101690 So true about the profanity, ladies!
101690 I find all offensive, but will stop reading a book that has too many of the last two[pervasive profanity and stomach-turning violence with gruesome gore], faster than a book with sex scenes that I can skip over, unless it has so many or is too descriptive, as to just be porn.

101690 I am reading~ Ashfall (Ashfall, #1) by Mike Mullin but doubtful I will finish it ,as there is really descriptive gruesome gore!

So up next I have Insurgent [which is book #2] on my Kindle borrowed from my library, to read. Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth

101690 I am almost finished with the YA post-apocalyptic book Divergent which is the first book in a trilogy by Veronica Roth. I am enjoying it quite a bit, and appreciate that it is not full of profanity and 'F' bombs, which I refuse to listen to, let alone read!

101690 Thank you Jeanie. Christmas Romances sound good!

101690 Thank you Ramla. Yes, I really like Debbie Macomber romances. This Matter Of Marriage by her is a favorite that I am getting ready to read for the third time, it's so sweet and funny, and so much fun! Rereading is very rare for me.

Appreciate the warning about the Nora Roberts books.

101690 Ramla, was The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts a clean read?

I tried to read, I believe it was The Witness by her and it had so much cursing, that I just stopped reading and returned it to the library, unfinished. :[

Could you suggest titles by her that are clean, if any? Thanks.

I just finished and was very happy with ~

101690 Wow Utah, some really rugged country out there.

I know that it's always disappointing to me if winter starts too early and cold. I like it to gently ease in, haha.

Wow Becky, what state do you live in?
101690 No one has any Holiday favorites?

I remembered another one that is a delight~
Christmas At Harringtons by Melody Carson.

Christmas at Harrington's by Melody Carlson
101690 We were fortunate to have some 60 degree days this November, but I believe winter is finally settling in.

This month is my Birthday when I must renew my driver's license, so I am doing that today while the temps are in the high 40s.

How cold is it where you live?

For sci-fi, I tend to enjoy techno-thrillers the most, such as Jurassic Park, Tsunami Storm, Close Up The Sky.
101690 Awww hopefully it will surprise you. The library in my city of 60,000 doesn't seem very big either, but we are in the AWESOME Clevenet system, so I can get about anything I can think of.
101690 Becky wrote: "We just moved, so I don't even have a library card here yet. I'd better get on that!"

I hope your new library turns out to be 'well-stocked'!

101690 I am just starting my first 'true crime' read~

The Stranger Beside Me: Ted Bundy The Shocking Inside Story
101690 I very rarely rent a DVD. I put them on reserve at my library. I may have to wait a bit to get it, but then it's free for a whole week, and I can even renew it for another week, if no one has put a reserve on it.
101690 If you have a Kindle, I just added several titles that are clean AND still FREE today here~
