A few days ago ,as soon as the quarantine ban eased ,the first shop I went was a bookstore.Because I am at a high risk group ,and the salesperson was not really keeping her distance ,I quickly grabbed 3 books and came back home .One already finished this morning : The Eight Mountains https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... ,for the summer I must make an online order that will take a few weeks to arrive .
I'll be rereading some of my favorite series : David & Leigh Eddings - The Belgariad & The Malloreon Series (12 books in total ) + The Redemption of Althalus
Ellis Peters '- Brother Cadfael ( i finally have that one complete, all 20 books )
Mercedes Lackey - The 500 Kingdom Series (9 books )
and for the rest of summer ?? whatever tickles my interest
Happy reading to you all
I'd like to finish the Cazalet saga (I have read 2 out of 4 books so far), then maybe some other books of the Outlander series. And then of course many thriller.
A big social-distanced HUG to all the readers :)
Even though I'm stuck at home, I'm going to try to make this summer one of the best by reading a whole bunch of the books from the summer reading post! :D
I'll be reading authors new to me this summer . A couple of years ago I fell out of love with reading and read less than half my normal number. After some consideration , I realised that for the last 15 years or so I'd been reading the same 30 or 40 authors , and getting less and less satisfaction from them .With only a few exceptions , I now only read authors I've never tried before. This summer , I've earmarked such unknowns ( to me ) as Ariana Franklin , James Dashner , Robin Blake as well as the Hunger Games books.
I read 5 pages I read to 38 to 63 I read 106 pages next I will read fairytale book it called little red Riding Hood in one book I finished this one that make 140 pages I will read Dr Seuss ABC I read 63 pages that make 170

At my age (84) I have read thousands of books, starting at age three. Right now I am into Jane Austin. I plan on keeping on reading books based on Pride and Predjudice. Some of them are really good.

I know all of you in the Northern Hemisphere are thinking Summer but those of us in the Southern Hemisphere are thinking Winter. So over here in Australia, we would like some good Winter reading guides. Any suggestions for the colder months here on the other side of the world to you?
I will read lots of escapist contemporary romance and cozy mysteries. My big summer read will probably be Middlemarch by George Eliot. A re-read. I didn't really connect to this novel as a young woman. I believe this reading will be different.
Planning on finally finishing the Quantum Gate series by Eric Warren; currently reading the third book, Triality. There most definitely should be a Summer Reading Challenge.

Instead of re-reading Harry Potter, try it on audio! Lots of fun to listen to the book.
KyLynn wrote: "I'm gonna reread Harry Potter."Instead of re-reading Harry Potter, why not mix it up and listen to the series on audiobooks? I had a lot of fun listening the second time I went through Harry Potter!
My classic light summer reads are: Beach Read, A Palm Beach Wife, and Happy and You Know it. Also hoping to get to American Dirt, Hidden Valley Road in June. From slightly older books (pre-2020), I would like to get to The Farm, An American Marriage, and Circe.

Hm...I have a whole shelf dedicated to all of my summer books on my bookshelf, and I'm wondering when I should start reading those. The official first day of summer or when the weather changes to summer weather or when school ends?

The one positive of lockdown is the ability to read books, though right now I'm juggling online exams. I'm finding that I really enjoy thrillers and historical fiction so would love some recommendations for when I have the time to read them
