101690 OH wow Kristi and Lourdes, I went to add 'Interview With The Vampire' to my TBR (very soon) list, and discovered to my surprise that I have read and rated it two stars! Seems I liked Louis, but hated Lestat! I think I will re-read it.... but right now must admit that I am liking the vampire-Bill in Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris , lol!

101690 Kristi wrote: "Anne Rice's vampires spoiled me for any other. When I first read them as a teen, it made me want to be a vampire. They're dark in places and very sensual. Not like graphic sex but I remember feelin..."

LOL,Kristi, now I'm really curious! :D

101690 Hi Lourdes, this is my first vampire story besides Dracula, which I only rated 3-stars.I already like the character of Sookie Stackhouse so much better than either of the Kinsella characters, and I am finding Dead Until Dark a fun read.
I never tried any of those by Ann Rice, so I probably will.

101690 Tried a second Sophie Kinsella book in a different series and could not finish it either! Just cannot take ridiculously absurd scenarios that are supposed to be believed.

Now I am reading my first Charlaine Harris~ Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris

101690 Well I tried my first Sophie Kinsella~ Confessions of a Shopaholic (Shopaholic, #1) by Sophie Kinsella but could not get into it at all! I found the main character unlikeable and just TSTL.The story is ridiculous, about a woman who is heavily in debt because she lacks the self control to resist buying almost everything she sets her eyes on, and things she just thinks about.
Of course in real life her credit card account would have been closed, but in this book, she always has her Visa card to charge even more!
I may try one more book in this series, if I can find a topic that interests me more.

101690 I am almost finished with, and have very much enjoyed the YA-Sci-Fi-Dystopian- Free to Fall by Lauren Miller
With the way so many people are hooked on their cell phones and apps, I can so see this happening!

101690 Two that she might enjoy are~ How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found by Sara Nickerson

and~ Saving Sailor A Quirky Girl, A Faithful Dog, and One Unforgettable Summer (A.J., #1) by Renee Riva

101690 You're most welcome Lourdes.

101690 Sadly, I am not impressed with The Garden Plot (Potting Shed Mystery, #1) by Marty Wingate I'm just at 33% ,but already skimming, because it just isn't engaging me. I am struggling to continue.

The next book in line I have already picked up the PB edition from my library of Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay
which was highly recommended by Odette Knappers.

101690 I'm sorry to say that Book 2 of Apparition Lake~ Obsidian Tears (Apparition Lake Book 2) by Doug Lamoreux was a disappointment by being over the top with violence and gore, moreso than book 1,which was more than I prefer, so no, I would not recommend these books for those who do not care for than in the books they read. :(

Now as an avid Anglophile and once avid gardener, I am reading a cozy mystery set in England~ The Garden Plot (Potting Shed Mystery, #1) by Marty Wingate I have high hopes for this series! :D

101690 Re: Lourdes, Wow..... a 50-book series! Sadly, because of her use of profanity and sex scenes, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb is not an author for me. :(

I'm glad that you enjoyed it, Misty. I was really impressed with it, and loved it, myself.
