Snowed In! Mysteries and Thrillers for the Wicked Cold

Snow is one of those natural phenomena that relies greatly on context. Sometimes a heavy snowfall is pretty and calming and suggests that all is well in our beautiful universe. But other times it will kill you.
Below we've gathered 21 books on the theme of getting snowed in, with an eye toward the lethal side of things. You’ll find a good selection of crime fiction, mysteries, and thrillers, along with some straight-up horror and a few random curveballs.
As with real estate generally, the most important element in these stories is location, location, location. Snowed in at a comfortable chalet with a fireplace, an attractive partner, and plenty of booze? That’s good snow! Snowed in at a haunted hotel, former sanatorium, or Donner Pass? Less awesome.
Happy reading!

Just added Snowblind to my TBR pile. It was on another list for Mysteries set in isolated locations. Can't wait to read!
Great list. I follow a blog who mentioned some of these. I'm in the boiling hot weather in Sydney, this might add some much needed cold!
Also "The Soul Breaker" by Sebastian Fitzek about a group of people in an exclusive psychiatric clinic who find themselves locked in with a psychopath who doesn't kill but break his victims.
