Social Media Presence [1]
I have a social media presence. Not much of one, but I do have one.
I have been blogging once a week for many years now. And somewhere in there, I got a Twitter account. Sometime later, I found out there were hashtags (#) so I started following and using a few. Technically, I suppose that you do not follow a hashtag. But you can follow somebody who consistently puts out a particular hashtag. And you can put out tweets or posts with hashtags so that other people can see them or retweet and...

Oh Oh Oh Banjo
Learning to play the banjo is lots of fun. Especially since nobody has yet said, “Oh oh oh.”
I got a banjo for Christmas last year (just over a month ago). The wrapping paper said, “HO HO HO” which also looks like “OH OH OH” since it was in ALL CAPS. My wife, the Mindboggling Mrs. Miyoshi (who must approve of all posts where I mention her), was the one who noted that oh, oh, oh might be appropriate. Even though she was the one who gave me the present, she knew that my playing might cause he...

Not Allowed to Use Glue
I am not allowed to use glue. Ever. Okay. That is a lie. But it is probably the way it should be. I like glue, but it does not like me.
I like to be craftsy. Well, maybe artsy. At any rate, I like to be creative. But doing arts and crafts is not always my thing. Especially, when it comes to glue. Glue is messy. Glue is my nemesis.
If you think back to elementary school, there was always somebody who poured glue on his or her fingertips. “Look. No fingerprints.” That person was not...

Installing Hardwood Floors [1]
My hat is off to anybody who does backbreaking work all day long.
I just installed hardwood floors in three rooms of our house. It took a week to do two rooms and a weekend to do the third. They are all about the same size, so it must have been the little bit of experience that made the last one go faster. At any rate, I know the cost of those floors in terms of blood, sweat, and tears. Okay. Maybe not tears.
I never would have thought about it, but being on your hands and knees for ten or...

Kimchi Is the Perfect Food
I may have said it before, but I am going to justify it here today. Kimchi is the perfect food.
(I do not know why, but I am on a kimchi writing kick. Call this, Kimchi Part 3, if you will.)
I would not say that I love kimchi, but I do like it. Whenever we have it in the house, I binge on it. Okay. Not really binge, but I do eat it like it is going out of style. I like the taste. I like the smell. I even like the texture. But truth be told, I used to think it had to go with rice. Lots...

Happy New Year 2022
[image error]
Happy New Year! It is 2021! Oops. 2022. Ah well. Lots of time to make that mistake.
I suppose that I will make the mistake of misdating things for a while. I remember it taking almost all of January to get used to the new year when I was a kid. I would need to erase the year and put the correct one down when I turned in school assignments. I am not sure I will need to do that very often this year.
I for one, am glad to be shut of the year 2021. (Yes, to be shut of something is an old t...

Merry Christmas 2021 [1]
Christmas 2021 is a different Christmas.
(Even though I wrote the first line in present tense, I am writing it before Christmas day. I need to do that. Especially since I give a preview to my Twitter and Facebook audience (as few in numbers of both real and imaginary readers as they are) a preview on the Thursday before. But I figured that I needed to write something since my actual blog posting date falls on Christmas again this year.)
Much about Christmas this year is the same. We are gat...
