The Moon Was Beautiful Last Night

I took this video last night as the fog was rolling in. I thought it matched well with this song. Enjoy!

The Other

image

To have touched such lurid beauty

Embracing all that is love and peace

Toiling in the flame of her essence

I am tossed, perplexed in mystery

A puzzle impossible to place

The pieces of a great paradox

Fear becomes my necessity

One not of elegance or grace

Might there be a duplicate

For duplicitous sake alone

Aghast, I saw an apparition

Or might this truly be you

So I ask, will you take my love

Are you the harbinger, an omen

The lone thief of my heart’s beat

Weaver of a destitute misery

If truth exists in you,...

Inside Out ~ A Duet

image

What is it inside of you that makes these letters true?

Is it made of colors or pieces of life’s broken hopes?

Maybe elemental, and invisible to all but closed eyes

This ink is composed of silken webs of truth and lies

Dripped from lovers lips, desperate attempts to seduce

Whispers that arouse naked flesh and raw internal scars

Shall I hide away my desire to run through unabashed?

Drown in the ink of your sorrow until my will dissolves?

Or trace the webs back to your heart and burn them all?

Hidden...

If You Scroll Down…

The editors at Brilliant Flash Fiction were kind enough to include a piece of my writing for their quarterly, January edition. If you scroll down pretty far, you will find my contribution.

I used my given name, “Jonathan Ojanpera”, just in case you see it and think that it is an incredible coincidence, or even a bleak possibility that there is someone named “Johnny Ojanpera” who isn’t me. You can find it here. I would love to see a comment or two or three…

Thanks everyone! :)

The Whip

Johnny Ojanpera:

“Did you really think you had control of the muse?”

It began empty of lifeblood sentience

He was spiritless, turned off and bored

Arrogant, proud, pushy, cocksure, careless

A beautiful, dark, terrifying, celestial seraph

The sultry aphrodisiac, one taste, no going back

He had been warned as she sunk in the lure

And so the tempest began a cyclone of control

But For The Wind

image

Little can keep me from a frolic in the meadow

A waltz on the bay, or only to sit beside you

I could lay under the sun on a cloud covered day

Pretend to be warm as if sun yearns to be seen

A night under the stars, surrounded by stones

Canyon-rim, daydreaming a featherless flight

Oh, to waste away in the middle of nowhere

I would take the chance to breathe clean air

No dwelling of brick or wood can keep me in

Nothing, I fear…

But for the wind

I need you to come to me without reservation

I want you to play with me like the best of toys

I long for your fingers through my hair, eye to eye

I will not inquire, only wait in hope, still as a tree

I beg to be left in the quiet, only your soul is allowed

I plead for a touch that will leave me with a feeling

Can you touch me softly enough to feel the inside?

Will you show me how to turn these p...

Music Theme – The Doctor Is In

Johnny chose the music theme for this week. I will be filling in for him today, as he is a virulent heap of flu symptoms, and is otherwise incapacitated.

When do we need a doctor?

I can’t answer this question for everybody, but there comes a time when our only option is to see a doctor of some sort. This is one scenario…

It starts out like this.

But then this happens.

You might lose your sense of…everything.

And then it’s time to make the call.

Then the roller coaster begins…

Chemical Carousel

image

On a chemical carousel

We ride not on pretty ponies

No

We merry-go-round on the backs

Of hell hounds and hyenas

Screeching gears and steaming pipes

Power this carnival of broken hearts

Twirl a team of whimsy sparks

Bat-blind to the broken parts

On a chemical carousel

We swallow things whole

Yes

We take it all from healing hands

Mind-mending gratitude, medical brand

Fueling forced sonic synergies

Neuronal normal on the breeze

Pouting powerless in our dreams

Close my eyes to rip the seams

Never Looking Back

This is what you should be reading today.

The painting of

One thousand heartbeats

Of just seeing her

Slows my own.

We are not broken

By decisions and movement.

We are a timeless pallet

Colors so vivid.

Of brushstroke painted

Between your heart and mine

Ribs infused in grace

From not so long ago..

Adam and Eve

Of decisions and movement.

Classic wonder and the beautiful,

Who is she?

Will we not crumble

Nor disintegrate a dream,

Of longing for the days,

Of hold...
