The Rejection Collection. Goodness.

We have always enjoyed Jac Jemc's quite singular blog The Rejection Collection, but we had forgotten just how enjoyable it can be until we stumbled onto Rejection 191 and Jac's recent exchange with the editor of EOAGH. It is most awesome and for more Jac-related awesomeness please do check out This Podcast Will Change Your Life, Episode Eleven - Teenage Heart Throb, which we recorded with her earlier this year.

Dear Everybody by Michael Kimball.

Right off the bat, we should say that we are feeling all quasi-Lovelace with this multi-photo, and multi-leveled, is that the right word, blog post/book blurbage. Still within moments of delving into Dear Everybody by Michael Kimball, the dark overlord of all things writing, film and interview - see the most excellent Michael Kimball Writes Your Lifestory (on a postcard) series, and please note that TBWCYL, Inc. spokesperson Ben Tanzer has been so postcarded, loved it and thinks you should...

Post-mortem? Jim Carroll and The Petting Zoo.

In continuing our streak of riffing about bearded New Yorkers, or at least New York-related artists and writers, we wanted to draw your attention to a new piece in The New York Times that discusses not only the final reclusive days of Jim Carroll and his return home to Inwood in upper Manhattan, but his long-time efforts to complete his first novel, tentatively titled The Petting Zoo. It's somehow painful, lyrical and triumphant all at once, like Carroll himself.

A coincidental intersection/weekly round-up between Bored to Death and This Blog Will Change Your Life? Maybe. But we think not. You?

Okay, so we watched the Bored to Death the new HBO joint from Brooklyn writer Jonathan Ames and you know we're still trying to decide what we think about it. We like everyone in it, that's easy, and its about a writer, which is good, but do we need to add another show, maybe not. Still, there is a character named Ray played by the comedian Zach Galifianakis who is the protagonist's sidekick/best friend and it turns out that Ray is modeled on highly acclaimed New York artist/comix dude Dean...

This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, Week Thirty-Seven - "Dear Everybody."

It is week Thirty-Seven of This Self-Portrait Will Change Your Life, our effort to post one self-portrait per week for one year. We have just started reading Dear Everybody by Michael Kimball, hence the title of this week's edition, and while we promise to report back to you when we finish the novel, our prediction at this point? Pain. Lots of pain. Well that and terrific writing. Meanwhile, if you would like to track this project in its entirety you may do so at the Flickr. And if you would...

Has Tim Hall gone nuts? Maybe, but there's a catch.

Our good friend and kick-ass writer Tim Hall is giving it away. Yes, its true free unabridged audio downloads of the complete Full of It are now available. And for a mere $5.00 donation he will read a chapter of the book over the phone to you in that crazy, sexy voice of his. Its good stuff, and Full of It is a wonderful read, but here's the thing to score this sweet deal you need to join his Facebook news group. We are assuming you already have of course, but if you haven't may we suggest

The new edition of This Zine Will Change Your Life is most Seinfeldian. Or something like that. It is also all Erlewine. So enjoy it, all right?

The new edition of This Zine Will Change Your Life is most Seinfeldian. Or something like that, so please see the below link. We have a new piece of flash Flares by David Erlewine, which we are way excited about, and, as always, photo action from Adam Lawrence, a music selection from Jason Behrends and "don't expect us to fix everything for you" prose love from Pete Anderson. We hope you enjoy this edition and we appreciate all shout-outs and links. Finally, please note, that we think you...

This Zine Will Change Your Life and the flickr. Or, if you prefer, the coolness of Adam Lawrence.

P1130966
You have probably been saying to yourself, man, I love This Zine Will Change Your Life, its so scintillating, the writing is brilliant, the music rocks and the photos of that street art, sublime. You may also say though, man, sometimes, I just wish I could look at the photos alone, and maybe, just maybe, look at all those photos collectively and at one time. Well, you can. Totally. You see, Adam Lawrence, overlord of all things photo here at TBWCYL. Inc. has gathered the photos in a set on...
