is clean (language, sex and gore free).
