Reblog: Wrath by Mark Gardner

Adan’s Note: I had to reblog this. ‘Wrath’ is the story of a relationship burdened by untreated mental illness, and the beginning of a longer tale that I can’t wait to keep reading.

Chuck’s prompt this week is Seven Deadly Sins. A thousand words, any genre, anystory. I’m a little heavy at 1080 words. * * * Steven’s knuckles turned white as he clenched his fist aro…

I Hate You – Don’t Leave Me | Book Review Wednesday

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)is a little talked about, and even less understood, condition that affects many more people than are actually diagnosed with it by name. By its very nature, BPD lies on the ‘borderline’ between other Axis I Diagnoses, such as ADHD, Substance-Related Disorders, Schizophrenia, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Dissociative Identity Disorder (so-called “Multiple Personality Disorder”). This makes it difficult to correct...

Pledge for Parity | International Women’s Day 2016

I made a pledge today to help women and girls reach their potential and achieve their ambitions, because I think that all women deserve to be who they want to be. I don’t think that gender has anything to do with ability or potential.

Juggling Lone Abandoned Shoes with Stephanie Ayers | Spotlight Saturday

For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you’ve probably notice me mention Our Write Side, a great new writing community that posts prompts, writing tips, fiction, and more. I’ve written a number of stories from their prompts since I found them, and I interviewed OWS’s A.L. Mabry back in January.

For today’s Spotlight Saturday, I have Stephanie Ayers. Her first book, Til Death Do Us Part, has a bunch of great reviews; I even reviewed it here in January. You can also find her work in End...

Embracing the Darkness with Katherine Hayton| Author Interview

If you go to her website, Katherine Hayton’s tagline explains it all: Crime. Murder. Death. My Pleasure.

Katherine’s work is dark and mysterious. She has three novels (Found, Near Water; Skeletal; andBreathe and Release)and several short stories published, and I’m waiting patiently to find out when her fourth book, The Three Deaths of Magdalene Lynton, will be published by Amazon. That’s right – her next book was nominated and selected through the Kindle Scout program. (I’m excited to say I w...

Dead Wood by Chris Longmuiris a crime thriller centered around a serial killer whose orders come from a forest haunted by memories ofvictims past. It’s book #2 of the Dundee Crime series, but it works pretty well as a standalone.

The Drunken Barista, Part 4 | Serial Sunday

Love is in the air, the sun is shining, everything is decorated in red and pink, heart-shaped glitter covers the ground upon which we walk…

I don’t think so. This week’s piece of theDrunken Barista puzzle involves siblings, relationships, and the bonds of love that are stronger than blood and more important than young love.

Mutual Affections| Fiction Friday

This week’s Fiction Friday came from my recent experience with raising a new puppy. I always knew dogs had their own personalities, but I never knew just how unique and expressive they were until I brought my new little companion home. And, in honor of this month in which we are all expected to celebrate love, I thought it was appropriate.

Mutual Affections

They met at the park one day as a fog was rolling in over the grassy hills. Sheila was fresh from the spa, and shook out her hair luxuri...

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry | Book Review Wednesday

Iread a classic book to my children, and my book-hating son asked if he could keep it.

If you’ve read anything I’ve written about my family, you will know that my daughter is the bookish one, and my son is more mechanically inclined. More than that, she devours books like I do. My son, on the other hand, has historically been brought to tears over the little paper storybooks he is asked to read for his weekly homework.
