101690 I had to stop reading another book~ "The Body at Auercliff", thanks to all the reviewers not even mentioning the countless "F" bombs spewed by the disgusting filthy-mouthed slime-ball mother of the MC! If reviewers had mentioned this, I could have saved my time, and avoided this garbage!

Same with "Death Without Company" (Walt Longmire #2)unlike the TV series, deputy Victoria spews continuous "F" bombs.

So then I started ~ Evernight (Evernight, #1) by Claudia Gray that I got as a Kindle freebie. This is my first vampire read besides Dracula, which did not impress me. Hoping that I will enjoy this one, much more.

101690 Same here Misty! It sure would save time and be helpful if reviews would mention offensive elements contained in a book!

101690 For me, I only read on my Kindle e-reader with e-ink! I would not even consider using a Kindle app to read on my phone!

I won't even read an ebook on my Kindle Fire which was bought, only for games and the internet.

101690 Oh, ok. For me a short book is usually those that are 224 pgs. I prefer books around 300-350 pgs.

101690 That sounds really different and interesting Carol, but it's less than 200 pgs! Will be watching for your review.

101690 Could not finish 'Murder and Mayhem in Goosepimple Junction'. So now going to start a western crime drama series with~ One Perfect Shot A Posadas County Mystery by Steven F. Havill

Haha, I have to do that because there is no light beside my recliner where I read. I bought a Kindle Paperwhite, since my first Kindle is 4 years old, and I was starting to worry that it might die at any time, so I took care of the lack of light since it has it's own lighting, VOILA,LOL!

101690 That sounds good Autumn, put it on my list. :D

101690 The Cavanaugh House was a 3-star read for me, some scattered mild swears, pretty interesting mystery, the ending just felt really odd, with characters suddenly acting out of character and unbelievably so, with no explanation! It felt unconnected to the book that I had just read!

Just starting ~ Powwowing Among the Pennsylvania Dutch A Traditional Medical Practice in the Modern World by David W. Kriebel for daytime reading and ~ Murder & Mayhem in Goose Pimple Junction (Goose Pimple Junction #1) by Amy Metz for nighttime reading on my Kindle Paperwhite.

Since I have already downloaded it will also be starting the prequel to the "Posadas County Mystery" series~One Perfect Shot: A Posadas County Mystery

101690 Carol wrote: "That's a good idea. Remember years ago, Tipper Gore was pushing to get ratings on music albums. Do they still do that? I think on itunes, it is either explicit or clean."

I do remember that, but I have no idea how they are rated. I will have my son check on 'Rap' albums at Best Buy, since those are the most likely to be offensive.

Re: Kristi, I like your rating system! :D

Yeah, I really wish books had ratings like the movies, for all those times that reviewers don't mention when it's garbage!

101690 Couldn't finish "Saving Texas" by Nancy Stancill, because it is not clean! The main character is a disgusting, promiscuous ,SLUT,who I believe, has sex with every man she comes into contact with! The book seems to be more about those events than any mystery! Cursing and crude sexual talk, as well.

So now reading ~ The Cavanaugh House by Elizabeth Meyette
101690 Wow that sounds awesome, Margaret!
101690 Re: Misty-"a rebound book", lol, I love that, and you are so right!
