At the Romantic Times Convention...
Okay, so I'm here in beautiful downtown Columbus, Ohio (and I'm not kidding--it really IS beautiful!) at the Romantic Times Convention. We're at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, which has become a small city of romance readers and writers, editors and agents, booksellers, librarians... and an undertaker's convention. Also, I think there's a group of people from Honda holding a conference, point being, while it's all about romance, we are definitely getting the odd look or two from men in suits. I'm n...

OUT OF SIGHT–time for Sykes!
Good morning, my flowers:
This time it is sister-Quill Susan Anderson who has allowed me her spot to babble about OUT OF SIGHT! Thank you Susan.
I have enjoyed every moment of writing the Court of Angels books–so far. Already I'm working on the next installment but for now I hope you will spend some entertaining hours with Sykes, Poppy and the rest of the gang.
Blessings, Stella
Available NowInspiration hit Sykes and he ran with it. He leaned against a wall, crossed one foot over the other...

Jayne brings you a career criminal hero

Okay, I admit that some of my heroes have crossed the line once or twice -- taking out the odd villain, that sort of thing. But in BURNING LAMP, the second volume of my new Dreamlight Trilogy, I'm featuring my first career criminal hero. It wasn't easy, let me tell you.Griffin Winters is a Victorian era London crime lord. I went for the impression of a 19th century version of a shady Vegas casino owner, if you know what I mean. But, let's face it, the man came up from the dark London...

Dragons and Coupons
Good Morning, my flowers:Thanks to dear Lori, I' ba-ack. I know, I was only just here moaning about something. This time I have much more interesting news.
To celebrate the release of OUT OF SIGHT, on sale next Tuesday, April 27 I am holding a contest and sending out a lovely publishers' coupon.
I admit I'm all jumpy all over again as I wait for this one to appear--will I ever grow up? And next Wendesday I hope to have some really special photos to share with you--taken at Borders here in...

Writing in the garden

I'm a morning person. I love to be up with a cup of coffee to watch the sunrise on our hilltop. My webmaster and friend Sally is a night owl -- we've e-mailed each other when I've just gotten up and she's about to go to bed. I suppose it's natural that our house faces east. In the warm(er) weather months, I'll get out in the garden after breakfast and dig, weed, dead-head and debate where to move the catmint (I always seem to be moving the catmint!). I'll walk down to the little pond down...

How to Ruin an Elegant Tea...and other disasters.
Good morning, my flowers:The "other disasters" shall wait until I get through with the first piece of nonsense. It didn't start out as nonsense but someone managed to reduce a lovely afternoon to something almost too painful for me to report.
It all happened on the occasion of a splendid high tea given by Matt Cameron for his mother (myself) and father, and their entire family together with their good friends and neighbors who hail from Scotland.
As you see from the pictures, Matt spared...

Taking a "me" day...
Today I did something I haven't done in way too long. I took a "me" day. Yep, put on real clothes and my walking shoes, grabbed my handbag and got in my new car--the one we've had now for a month that I haven't even had time to drive until today--and I went to town. Drove away from the computer and the book that's due in three weeks that's probably not going to be done on time, left the husband here to fend for himself and headed to the mall and some time shopping (bought nothing) and then I ...

Susan gives you: The Girl Who Chased the Moon
I tried to think of something to write for my Wednesday blog...but kept coming up blank. I have too much on my plate this week and just don't have the chops, you know? So I decided to report on a wonderful book I recently read--to treat myself to introducing you to an author you may not have yet discovered.
I came across Sarah Addison Allen a few years ago when I picked up her first book, Garden Spells. I have to tell you, it knocked my socks off. Not since Alice Hoffman have I read a wr...
