Receiving Messages During the Time Between Being Asleep and Awake

This blog post isn’t on the exact topic of dream interpretation, but on that weird state when you’re not awake, yet not asleep either. Back in the early nineties when I was studying hypnotherapy, my instructor mentioned how similar the feeling of being in-between sleeping and awakening is to the hypnotic state. In both cases you’re aware of your surroundings, are in a state of mind that is easier to accept suggestions; nonetheless, you clearly know what your values are and have the capacity to say no to anything harmful or bad behavior.

Our subconscious mind, Higher Source, or whatever you choose to call it uses this in-between state to pass on helpful information and messages to assist us through our life’s journey; in the same manner our dream messages do. In fact, during one of my hypnosis trainings, I slipped from a state of hypnosis back into a dream that I realized I dreamed the night before, yet forgot about the dream. Then a few minutes later I went back into hypnosis remembering bits and pieces of that forgotten dream. Pretty freaky, huh?

How do these messages appear to us? By the following four ways:

Seeing a vision in your mind.
Hearing a voice in your ear or head.
Receiving an idea.
Having an inner knowing this is the way to go.

Please don’t ignore this information as you wouldn’t have received it if wasn’t important. What types of messages could you receive? You may get messages to assist you with:

Health
Diet
Love life
Friends
Clients
Co-workers
Career
Self-employment
Transportation
Relocation
Or anything else you can think of.

The next time you receive input during your half-awake state, implement it as long as safe to do so. For example, if you hear to eat more protein, more than likely your body is in need of vital daily supplements. Or if you get a vision that a client doesn’t show up for his appointment in the afternoon, email or call him right away to confirm the appointment.

Last week, I received the message right before I awoken to reduce my online class How to Interpret Your Dreams at Teachable from $50.00 to $21.00. That’s a huge savings, plus you have a 30 day money back guarantee. I hope you enjoy the journey into the fascinating journey of the dreamland!

Dream Symbols for Bra

Have you ever had a dream about bras? Last week, was the first time I ever did, hence the reason for this blog post. The following are what comes off the top of my head for possible bra symbols:

Feeling or being supported.
Covering up your heart.
Being or feeling confined.
Taking off a bra is an expression of freedom.
Acknowledging your femininity.
Nourishing your soul.
Feeding yourself or a child.

Obviously, there is also a sexual symbolism for bras, especially if a man is dreaming this. Please note the above seven dream meanings are generic as a daily horoscope. What events occurred in your past, current issues, action or other symbols within the dream lead to thousands of possible interpretations. Add in your emotions during the dream and you just added an infinite amount of potential dream meanings! To learn more about how feeling effect dream interpretation, please read Emotions in Dreams, Aids in Dream Interpretation.

What’s Pamela Dreaming?

Here’s my dream:

I was sitting around a table with women that were from a former gym I used to attend. One woman said to me in a degrading tone, “Why don’t you wear a bra when you work out?” The other women agreed with her, while chiming in with words to put me down.

Their words and actions made me feel insulted; therefore, my response was, “It’s comfortable and I don’t care what you think.” Then I stood up, ignored their words, and walked away.

Just an FYI – I always wore a sports bra when I used to work out at that gym. However, often I felt judged by some of the women in the classes. Even their yoga classes were competitive, which is frowned upon in serious yoga practice. Since I prefer yoga, I left a month before my year membership expired.

Interpretation

This dream is a perfect example of how the past influences the present, although it’s also expressing two situations in my current life.

One situation is a small group I was attending with kinder members; however, it’s not the right place for me. The other reason is in regards to my life and business, there’s always someone telling me how to live or what I “should” do in business. Yet, it’s important for me to trust my intuition and be myself, which enables me to be comfortable in my own skin. What’s nice about aging is I care less and less about what others think of me.

A messages from my Angels:

Pamela’s dream is not only for her, but for you. Be you, be who you are, trust your intuition, what others think of you is none of your business, be free to do what’s right for you. Freedom is your birthright!

Wow, I wasn’t expecting my Angels to chime in! Nonetheless, it is an important lesson for all of us.

Shoes Dream Meanings

“I cried because I had no shoes till I met a man who had no feet” ~ Saadi

Have you ever had dreams about shoes? Shoes are important to protect our feet from stepping on anything that could harm them; therefore, shoes are symbolic of protection. Most likely, protecting your body or an Earthly possession. If you’re curious about the dream meanings of feet, please read my blog post Dream Interpretation for Feet

Seven other dream meanings of shoes are:

Not feeling grounded as your feet are covered.
If shoes are worn out, you could feel worn out or there is a worn out situation in your life.
Shoes that feel heavy may signify something heavy in your life that you’re dragging around.
New shoes may symbolize an opportunity to move forward.
Shoes that pinch or are too small can mean that you have outgrown a situation.
Sandals could stand for being causal or the need for relaxation.
High heels meaning may be going to a higher level.

Once again, I would like to point out that one dream symbol could have hundreds of meanings, for everyone’s life experience and their current situation is different. Add in the person’s feelings and/or other symbol and now there are thousands of possible meanings.

Let’s expand on how a shoe symbol would have different meanings for different people by the following example:

A person is wearing high heels.

If a man was wearing high heels in a dream, most likely he would feel uncomfortable while trying not to fall.

However, that dream would show a deeper meaning for a man who had been suppressing his desire to dress up in women’s clothing.

A woman, who has a shoe addiction, may feel the thrill of wearing a new pair of shoes. Or another meaning is she needs to wear a pair of heels she already owns.

The following dream is a personal dream from my book Learn the Secret Language of Dreams found in the precognitive dreams’ chapter. This dream from 1992 illustrates how my past work situation, feelings, and other symbols can affect a shoe’s dream meaning:

I had just finished watching the first part of a movie and was very excited to watch the second half. A couple of the salesmen and the service manager were there. One of the salesmen told me not to bother watching the second half – that it was not worth it. I was upset and angry because I really wanted to watch it. I looked over to where the service manager was sitting, then the bottom of service manager’s shoe really stood out, I noticed there was a hole and another little hole was starting.

Interpretation

I woke from that dream knowing exactly what it meant because I had been working with symbolism of dreams for a number of years. The first part of the movie was my life up to then. The second part of the movie was what my life could be like in the future. The salesman (who represented certain people and also mainstream ideas) telling me not to bother meant to stay stuck where I was, which made me upset and angry because I was unhappy there. The holes in the service manager’s shoe were the analogy that the job was giving me a “hole in my soul,” and the little hole symbolized that if I stayed the damage to my soul would only get worse. After I had that dream I continued my education in the healing and psychic arts. In 1993, I left that job and began my own private practice.

Hopefully, now you understand how your dream about shoes is not as easy as scrolling through a dream dictionary, instead it’s your own unique message.

Dream Meanings of Being Naked

Dreaming about being nude in a dream is very common, especially in public. The number one interpretation of being naked is vulnerability, which is logical since in everyday life we wear clothing to protect ourselves from being exposed to harm. Here are five other interpretations:

Uncomfortable with your body image.
Shameful of who you are.
Fearful of a secret being uncovered.
Obsessive with how others view you.
Experiencing loss.

Yet, every human is unique in how they think, feel, view, or experience the world. What makes perfect sense to one person, is complete nonsense to another. Let’s take the example of streaking that was popular when I was a child in 1973. In case you don’t know what streaking is, here’s Wikipedia’s definition – streaking is the act of running naked through a public place as a prank, a dare, for publicity or an act of protest.

Most of the streakers were men, yet some women would do it, too. As a child there was no way I would do that, nor would any of my classmates. The act of streaking brought out different emotions for the public, such as: amusement, outrage, fear, embarrassment, shame, shock, curiosity, excitement, and so forth.

If streaking can invoke those types of emotions when we are awake, just imagine the multitude of feelings that are brought to light in our dreams. To comprehend how dream meanings are affected by our feelings, please read Emotions in Dreams, Aids in Dream Interpretation.

To take this a step further on how two different personalities would respond to the same dream. (Please note that this dream is used as an example only and it’s NOT my intention to offend anyone.) The women dreamed:

During a church service, the woman slowly takes off her clothing until she is naked. Everyone is staring at her in horror. Then the naked woman looks up to see the statue of Jesus come to life, when he looks at her, Jesus’s smile radiates pure love.

If a nun had this dream, most likely she would be ashamed and horrified. Although, the message of the dream could be she needs to lighten up, not be so ridged with her religious teaching, and be more loving towards her students.

A stripper, who had the same dream, may awaken feeling very comfortable. Perhaps she’s feeling amused at the way the church members reacted. Her dream could also be validation that Jesus still loves her despite what she does for a living.

To assist your interpretation of a naked dream, note the following: the dream’s location, parts of the body exposed, your feelings, are you alone or in public, yours or other people’s reaction to you being naked. Once you’ve made a notation of all that, ponder on what has just occurred or is occurring in your life. Are you having any issues with anyone? What’s happening in your work life? Do you need to undergo any changes? Your dream wasn’t random and needs to be analyzed to grasp its meaning.
