Nancy Drew is on the case!
There were a few things last year to buy and a few I’m yet to get my hands on. It’s a bit hard when it’s all American made and sold and the conversion rate is sucking, making it more expensive than I’d like.
Lithograph sells the poster, bag and tshirt on the left. It has the complete text for The Secret in the Old Clock on it. Cool!
Then there’s the double sided tote in the middle, the Out of Print navy tshirt and the only pc game released last year by Her Interactive.
There’s more things to track down so obviously there will be more pics and posts to come.

Awesome stationery sets and Bic pencils are back!
Ah stationery, God love it. I have been addicted many a time over the last 40 years and every now and then I still add to the obsession. Last year it was this flamingo and pineapple kit. Yep, more pineapples, but flamingos too. Can never have enough flamingos! Got them from Kmart for $3.
This year I found that Bic had once again done mechanical pencils in decorative styles. I had dozens of these as well as the pens from the 90s when they were doing them. Flat Cats were my favourites, and now I see they’ve bought some back. Beside the pack is some of my old ones.
And when I got my pineapples in target, I scored this pack of fashion erasers for $1. Score and HELL YES! And of course they will never be used.
What sort of stationery scores have you guys had lately?

MY STYLE: Studded Snakes
It’s been a hell of a time in the JDS household, my mother’s been in and out of the hospital twice in the last two months after three times in December. I’m tired, it’s hot and I don’t have the energy to be bothered. Just like last week when I could not be bothered dressing up in 35 degrees Celsius to run to the hospital to pick her up and then out shopping and my chiro appointment.
So the outfit was simple, snakeskin print Millers pants and silver studded top from 2014, bother were $18 and Spendless Shoes sandals from 2014, $40. No jewellery except for my watch.
I’m exhausted inside and out. I cannot do any of this for much longer and I have no idea if or when it will stop. My schedule has been stuffed since December so all of the things I wanted to do has not been done, and I may have to leave them all for next year.
There is a book coming this year though, more a young/adult short book which hopefully will be released in May. More on that over the next two months.

What Can You Do if You Can’t Afford a Varidesk? Make your own!
A lot of people are raving about Varidesks, an awesome desk top contraption that you sit your laptop on and when you feel like standing, or sitting, you just raise it up like Josh Groban, or lower it way down like Elvis Presley.
But considering they are hundreds of dollars and not everyone can afford one, or have the space for it, what can you do to raise up your pc? Well, scrounge around your home and re-purpose whatever you can.
I did!
I found an old vacuum cleaner box…
Filled it up with old Amazon and post boxes for strength and sticky taped it closed.
Below is my desk when I’m sitting and using the pc.
Below is my desk with the box and my pc sitting on it…as you can see it doesn’t take up much room, less than a Varidesk would.
And this is how it looks when I use the cooling fan booster to put my pc up even higher. There’s also room for my mouse and pad… Geez, I need to clean the screen, don’t I?
I can now sit and stand at my desk, taking it in turns. My chiro didn’t like me sitting all the time and I suffered immense back pain by the end of a day after sitting. Now, I stand in the mornings while I check out social media and do my business, then I have lunch and sit in the afternoons to write. I have much less back pain, although, being flat footed, I do suffer immense foot pain, but I’m working on it.
So, do you guys have a Varidesk? Can you afford one or have you made one yourself by re-purposing something from around the house?

I’ve grown a pineapple orchard to go with my apple orchard!
I finally gave in to the pineapple obsession everyone is in on and it’s all thanks to Target!
In January Target had a back to school sale and were advertising the pineapple and pencil set in the middle for $9. They also had the two glasses at $3 each, and I scored the plate for $15. I did consider the pineapple bowl set and tea towel but that was one for $5 and I’m a tight arse! But you never know, I might go back…
Which I did and got the tea towel for $5!
I’m sure there will be many more pineapples pop up in the house by the end of the summer months, but they add to the orchard, such as the apple one that’s taken over…
How many pineapples do you have in your house, or are you into another type of fruit?

How I Gave My Desk A Makeover
A desk makeover was definitely long overdue.
It was messy, things were everywhere, on the desk, the cupboard, under the table, ugh.
Below are the before pics. I used an old quilt cover to cover the table, because it is actually a kitchen table and not a desk. One pc sits in the middle when being used, the other on the printer. I’ve got mess everywhere.
To the left are three plastic cubes we’ve kept since the 70s, and by God have they come in handy. They contain all of my business folders which I blogged about making last year, as well as style, jewellery and other things. My writing notebooks sat on my radio to the left, along with other bits and pieces.
To the right is my bookshelf with just some of my Nancy Drew books and folders on it. Mainly the current ones. On the desk are containers filled with paper and pens and stationery. Again, what a mess.
So I went shopping and spent about $107 on all sorts of goodies. A whiteboard monthly planner $15, a five drawer paper holder $20, four pink glitter magazine holders $22, an array of pink and blue floral trays and containers, a six switch electrical board, $15, so everything can stay plugged in at the same time. A pineapple pencil kit $9, a pack of 30 lead pencils for $3 and three pink glitter document boxes $15.
I started by cleaning the table and laying another quilt cover over it, this time, my blue and yellow star one.
I then arranged everything to see how things looked.
And then filled them up!
To the left are the three document boxes with some books and knick knacks.
On the printer are three of the pink glitter magazine holders. The left has spare notebooks plus the ones I’ll be writing my book series in, probably not until 2017. The middle one contains the notebooks and notes for the three book series I’m currently writing, and the right one contains the notebooks and notes for the children’s stories I’m also writing under the name T.K. Wrathbone.
In the middle of the table are two floral baskets holding pencils, sharpies, calculator, iphone charger etc, plus a feng shui star frame, and a few knick knacks.
The right of the desk now has the five drawer storage holder filled with printer paper, scrap paper, stuff I need all the time. On top is the pink tray, small and large magazine holders full of more scrap paper, and paperwork I need to get my hands on immediately if need be. I have my pineapple with the pens I use most and I hung my whiteboard up and filled it in. I did this on the 13 th of Feb which you can see on the board.
I ended up clearing so much rubbish up from under the table, beside the table, on the table. I know it looks packed now, but I use this stuff on a daily basis, especially my writing notebooks.
So, that’s my desk makeover, have you guys done one recently?

My Ed Hardy Tiara Tigress clutch bag
I have been after this clutch for years because many a years ago I bought what I thought was a black one off ebay but it ended being the grey one. But now, well, late last year, I finally managed to get a black one after a US seller on ebay changed her mind after a few months and decided to ship overseas.
Besides being called Tiara, or a variety of Tigress, Tigress Tiara, Tiara Tigress it has a gold embossed tiger face on the front with gold hardware. It comes in its own storage bag, as they all did, and this is my fifth Ed hardy piece.
Christian Audigier died a year or so ago so getting this, purely because it’s named after me, was a lucky break. Maybe I should track down more clothing and accessories that are named after me. I know there were some glamorous crystal heels a decade ago.
Have you guys ever bought something purely because it was “named after you”?
