12 Top Picks: Christmas Music for the Whole Family {and Music Giveaway}
There’s an annual debate among my husband and his siblings.
No, it’s not about who gifts to who for Christmas. Or even where we spend the holidays (they got on a rotating schedule long before I joined the family, and it has worked well!).
Instead, it’s about how soon is too soon to break out the eggnog and the Christmas music.
Personally, I prefer to savor my fresh pressed apple cider until Thanksgiving has come and gone.
Apple and Onion Stuffing – Always the Crowd Favorite
Thanksgiving is next week and I’m still feeling a little blindsided by that fact.
I find myself reacting like this every year. The days and weeks seem to pile on top of each other so quickly and my head is left spinning a little! I can’t be the only mother who feels this way, right?
I want this short stretch of the year to just stop and slow down a little bit so that I can fully enjoy it without feeling bogged down by the many to-do lists I make for myself!

3 Reasons A Planner Makes Me Happy {& Which Is My Favorite One}
I am a planner.
You can ask my husband and he’ll tell you. It’s something he has learned about me and even come to appreciate about me.
Sometimes my kids appreciate it too – and sometimes it frustrates them.
And they all like to tease me about it. Whispering in hushed tones, “It’s Mom and Her Planner” as if it’s sacred or something.

An Insider Look: 20 Things You Always Wanted to Know About the Jacobson Home
Shhhh. I’m going to try to sneak this post onto Lisa’s website without her noticing, or I’m afraid she won’t hit publish. Please read it quietly under the covers with a flashlight! ~ Christy
A few years ago I connected with Lisa on Club 31 Women, and she invited me to write a guest post for her. A guest post turned into a rich, long friendship, which is why I hopped on a plane recently to have a weekend sleepover at her house.
How to Make The Most Of Every Day
There are different times of the year when I am more motivated than others to start new habits; the beginning of a new month, the beginning of the New Year, the beginning of a new school year and sometimes, the beginning of the week.
There is no way that I can start a new project on a Wednesday (or later). It’s just not natural! And when I don’t read my Bible until Thursday I feel as if my week has been a failure.

A Prayer for My Son’s Someday Bride-to-Be
I can tell you the exact moment I began praying for our son’s future wife.
Maybe not the month.
Or even the year.
But definitely the moment.
I’m sure there must have been a context of some kind, but most of those details have faded and now all I can remember are the words that he said.
“I want the kind of wife who would be able to pull an arrow out of my back.

Why Do I Get So Annoyed at That Man?
Here in Montana, November means the men put on camouflage and spend a week hunting.
But do you know what hunting has always meant for me? No cooking dinner, doing some fun project, and maybe a splurge to go shopping. So I’ve always waved goodbye to the men and have tried to look sad.
“I’ll miss you!” (Take your time –an extra day if you need to.
