101690 Awww, I'm sorry Becky, but I had to disable the option for everyone to be able to add to the bookshelves, after someone removed several of the books. :[

If you PM me with your favorites , I can add them.

OMG, he wrote the most terrifying book that I ever read in my life, and it's nonfiction[medical thriller]!
The Hot Zone The Terrifying True Story of the Origins of the Ebola Virus by Richard Preston It was the first white-knuckle-heart-racing book that I ever experienced, and though read decades ago, I have never forgotten that thrill! I also loved his ~ The Demon in the Freezer by Richard Preston

Time for me to read some of his others.

That one is on my TBR list, but no kiss.... how can that be a romance, that is enough reason to take it off my list!

Without sparking chemistry and knee-weakening kisses, I find a 'so-called' romance unbelievable.

101690 That is soooo cool! Thanks so much for that info, Becky.

101690 Hi Desiree, and WELCOME to the group! :D

Since I believe in neither ghosts, nor demons/angels, ....sounds like a fun read, thanks!

Anyone else have favorite 'SPOOKY' suggestions?

I so agree about movies, that's why I always try to check the parental advisory on IMDb before watching one.

What is Clearplay?

Exactly, the way I feel! Though I would not mind at all if an author wrote a romance where an unworthy character gets dumped for a much more worthy well-developed side character, lol!
101690 I re-watch many of the films plus my favorite DVDs during Halloween month.

My favorites are Something Wicked This Way Comes, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark[with Kim Darby], Whatever Happened To Baby Jane, The Watcher In The Woods, Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte, The Skeleton Key.

Thanks for those suggestions Ramla. I don't mind occasional/scattered mild cursing, in books, just can't tolerate pervasive profanity, with 'F' bombs and religious swears. Have even avoided people who talk like that all my soon to be-65 years, lol!

LOL, yep that's exactly like what I do.

101690 So, how do the readers of romance here feel about 'ANGST' in your romance reads?

Misunderstandings, triangles, cheating, threat/danger hanging over them, most often in the form of a psycho ex boyfriend/husband of the heroine?

I really hate these plot devices, myself, and also insist on a HEA! :D

101690 Nope, don't do book club thingys in this group, as I have never had any interest in reading by a schedule, or by suggested titles.

I read what I want, when I want. I often have to renew my library books the maximum 3 times for three weeks each renewal, just to get them read by the due date, because I decide that recently picked up titles sound more interesting than the ones due back soon, or I've been busy watching DVDs or playing games on my PC or Kindle Fire, or socializing with friends/family lol!

You are most welcome. Those are actually Historical 'Romance'. That's why I included The Help and the link for more traditional historical fiction.
