Ring Shout
The Memory Police
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
The Book of Lost Saints
Otherbound
Kill the Farm Boy
Sharks in the Time of Saviors
We Are Legion (We Are Bob)
Enjoy picking something not on a bestseller list!

The Library of Legends
The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck
The Moon in the Palace
Pachinko

Maybe so, but I gave 5 stars to 10 of the 13 that I've read, and one that I gave 4 stars won a major prize.

It's not easy to find multiple books many different people agree on. This is consensus based on a wider public conensus, it makes perfect sense. In you time outside the book club, you can read whatever you personally fancy.

God of Small Things- great discussion

There are some on this list that I’ve read apart from book club and wouldn’t be particularly interested in discussing in book club: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Cloud Cuckoo Land, The Guest List. I’m not a fan of Doerr’s plotting, either in Cloud Cuckoo Land or All the Light We Cannot See. Evelyn Hugo and The Guest List books were just mind candy, not really worth a book club discussion.
For what it’s worth, here are some books not on this list that our book club particularly enjoyed discussing in recent years:
Derek B. Miller: American By Day
Gail Honeyman: Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine
Agatha Christie: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
Phil Hogan: A Pleasure and a Calling
Leif Enger: Virgil Wander
Kristin Hannah: The Great Alone
Jane Austen: Persuasion
Christina Baker Kline: A Piece of the World
David Grann: Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI
Sonia Purnell: A Woman of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II
Anthony Verghese: Cutting For Stone
Natasha Solomons: Mr. Rosenblum Dreams in English
Julia Child: My Life in France
Mary Ann Shaffer: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Louise Dickinson Rich: We Took to the Woods

Thomas Mullen: The Last Town on Earth

A Gentleman in Moscow

The Round House
The Splendid and the Vile
Angle of Repose
All of these rated 5 stars!
