Owning It! The Book Every Designer, Stylist, Author and Business Owner Should Have!
I first found this book in 2015 and eyed off the $75 price tag with apprehension. I knew this book was going to be informative, and knew I should have it purely for the legalities it talks about, but I didn’t know how informative it was going to be.
For any Australian business owner, photographer, blogger, designer, anybody else, buy this book and read it, it’s vitally important to your business.
You can find it at Creative Minds.

The Versatility of a Laptop Cooling Stand
I bought this cooling stand from ebay for my laptop last year, purely to boost my pc up higher so the screen was eye height.
It has three levels you can adjust it to, I usually have the highest.
But one thing I recently realised it was also handy for, was holding my writing notebooks while I’m typing up the stories. Yep, I write and type by hand!
I love things you can get several uses out of, especially when you get migraines from bending your head forward to type like I do.
Do you guys love multi purpose stuff like I do and what have you got?

The Items I Use For Writing
For years I wanted a blue and/or pink writing compendium to hold my A4 spiral bound notebook and blue pen. That’s what I use when I write, nothing else. Just a notebook and pen. So I scrounged around, checked out places like Officeworks where Filofaxes (like the pink one) were $80.
Stuff that! I thought, and finally found an old blue diary cover from an op shop. It was a buck fifty I think and is from 2010 but who cares, it’s a blue cover and is nearly as big as my notebooks.
They fit in, so no problem there. And then I found the pink one from the same op shop late last year. It’s a Filofax, can you believe it, the same one that was $80 in Officeworks. I got it for a buck twenty-five and while it has that scratch on the cover, who cares, it’s freakin’ awesome!
Side by side!
So then I dug out this pc neoprene cover I bought from Officeworks for $5 years ago…
And use it to store extra notebooks and edits that can tuck away in the side pocket.
I also dug up this one that used to house my Acer laptop, which sadly had to finally be put down last year. I haven’t let this go to waste either…
As it can hold notebooks I’m yet to use.
And then I dug out one of my old notebooks for all the ideas I was having for bits in my books, and decided on this one…
And I use a blue glitter pencil case, also from the op shop, for the packs of pens I use. A ten pack at a time. Gotta have glitter.

Do you guys write? Are you planning on writing? Will it be by hand like me, or will you do it straight onto a computer?

Brand New Goodies From Vistaprint
To go with my business kit I mentioned a couple of days ago, I also splashed out on notebooks, pens, totes and other things such as Jewel Divas notebooks, pen, envelope seals and thank you notepads for when people buy from my Jewel Divas store.
I also had Tiara King notebooks, pens, envelope seals and a tote made. Pretty damn awesome.
And, for when people buy at the Jewel Divas Style website, or one of many other online stores, I can send a personal note from me.
And those goodies get to live separately in their own Sistema container that I already had lying around.
Love me a Vistaprint!
What have you guys had made at Vistaprint lately?

I’ve Updated My Small Business kit
I did three things on January 1st 2016.
One was making a list of things I wanted to do this year and planning them out month by month.
Two was transferring last year’s diary notes over to this year’s diary notes.
And three was updating my business kit.
I found my kits way back in 2012 and blogged about them here.
Now, I’ve updated my smaller one as I bought two diaries for 2016. One is a gorgeous ringed diary with flapper style woman on the front. I use it for scheduling blog posts, appointments, when things need doing and holidays. The smaller is for carrying around in my kit for appointments and what not. I also added in Tiara King notepads, crown envelope seals and pen from VistaPrint.
I bought packs of pink and blue rubber bands and paper clips, added them to my pink and blue bull clips, divided them up amongst the small and large kits and stored them in small zip lock bags.
I carry my diary, two notebooks, my notepads and a variety of pens as well.
It all tucks neatly away and zips up ready to go everyday. In fact, it stays permanently in my bag and goes everywhere.
It’s definitely going to be a year to do this…
Have you guys updated your business kit and do you carry it around with you all the time?
