Forget about drinking more water or getting in shape! Our favorite New Year's resolution is definitely this: Read More Books. And we're guessing it's yours, too. Make it easier by creating a reading goal and tracking your progress with the 2016 Reading Challenge on Goodreads!

Will it be one book every other month? Or maybe one book a week? A day? It's up to you! Your goal can be any size. To get started, just choose the number of books you'd like to read this year.
Not sure what to read next? Don't worry! Here are a few ways to build your want-to-read list on Goodreads:
- Recommendations: To get recommendations tailored just for you, rate books you've already read. The more books you rate, the better your recommendations will be!
- Giveaways: Did you know you can enter book giveaways for a chance to win free books?
- Lists: You can also browse the thousands of lists on Listopia—where you'll find categories ranging from classic (Best Books of the 21st Century) to niche (Best Alpha Male Alien Meets Human Heroine Romance).
- Goodreads Choice Award winners: Peruse the results of the recently announced 2015 Goodreads Choice Awards, with winners and runners-up in 20 categories!
And it never hurts to have some social support when working toward a goal, so check out the many Goodreads groups that host reading challenges across every topic, theme, and genre imaginable.
In 2015, Goodreads members pledged to read more than 94 million books! What is your 2016 goal? Tell us in the comments!

I am going for 90 books this year
flag
I'll do 90 again this year but pace myself better. Finishing 2 books on New Year's Eve...whew, cut it close!

My goal in 2014 was 100 books. In 2015, it was 150 books but I was afraid I wasn't going to make it. I struggled the last two months. But I'm determined to make a life time goal of 200 books a year. That is what I would like to do this year and then every year after.
My goal is 45 books this year. My 2015 Challenge was 26 and I surpassed it by reading 40 books. Let's do this!Happy reading, everyone!
150 books this year has I have loads of books at home to reduce but thinking of making it higher, changed it twice last year so may stick to this
I tried to read 100 last year and fell woefully short. Since I know I will have less time this year with more things happening, I am setting what I believe will be a more realistic goal of 50 books read this year.
I need to catch up with the books already on my actual shelves at home and on my virtual to-read shelf here. Some are longer non-fiction, so I'm only going to set a goal of 16 books for 2016.
So, um, how do people manage to read a book every other day?You speed read? Do audio books and commute 4h a day? Read 50page books? Only read and do nothing else?
How is it done?
Last year went 1/week, managed to do 45.
So the goal stays the same.
My goal for 2015 was 125 books and I read 126 books so this year I'm going to raise my goal to 150 books. I love reading challenges!

I read most nights. I tend to do when on my way home from work has I don't drive. It's amazing how quick you can though a book
2015 went for 150 ... my total was 296 ... This year I'm going for 150 again.. but well 300 is my goal really.

I read a large variety of books ranging from audiobooks to children's books to classics to graphic novels to romances and so on. I tend to have upwards of 8 books going at the same time and read/listen to whatever strikes my mood at the moment.
Aiming at 50 books third year in a row. In 2014 I succeded , but in 2015 I failed with only 43. Planning to go above 50, but one step at a time.
Happy reading to everyone!
I read and listen to audios on my commute to work. I have read some of the best books this past year. Incentive to read even more
Read 89 books in 2015, my goal was 50! Planning to make 75 my goal for 2016. It's going to be a challenge since I have a lot of reading for a class I am taking! Hope to make 100 ultimately!
Really want to focus on reading more non-fiction books this year!
