Want to Create an Oracle Card Deck?
Are you like me and love oracle cards? Perhaps you always wanted to create an oracle card deck, but never knew how, where to start, or if you wanted to dedicate the time. I can relate! I’ve been wanting to create a dream interpretation oracle deck, received messages from my angels to do it, and heard it from two psychics. Yet I waited for the perfect timing, which is now.
In this blog post, I will give you the information that I’ve researched so far on the how-tos of creating an oracle deck to save you research time. This blog is packed with information for creating an Indie deck that is accurate to the best of my ability. If you are interested in having your deck published through a publisher, here are three publishers to help you on your journey – U.S. Games, Schiffer Publishing, and Beyond Words. Warning – it’s not an easy process to go with a publisher and you won’t have the free range of creativity as you would as an Indie.
Before going into the process, I would like to point out that people do buy Indie decks. Why? Folks enjoy Indie oracle and tarot decks since they are unique and carry the energy of the maker’s love. Large companies miss these exclusive qualities. Often the Indie creator involves their social media and email following in the steps to make the deck and people enjoy the final outcome.
Create an Oracle Card Deck
The first thing to realize is that there is no structure or rules when it comes to oracle decks; therefore, you can make the deck in any format your desire. Yay! This rebel enjoys doing it her way! However, if you prefer a system and guidelines, then a tarot deck is the best way for you to proceed as it has a standard format to follow. With an oracle deck you can have two to hundreds of individualized cards. Plus on any topic you desire: Goddess, angels, cats, dogs, birds, fairies, chakras, crystals, witchcrafts, or in my case – dream interpretation.
Also, during your oracle deck creation process – pay attention to the messages you receive in your nighttime dreams, your daytime intuition, and messages from your angels and spirit guides for additional guidance.
Basic Steps
These are ten steps to create an oracle card deck:
Figure out the concept of your oracle deck.
Decide if there will be a guidebook.
Jot down the title of each card.
Write down each card’s meaning.
Proofread the writing and have some else edit it.
Begin or hire someone to do the artwork individualized cards.
Buy or find photos and/or use a program to make the artwork for the cards.
Produce the guidebook as a paperback or in a PDF.
Prepare the cards for the printer’s template.
Get the cards printed.
Artwork for Your Deck
Before you begin with figuring out the artwork, check out other oracle decks to see what you dislike and what makes you say, “Awesome!” If you’re talented enough to do your own artwork, go for it. Some people use apps or programs to do graphic artwork. Hiring someone can be expensive, unless you find a student or a starving artist.
When I was six or seven, I took my art teacher to the side, and whispered in her ear, “I got a secret.” My teacher asked what the secret was, and I responded, “I can’t draw.” I commend her for not cracking up in my face. But the truth is, my talent is very lacking in that area. Can you relate to my artistic abilities? Then do what I plan on doing, find photos or drawings that are free for commercial use. Warning! Do NOT Google a photo that you like and use it as you could be sued if it’s copyrighted! Pixby and Unsplash are two sites that I use for my pins for Pinterest. It would be nice to buy the artist or photographer a cup of coffee for their photos. Or go to a site where you pay for photos. If you choose, use a program to alter them.

Printing Your Deck
Okay, you took the big step to create your oracle card deck, now it’s time to find a printer for them. Using a local print shop can be expensive, unless you are lucky enough to have a loved one who owns the company!
There are companies that have print on demand services, which is nice if you only want anywhere from a few to a hundred oracle decks. An added bonus is that some of these POD companies allow you to have a shop page for your customers to save you from having to collect taxes and do the shipping for you.
If you plan on printing more than a hundred decks then you will save money using a printer that does bulk printing. Nonetheless, you will be responsible for collecting taxes, shipping, and any damages or lost items that occur during shipping.
It’s important for you to decide: what size cards you want, thickness of the card, gold or silver tint edge, and a glossy or matte finish for your cards. Next, what type of package do you desire for the deck: a velvet bag, plastic box, tin box, box with lid and bottom, shrink wrapped without a box, or a tuck box (that is used for playing card deck)? Luckily, some printers will send samples; however, you might have to pay for the sample.
Since I live in the United States, I will give you the printers that I found here, yet it’s important to mention popular printers in China. To my shock, during my research I discovered many large publishers like Hay House have their products printed in China. Duh, I never noticed the “Made in China” on the bottom of the boxes. Why do large companies go out of the country to have the decks printed? Because they’re saving a ton of money, even with the VAT tax. In a Facebook creators group I’m in, some of the members from the United Kingdom used Chinese printers. Personally, I feel it’s good to support the printers in the country you live in, although you may feel differently.
Print On Demand
Below are printers that you can use to create an oracle card deck:
United States
Drive Thru Cards – https://www.drivethrucards.com/
Game Crafter – https://www.thegamecrafter.com/ (I used them for my Purrs for Humans deck)
Superior POD – https://www.superiorpod.com/
Shuffledink – https://shuffledink.com/
Print Play Games – https://www.printplaygames.com/
China
Make Playing Cards – https://www.makeplayingcards.com/
Printers Studio – https://www.printerstudio.com/
*Even though Printers Studio is located in San Francisco, it’s obvious that they are a subdivision of Make Playing Cards located in China. Honestly, their prices seem high to me compared to other print on demand companies.
Bulk Printers
Print Ninja (United States) – https://printninja.com/
Shenzhen Wangjing Printing Co. (China) – https://wangjingchina.com/product/custom-oracle-cards/
I’m sure more companies do bulk printing, but I’m not sure whether or not I desire to go that route, so I didn’t research it more.
Last Thoughts on Printers
Before your final decision on picking a company, research the company. Then email or call them to get a vibe if they’re right for you. Always get one demo deck printed before placing a small or large order to find any mistakes and view the quality of your cards. Lastly, don’t be afraid to switch printers if you’re not satisfied with their work.
Crowdfunding
Should you create an oracle card deck, then use a crowdfunding site? During my search on possibly raising money for my deck, I noticed that Kickstarter and IndieGoGo were very popular for creators of oracle and tarot decks. In fact, I was shocked at the amount of money they raised!
With Kickstarter, you set an amount to raise for your deck. If you don’t hit the set amount – you don’t get a cent, no matter how much work you did! IndieGoGo also has fixed funding like Kickstarter, yet they also have flexible funding, where you keep the money raised even if you didn’t reach your goal. Both companies take a percentage of the money and there’s a fee for processing the backer’s payment.
It’s Work
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could sign up for a campaign, do nothing, and money flies in? Giggle, you might as well wave a magic wand! Crowdfunding is a ton of work during the campaign. People need to be aware of your project; therefore, you need to keep your following informed through email/social media and may need to pay for advertising. It’s important for your page to be as polished as possible with a well written description, and upscale videos/ photos of the cards. Plus keeping your funders informed of the process. Even with this work, you may not hit your projected amount. Or raise the money, but miscalculate the cost of your project, and end up owing money.
Finally, if you do decide to go this route, please have a website or at least a large amount of followers on social media. It’s better to have both. Why? Nobody wants to back someone’s project that is an unknown on the internet, as too many people have been scammed. Therefore, if you don’t have a social media following or website – build your platform while you create an oracle card deck.
Where to Sell Your Oracle Decks?
This is a question that you need to ponder during your creation process. There are three ways you can sell your cards. If there is another method, please let me know in the comments.
On Your Own
Sell the cards on your website, at fairs, and as a wholesaler through stores for the largest profit, nevertheless; you will be responsible for:
Finding customers.
Processing payments.
Refunding unsatisfied customers.Collecting and paying taxes.
Bookkeeping.
Storing of decks and shipping supplies.
Shipping in your country and worldwide.
Replacing damaged or lost packages.
Paying for a post office box, if you don’t want to use your home as the return address.
Having to deal with thieves and scammers.
Online Stores
I noticed that Etsy is a popular place for Indie oracle and tarot decks; however, there are other platforms as well. What is nice about some of these online stores is they have a huge amount of established customers, collect sales or VAT tax, ship or give you a shipping label that doesn’t have your home address. Of course, they will take a percentage for these conveniences.
For those of you who desire to have your decks on Amazon, be aware that there is a charge for you to be a vendor, and you have to follow their ever changing rules. One colleague of mine had Amazon return her un-bought decks with damaged boxes!
Print On Demand Store
An easy way to sell your decks is through the companies that print them. You can have your own shop page through: Game Crafter, Drive Thru Playing Cards, Printers Studio, and Make Playing Cards. These printers will help you with fulfilling your Kickstarter or Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. The Game Crafter has their own crowdfunding.
Having your cards for sales on these websites lessens the work because you don’t have to have a website, collect taxes, or do the shipping. Instead, you receive a percentage of the sale. You still need to market and send customers to your shop page.
Final Thoughts
Hopefully, this blog post inspires you to create an oracle card deck, to do more research, and to create or continue building your platform. I know it’s a ton of work; nonetheless, as an author of six books and Purrs for Humans oracle deck, I know the rewards are worth it. Oh, what a feeling to at last give birth to an oracle deck and hold it in your hands! Even better when people buy and love your card deck!
I will keep you updated on my dream interpretation oracle deck journey. And just to let you know, the Indie decks in the blog post’s header picture above and below pin are from Dyan Garris, Jacqueline Lunger, and myself.

Dreaming of a Deceased Pet
When a pet dies it’s always painful, whether the pet is a cat, dog, bird, hamster, snake… It’s not uncommon dreaming of a deceased pet, but is it a visitation or another dream category? I’ve written about this topic for departed fathers and mothers; however, there are people who feel pets aren’t as important as people and/or have no soul. Yet, death affects everyone differently and who are we to judge someone’s grief, whether it’s a human or pet? Dreams about our pets help ease our pain.
Dreaming of a Deceased Pet
In this blog post I will go over how our pets let us know they’re about to cross, comfort us after they pass, visit us, and when it’s not a visitation dream.
About to Cross Over
There are times a pet owner knows that there’s something off with their pet: not as active, lack of appetite, moody, and so on. Although, love of your pet could trigger denial. Your pet will visit you beforehand to inform of their upcoming passing. In 2008, my cat, Midnite, visited me in a dream as follows:
I put Midnite in the enclosed back porch and used a hammer to nail in the boards on the doorway to keep her in. Even though the door was boarded up, she escaped through a hole in the wall. I was so upset, although she was happy.
Now, I realize this dream is very symbolic, but I had been interpreting my dreams for a long time, and recognized the feeling of grief after a loved one departs to the other side. Midnite died in my arms shortly after that dream.
[image error]Midnite
After Crossing the Rainbow Bridge
Many clients have told me how they have dreams of their pets a day or two after they died. This is not unusual for both humans and pets visit their loved ones to let them know they’re okay. Why do they visit in dreams? The following is a paragraph from my blog “Dreams of a Deceased Mother,” which was briefly mentioned in the first paragraph.
Those who have departed are now vibrating at a higher energetic frequency. While being alive on Earth, we must vibrate at a lower frequency to be able to maintain a solid form. It is much easier for us Earthlings to reach a higher frequency in the dream state. For those who are newly departed, it’s less demanding to lower themselves into our dream state than the physical awake state. Hence, the reason our deceased mothers appear in our dreams as it is a halfway meeting point.
The same applies to pet’s energy. Besides alerting their owner that it’s time for he/she to cross over the rainbow bridge, it also a process to assist him/her to let go of their family member in order to move forward.
Visitation Dreams
There are times when you’re dreaming of a deceased pet that it’s an actual visit. How can you tell? Your pet is spending time with you, whether that’s playing, giving and receiving love, or through their voice and/or body movements. Here are three examples:
Sleeping with You
Many clients and friends have told me that they feel, smell, or sense their pet on their bed in their usual sleeping spot during their dreams or right before waking up.
Barking
A family member, who is a cat owner, told me that she dreamed of a dog barking. She woke up thinking that doesn’t sound like my neighbor’s dog; therefore, it immediately occurred to her that was the sound of her dog’s bark who had passed away.
Goodbye
When Merlin, my white cat, was a kitten. I had the following dream:
Midnite was on top of a pedestal and jumped off, then Merlin leaped up to the top of the pedestal.
This was Midnite’s way of showing me that she approved of Merlin, happy that I had another kitty in my life, and wouldn’t be visiting me as much.
[image error]Merlin as a Kitten
Not a Visitation
How do you know it’s not a visitation when you are dreaming of a deceased pet? Simply it doesn’t feel like a visit, nor are you spending time with them. If you’re dreaming of past events, then obviously it’s not a visitation. One huge sign is if there are other emotions than love; for instance, anger, sadness, or jealousy. This dream is pointing to unresolved issues you have with your pet, which need to be addressed.
Final Words
Losing a beloved pet is in reality – losing a family member. Allow yourself as much time as you need to grieve. Ignore those who say it’s just an animal as it’s their lost to have never experienced that kind of love. Reflect on the times you shared. And remember that’s it better to have loved than never to experience the love.

Dog Dream Meanings
Dogs are man’s best friends and also very popular among women; therefore, it’s no surprise that dogs will appear in our dreams. Yet, just as there are many different types of dog breeds, there are many possibilities of dog dream meanings. This is why interpreting your dog symbol can have many different messages depending on the feelings within the dream, past experiences, present situations, and possible future circumstances.
Dog Dream Meanings
Here are seven possible interpretations for symbol of dogs:
Loyalty.
Unconditional love.
Best friend.
Ugly woman or man.
Someone who barks a lot.
A prevented man.
You are accepting bad behavior.
Feelings in the Dream
Feelings can change the dog dream meanings for people, even if it’s the same dream scene. Let’s use the following example:
A dog jumps up on your bed and licks you on the face.
Feeling joyful could mean that you’re a dog lover.
Being disgusted might be the emotion of someone who thinks dogs are dirty creatures.
Having fear would be appropriate for a person afraid of dogs.
Past Experiences
Events that occurred in your life alter the dream interpretation for dogs. For instance:
You dream of a dog barking.
You recognized the sound of your deceased dog bark and knew it was him/her saying hello.
Someone who was bitten after the dog barked could be having a warning dream about an aggressive person who’s always talking.
Somebody who used to work at a dog shelter is receiving a message about their current work using symbolism from their former job.
Present Situations
We often have solution dreams to assist us with choices or problems that are currently happening. This is where dream interpretation is very helpful. Here are a few illustrations:
Trying to figure out if she should continue to go out with a man, Nancy falls asleep. She dreams he turns into a dog, who continues to lick her body despite telling him to stop, and then bites her throat.
Determining if whether or not he should do business with a potential vendor, Mike ask for guidance in his dream. He dreams that his unethical neighbor’s dog is cozying up to this vendor.
Wondering all day if a job offer is right for her, Veronica finally drifts off to sleep. In her dream, a beautiful golden retriever is blocking the door at her current office, then in the next dream scene the dog leads her into the new job office.
Possible Future Circumstances
It’s possible for you to have precognitive dreams of upcoming future events. The following are examples of this:
A single woman dreams of German Sheppard walking, yet all she can view of the dog’s owner is his business pants and dress shoes. Months later, at a party she meets a businessman who loves his German Sheppard.
You dream that a dog is pooping in your closet. A week later, you catch your roommate wearing your clothes without asking for permission.
A man dreams of a puppy whining in pain on his desk at work, vomits, then walks out of the office. He recognizes the significance a year later when he left the job that was causing havoc on his health and begins his new business.
Hopefully, all these dream examples will help you ponder on what your dog dream was really about. If you need assistance interpreting your dreams, please visit dream interpretation services. To expand your personal growth and spirituality, check out spiritual growth coaching.

Dreams of a Deceased Mother
Mothers leave a gigantic imprint on us, whether it’s our birth mother or the woman who raised us. Hence, the reason we have dreams of a deceased mother. In this blog, I will go over the following types of a deceased mother’s dreams: before death, immediately after death, visitations, and resolving issues.
Four Types of Dreams of a Deceased Mother
[image error]
Before Death
This is what I call a heads up dream that prepares you of an upcoming passing of a loved one, which has happened to me twice. Once with my mother and the second time with my cat, Midnite. Though the dream with my mom happened decades ago, I remember like it was yesterday.
Pamela’s Dream
In the so-called dream, my head was facing towards the right, when I felt tugging on my hair from someone in back of me. I felt terrified, turned my head to the left, and instantly felt relieved when I saw it was my mother. No words were spoken; however, the feeling of love was intense, as it permeated my every cell and the entire room.
After the Dream
Upon awakening, my first thought was my mother has died, and I waited for the phone call, which never came. My sister called a few days later asking if I wanted to would join her on visiting our mom. Of course, I went, and a week later she passed.
If you dream of your mother departing to the other side, does it mean she will die? Not necessarily, although I would suggest to reach out to her just in case. The only way I can describe the dreams I had is they were similar to a precognitive dream where there is a feeling of knowing this will happen.
In my case, the feeling of love (that I never before/still haven’t experienced in the waking world) was an enormous clue. Because of that experience, I comprehend what people who had a near death experience (NDE) meant when they said words can never describe what their NDE felt like. My mom’s love that I felt is beyond description!
Immediately After Death
Many people have experienced their mother visiting them in their dreams, even if they didn’t know their mother had passed. Why does our mother visit us in the dreamtime and not while we are awake?
Those who have departed are now vibrating at a higher energetic frequency. While being alive on Earth, we must vibrate at a lower frequency to be able to maintain a solid form. It is much easier for us Earthlings to reach a higher frequency in the dream state. For those who are newly departed, it’s less demanding to lower themselves into our dream state than the physical awake state. Hence, the reason our deceased mothers appear in our dreams as it is a halfway meeting point.
Now, why does your mom visit right after her passing? To let you know she is okay, that she loves you, and hopefully, to ease the grief of her death. This is your mother’s way of saying, “Hey, I’m not gone, just in another form, and I’m here when you need me.”
It’s not unusual for a few siblings to receive a visitation right after their mother departs and possibly at the same time. Remember that those who are in spirit are not trapped in space and time as those who remain after their departure.
Visitation Dreams
I like to point out that immediately after dreams are usually visitation dreams; nonetheless, visitation dreams can also occur weeks, months, years, and decades after your mother’s death. Again, those who are on the other side are not bound by time.
What are visitation dreams? Just like the word implies, these dreams are visits from your deceased mother. You will actually feel like you’re hanging out with your mom, whether you are having a conversation through words or telepathically. Conversations are usually simple, whether that’s I love you, I’m proud of you, or find my valuables in the back of the closet. Actions are uncomplicated, which can be a hug, touching your face, or showing an object they like you to have. All in all, visitation dreams are very loving and peaceful.
Resolving Issues Dreams
If you’re angry, sad, or unforgiving of your mother and not dealing with this, guess where those issues go? That’s right, in your dreams! What you deny or resist, often appears in the messages of the nighttime to help resolve those issues.
When you’re dreaming of fighting with your mom, crying about her passing, or feeling unforgiving over her behavior, then you are working through your mother issues. These dreams tend to be similar as other problem type dreams. Your dreams are a gift, I know it doesn’t feel that way; nevertheless, you are having them to clear out your baggage with your mother in order to have a happier and peaceful life.
Mixed Dreams of a Deceased Mother
Could you have more than one dream style of your departed mother? Absolutely! If your mother is letting you know of her impending death, this can trigger a dream of unresolved mom issues. The same is true if she visited you immediately after her departure. Perhaps, the next dream scene may be grieving her.
Having a resolving issues dream can alert your mother to visit you for easier resolution. Or a visitation dream will assist in ridding any issues. To find out more on this subject read my client’s dream in Dreams of a Deceased Father and Pamela’s dream in Messages of Love from the Departed.
Loss of your mother is one of the most difficult situations you will ever go through. Dreams will assist with the healing, whether that is knowing she is okay or to resolve your issues. Please keep in mind that a mother’s love can penetrate many planes of existence. And if your mom never express her love during her life on Earth, she can now in the afterlife…
Have you ever had a dream about your departed mother? You are welcome to share them in the comments; however, I do not interpret dreams for public comments. Lessons from a Chicken
Did you know that a chicken can teach you lessons? This is what Hermione, the neighborhood chicken, has been doing. For this post I will use my tagline, Nighttime Messages, Daytime Wisdom to showcase how chickens educate us. First, you will learn the chicken’s dream meanings, then I will go over the different chicken lessons Hermione has reinforced.
Nighttime Messages
Once again, I will remind you that symbols in dreams are unique to each dreams. Why? Everyone has their own unique past issues, present experiences, and feelings; therefore, symbols have a different dream meaning for each individual. Please keep this in mind for the following:
Seven Chicken Dream Meanings
To be afraid.
The need to be in a group.
Something is fertile and/or ready to give birth.
A desire for something to take flight, yet not traveling far.
Your boyfriend/husband has more than one woman.
You need to keep nick-picking at something.
Someone in your life keeps pecking at you.
Different Viewpoints
Chicken symbols in dream interpretation will vary depending on the person perspective, for instance:
A farmer views chicken as their livelihood.
The chicken is your pet.
Your favorite main course is chicken.
You were attacked by a flock of chickens.
Chickens disgust you.
These viewpoints will affect the dream’s meaning, which is why when you dream of a chicken you must think about what’s occurring in your life today, in the past or future, and problems that need to be solved. Plus, take into consideration the actions, other people, and symbols within the dream.
Daytime Wisdom
Back in March of 2019, my man and I were coming back from a walk when I exclaimed, “Is that a chicken?” It surely was to our surprise! This was the start of my chicken education/reminder lessons.
Six Chicken Lessons
Be Brave
I was brought up in the suburbs; hence, I lacked any experience with chickens. When this chicken first came up to me, I didn’t know what to expect and was nervous that she would peck me with her large beak. Not knowing how the chicken or my cats would respond to one another, I wouldn’t allow my cats, Merlin (white cat) and Rhiannon (black cat), too close to the chicken. Honestly, the first few times the chicken was braver than me, which people thought was hysterical.
Seek Information
One of my neighbors, my Facebook friends, and I were concerned about where this chicken came from. We didn’t think she was wild, but what happens if she got hit by a car, stolen, or some other misfortune. It was during a walk where I felt compelled to travel down a side street that I never bothered with. Where I observed the chicken surrounded by cats on a front porch, which answered the question why she wasn’t fearful of Merlin and Rhiannon!
There was a young couple across the street from the house with cats and chicken, so I asked if they knew who owned the chicken. Turns out, they owned her, Hermione, and I met some of their other chickens. I informed them about the distance she walked, that’s far for her chicken legs, and how I fed her bread. They were fine with me feeding her and told me to keep any eggs.
[image error]Hermione with her Mommy and Flock
Everyone was relieved when I spread the Hermione chicken news.
Don’t Put Your Eggs in One Basket
Even though I’ve practiced this with my eBooks among other things, it is funny the way Hermione reinforces this chicken lesson. To my knowledge, Hermione hits up three houses during her daily food walks; however, we all agree she probably has more.
My neighbor who lives across the street, not only feeds Hermione, she also leaves water on the porch for the chicken. One day, Hermione ate, drank water, and took a nap on my neighbor’s doormat. Ah, the life of a chicken.
Not only has Hermione been fed by my next door neighbor, but has walked into her house twice! The first time she grabbed her camera because no one would ever believe that a chicken walked into her house. Another time, my neighbor was in her backyard and shooed the chicken away from the backdoor. When she went to the front of her home, she heard Hermione pecking her door from inside of the house. Giggle, that’s one bold chicken!
Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?
Answer – because she was full from the neighborhood’s feeding her and went home to take a nap!
Share the Wealth
The hens are finally catching on to Hermione’s activity! I was feeding her and saw another chicken running across the road. Then, I fed both chickens.
When my mate came home, I told him that instead of telling my chicken story, I emailed him a picture. Hence, the lesson of a picture tells a thousand words. Upon opening the email, his response was, “Two chickens! I can’t believe there are two chickens!” Grin!
Flock Together
Hermione still comes alone in the morning; nonetheless, there are now three chickens in the hood at dinnertime! Perhaps more biker chicks will join them? We were trying to figure out a name for them and finally agreed upon a name I often call Hermione – the Bak-Bak Gang!

Stay tuned for the next chicken adventure…

Environment Dreams
Did you know that while you’re dreaming what is occurring in your surrounding area can affect your dreams? How about your inner bodily function, can they alter your dreams? Yes to both questions. Even when you’re sleeping it’s important to be aware of what’s happening in your environment. Why? Because these dreams alert us to danger or issues within our bodies. Let’s examine each of these types of environment dreams.
Outer Environment Dreams
It’s quite possible this type of dream occurred back in the cavemen time! Can you imagine what would have happened to the human race if they continued sleeping in a cave when a lion entered? Talk about an easy meal for the lion!
Fast forward to our timeline, we may no longer be sleeping in caves, yet we still need to be warned of danger. For instance, you could have a dream about a creepy stranger that wakes you up. Upon awakening, you hear someone breaking into your home. If you continue to sleep there’s a strong possibility that this intruder could have harmed you! Instead, you are prepared to defend yourself.
Other possibilities of outer environment dreams are when your home is on fire, a car is about to crash into your bedroom, or a dangerous storm is occurring. Again, these dreams keep you safe.
Sometimes an outer environment dream uses other senses besides sight. Many, many moons ago on an extremely hot June night, I had a dream about bad body odor, which I still smelled upon awakening. Since my bedroom window was open, I looked out onto the roof outside, yet didn’t see anyone – only darkness. I decided to close and lock that window, even though I lived on the second floor without an air conditioner. Better hot and sweaty, I thought to myself, then raped or dead. The next day I got an air conditioner.
Inner Environment Dreams
These types of dreams tend to be more humorous because rarely danger is involved. An example of this is when you have to urinate. You could dream of not being able to find a toilet, or find a bunch that are occupied, or there’re no door on it and a bunch of people are standing around it. Upon awakening, you get out of bed in a hurry to relieve yourself.
Another common inner environment dream theme is not being able to quench your thirst no matter how much you are drinking. In the dream you could have drank a gallon of water or keep refilling your cup at a soda fountain without any relief. Boy, are you thirsty when you wake up!
Why would we have those two dream examples? To keep from messing up our sleeping area, to avoid a possible bladder infection, or prevent becoming dehydrated.
If you journal your dreams, you may wonder if you should bother recording these types. My suggestion is to journal environment dreams for two reasons. The first reason is to help keep you consistent. Secondly, there may be a symbol or an action that will be useful in interpreting future dreams.

Precognitive Dream of an Unwanted Kitten
For those of you who don’t know what a precognitive dream is, it’s when you have a dream about an upcoming future event. The actual dream rarely plays out the exact same way the incident occurs; often your dream will have weird symbolism and altered actions. In some precognitive dreams, you will experience a knowing this will take place. Other times, you won’t recognize that the dream was a prediction of future event until the situation unfolds.
There’s also a third circumstance where the dream has a message for a past or current situation and is still a precognitive dream at the same time. This is what happened to me recently, hence the reason for this blog. Here’s my dream:
I was running late for work and needed to wash up and change my clothes. As I approached the master bedroom bathroom, I saw my sister in there with a hot iron in her hand that she dropped and it hit my cat, Merlin, by his eye. My sister walked out of the bathroom acting like it was no big deal, as I ran to check on Merlin. Luckily, the iron burned the fur by his right eye instead of the actual eye. I felt bad for him, yet at the same time really didn’t have time for him because I had so much work to do. Compassion won and I asked him, “Are you okay, baby?” Merlin started to do whiny meows that I was able to understand as if he was meowing in the English language.

Upon awakening, I understood how this related to a recent situation of mine. My sister represented a woman who disagreed with a couple of ideas I had. After our conversation I felt my intuitive knowing was disregarded and was upset. This waking incident was shown in the dream symbolically as my sister walking away without being phased that she had hurt Merlin. Merlin was an aspect of my third eye and feelings that were not accepted, and the burn mark was for my hurt feelings.
However, the dream also had another meaning, which became clearer as time went on. That morning, I put Merlin’s harness and leash on for his morning walk. When we walked onto the porch, I noticed an adorable orange with white kitten that was meowing at my neighbor in her yard. My neighbor thought it was one of the feral kittens from the neighbors down the street (who feed feral cats, but don’t get medical care for them – grr); however, I told her that feral cats don’t meow. We each took a turn trying to get the kitten to go to that house, yet the kitten refused.
As horrible as I felt for the kitten’s circumstances, I didn’t want to become involved. Why? Because I didn’t want to infect my own two cats with the kitten’s ‘possible disease’, plus I have a parakeet and beta fish, too. Kitten’s vet bills are very expensive. And I’m busy with my own business. When I felt horrible and teary, my guides kept reminding me that it wasn’t my responsibility. I did give the kitten some dry food that he/she wouldn’t eat.
Three times the kitten went in the middle of the road. And so we forced him/her to move onto the grass to avoid being hit. Perhaps the kitten wanted to die? Or didn’t know better?

This kitten spent the night seeking shelter under different cars when it was pouring out and the next day he/she wouldn’t leave my neighbor alone. My neighbor ended up bringing it to the shelter because she wasn’t able to care for it either. Turns out the kitten wasn’t eating, had upper respiratory problems, fleas, a blind left eye, and God knows what else. My neighbor received a call from the shelter that they put the kitten down to avoid it suffering a few more days before it would die.
After this sorrowful experience, it occurred to me how my strange dream was also a precognitive dream as follows:
Our master bathroom in the dream was related to an actual experience of mine. The first summer I lived in my present home, either a person or cat dropped off a newborn kitten in our front yard. At one point, Chris brought the kitten into the master bathroom. I was paranoid that my two cats, Merlin and Rhiannon, could catch a disease from the newborn, he honored my request to put the kitten on the porch. Sadly, the kitten passed during the night. This part of the dream really illustrated the point I’m always blogging about on how our past experiences will affect a dream. Therefore, the event in the master bathroom was a representation of an abandoned kitten.
My sister was used for two meanings in the dream. The first is she loves orange and white cats; therefore, a metaphor for the orange and white kitten. Secondly, my sister was representing how some folks don’t care about the cat’s welfare and their action of just walking off.
Merlin’s injury was symbolic for the kitten’s blind eye, maybe by an accident? Also, my feelings of I’m too busy to take care of Merlin were really for the kitten.
What still is upsetting to me (as my eyes tear up while I’m typing) is this kitten’s tragedy could have been avoided if people were responsible. The kitten was either a victim of someone dropping it off in our neighborhood. It wouldn’t be the first time! Or the people who are feeding the feral cats without spending the money to neuter or spay them!
When you drop off a domesticated animal in an unknown neighborhood you’re subjecting it to: food for birds of prey, getting hit by a car, attacked by animals, caught by animal control, brought to an animal shelter that will euthanized unwanted animals, being rejected by people who aren’t responsible for it, or surviving while adding more unwanted kittens or puppies! Very rarely will someone adopt your pet.

For anyone who feeds feral cats, DON”T, unless you’re willing to catch them and pay for fixing them and other medical care. Why? Male cats help female cats become pregnant and ONE female cat can give birth to 180 Kittens in a Lifetime! This is the reason millions of animals are killed each year, it’s not the shelter’s fault – it’s society’s fault!
If you can’t afford the vet bill for all the shots a kitten needs or to spay/neutered them, then adopt an older cat that already had these procedures done. Towns often have free or low cost yearly shots. What is really needed is people who can volunteer at a shelter and/or foster kittens and cats until their forever home is available.
Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox; nevertheless, if I only educated one person about the perils of our cat population, then it was worth it to write this blog.
Perhaps there was a purpose for this precognitive dream and experience of the unwanted kitten so people could learn about both subjects. Precognitive dreams often alert us to upcoming danger, yet other times we are informed of upcoming happy times.
