This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, Week Thirty-Two - "New Stuff."

It is Week Thirty-Two of This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, our terrifically self-absorbed effort to post one self-portrait per week for one year. This week's self-portrait is titled "New Stuff" because well, we're working on some new stuff, dad stuff, and there's some Bruce Springsteen in there as well, and we'll see where it goes. We will also keep you apprised of our progress. We promise. In the interim though, please feel free to track the project in its entirety at the Flickr and if

Oh, this is so freaking cool. Orange Alert Press has announced the upcoming release of its new book Prose. Poem. A Novel. by Jamie Iredell. Sweetness.

Prose. Poems. A Novel. is goodness and light. Well that, and chicks, bars, violence and metaphors. So please check this out immediately. And then pre-order it. There you go, it just feels right, doesn't it?

Hamilton. Davis. Wilson. The July ml press trifectorate is in the house. Technically, its in the office, but that just doesn't flow right, you know?

Uh-huh. We got new ml press love in the mail and we are quite pleased, or is it sated? Not sure, but its probably not sated, because we are never sated when it comes to reading. Anyway, we have the July trio - so dark in the wolf's maw by kevin wilson, where we go when we leave by craig davis and from the hip by TBWCYL, Inc. favorite mary hamilton - all of which include references to knives among other things and, like their predecessors in this fine series, are short on dialogue and long on moo

There's Something Wrong With Sven by Greg Gerke. And a podcast.

Okay, so two things, both Gerke-centric. First, we have read Greg Gerke's new flash fiction collection There's Something Wrong With Sven and while these stories are at times surreal and at other times dark, they hang together because regardless of tone or setting the characters are always searching for answers. Well, that and sex. Second, we also had the chance to podcast with Greg and are happy to share Episode Twenty of This Podcast Will Change Your Life - "A Lot of Jibberish" with you as well

CCLaP update, shattered hips, well-wishes and such.

We want to take a moment to give a big shout-out to Jason Pettus of CCLaP and wish him a speedy recovery. Jason was in a bike accident, shattered his hip and is currently recuperating at his parent's crib in St. Louis. He wants everyone to know that he's doing better and hopes to have the site up and running again in a couple of weeks. In the interim though, please feel free to visit his Facebook page for updates and photos and if you are so inclined please leave him a message and let him know t

Check it out - A Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine anniversary sale at the Orange Alert.

It's true, it is the one-year anniversary of Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine and to celebrate this most epic event the Orange Alert is selling copies of Most Likely for $10 all month. Pretty cool, yes? We think so, especially if you are looking for tasteful coasters and paperweights with a literary bent. Meanwhile, for those of you who missed the Most Likely book release party, we have some footage below that just might change your life as it has ours.

This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, Week Thirty-One - "Anniversary."

No, the title of this week's edition of This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, our terrifically self-absorbed effort to post one self-portrait per week for one year is not related to marriage, or even this project per se. Instead, it was one year ago that Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine was released by the Orange Alert, which is nice, and much appreciated, and as we plan to celebrate the anniversary in other ways still be determined, please consider this a kick-off to these still

The new edition of This Zine Will Change Your Life is live, featuring Benjamin Carr and I Fight Dragons and so totally heroic. Or something like that.

The new edition of This Zine Will Change Your Life is live and so totally heroic. Or something like that. We have a new story, Ah Yes, You Are Attempting a New Way of Life... by Benjamin Carr, which we are way excited about, and, as always, photo action from Adam Lawrence, a music selection from Jason Behrends and angry town hall prose love from Pete Anderson. We hope you enjoy this edition and we appreciate all shout-outs and links. Finally, please note, that we think you are special. Well that
