101690 Although there were about 3 totally unnecessary "F'" bombs, I totally loved The Dress Shop of Dreams by Menna van Praag

101690 Hi Pamela, I have noticed her books and wondered about them. Especially The Swift River Valley series, but I also love the western U.S. so much more than any other part. Cowboys, western lawmen,Texas Rangers ,ummm! Will probably check some out! :D

Which ones,Laurie?

Thank you for suggesting this book, Laurie, it sounds intriguing. :D I will be watching for other suggestions from you.

Thank you for setting me straight about the daughter and ex-DIL authors of Mary Higgins Clark,[I sure had it wrong] haha!

101690 Re: Libby, I love some of Mary Higgins Clark, have not tried her daughter's books yet, or the others you suggested, but am planning to try The Cat Who series.

I would like to find more that are a little more complex/serious than a cozy mystery[even though, I do enjoy them, and find them fun], but still clean, and no torture or grisly gore details, serial killers, or harm of any kind to a child. Non-murder mysteries would be great too.

Hi Claudia. WELCOME to the group!
Thanks for the heads up. I mostly prefer to avoid tear-jerking depressing downer books.

101690 Lisa, that does sound wonderful, and I am moving it up my list. :D

101690 Last Days Of Night was a huge disappointment, so boring!
I am now reading ~ The Ice Twins by S.K. Tremayne

and it is already far more engaging. :D

ETA: Didn't finish. Got too trashy for me. Too many "F" bombs and crude sexual talk. Such a disappointment, because I found the info about identical twins, really interesting, but the trash talk just turned me against the parents, and made me want to stop reading.
101690 Re: Annette, I so agree with both of your peeves!
101690 Definitely will quit reading a "just shoot me now" ANGST-filled book! Nothing at all romantic about that nonsense! Stopped reading books with graphic sex scenes when I was in my 20's after just a few. Found either ridiculously unbelievable or just too crude/vulgar!
101690 Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer is on my TBR list!
101690 Hi Melinda. WELCOME to the group! :D
I totally agree about lonnnnnng lasting misunderstandings that could easily be resolved by simple communication between the couple. Smacks too much of pride and stubbornness and tends to turn me against the characters.
