The Fourth Piece #BlogTour by E. Ardell @E_Ardell

Haha, most people run the other way when I’m about to turn on some music. You can’t guess what I’m going to play. Could be Disney, could be metalcore or bubblegum pop. When I write, though, I usually listen to particular genres of music.
When I’m writing new sections, not editing, I need music with no words to distract me. I have go to soundtracks, like:
The Lord of the Rings Soundtracks (the scores)Harry Potter Soundtracks (the scores)The Craft Soundtrack (the score)Apocalyptica (the instrumentals)EnyaThe Mists of Avalon SoundtrackThe Titanic SoundtrackTroy Soundtrack Ever After SoundtrackMozart, Beethoven, Bach and Vivaldi Or I even put it on the Soundscape Channel on Comcast for wordless tranquility music
When I’m editing, I find myself listening to:30 Seconds to MarsFall Out BoyMy Chemical RomanceBackstreet Boys (Yeah, I said it :D )Britney Spears (Oops, I said it again :D )KPOP (anything really, but I favor songs that come from K-Dramas I’ve been watching lately)JPOP (I favor songs from Inuyasha)Shakira, Laundry ServiceBruno MarsShinedown3 Doors Down3 Days GraceNickelbackBeauty and the BeastHerculesMulanAladdinLion King (the movie and musical)The Little MermaidA Goofy MovieWickedInto the Woods (the original soundtrack)
My neighbors hate me because I’ll play all of that random loops all day and night until I’m done with what I’m working on. The type of music, shifts my mid into different modes. If it’s wordless, I’m ready to sit down and write new stuff. If it’s got a thumping beat and words I know (I’ll even pretend to know the words to the KPOP and JPOP—and I do know the words to some of it, lol) I’m ready to dance around and do edits.

The Embodied Trilogy
by J.B. Dutton
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy/sci-fi

Summary:
The Embodied trilogy is an unusual web of adventure, romance, fantasy, and science fiction.

As she falls for Cruz, a boy at school, and meets warring Embodied siblings Noon and Aranara, Kari starts to question her emotions and finds herself ensnared in a mystery that reaches further than she could possibly have imagined.

In book two, Starley’s Rust, a charismatic young English artist named Starley, who is plagued by race memories of the Embodied, convinces Kari that he can find her missing mother if she flies to Paris with him to draw out her kidnappers. But the Embodied seemed to have vanished, and now there’s a new, more terrifying visitor from the Dark Universe – a Thoth high priest in the form of a dragon. Kari soon discovers the mind-blowing extent of the Embodied beings’ involvement in human history and her own family’s tragic past.

In the trilogy’s thrilling conclusion, Diamond Splinters, Kari has a heart-wrenching choice to make: rescue her mother or save the Earth. And her only hope to figure out a solution is to team up with the one person she can never trust. When a submarine trip to the bottom of the Hudson River ends in death and disaster, Kari is scarred, both emotionally and physically. She wants to run and hide, but digs deep to find new sources of inner strength. As the storm of the century hits New York, a child’s life hangs in the balance and Kari gambles everything in a final confrontation with the genocidal Thoth.

September Movie #Reviews

I've been watching a lot of movies lately, but haven't had time to write any reviews about them. There is always something more important that takes up my time (Like writing a sequel to Hunter.) This week I have several cool movies for you to fill your TV watching time.
Puncture (2011) - As another movie on my Chris Evans movie list, this was one of the better ones. Its about a lawyer who takes on the medical industry and all their bull.
When a nurse gets stuck with an infected needle and dies of aids, Evans' character takes on the huge task of making the medical supply companies (Who have a monopoly) pay for their negligence. There is a safety needle that could save thousands of nurses lives but they wont sell it.

Of course Evans' character has his own demons he has to battle (Drug use.)

Its a sad movie that is based on a true story and you learn a lot about how plastic needles started the aids epidemic. See the trailer here.

I'm going to give this movie a four out of five stars because it was super sad but an awesome watch.

London Has Fallen (2016 - I don't know if you all have seen Olympus has Fallen, but this movie is the sequel and let me tell you, it has all the blood and gore a person can handle (Or not.)

The movie follows the president and his secret service agent. They go to London for a funeral but are attacked by some gun running extremists. The whole movie is spent with Gerard Butler kicking as and taking names, saving the president over and over and over and over again. They blow stuff up, have epic gun battles and the hand to hand combat is awesome.

The only down side is all the gore.  lot of people get stabbed and blown up and if you can't handle it, then don't watch this movie. Check out the trailer here.

This movie has earned an epic four out of five stars for action and awesomeness.

Insurgent (2015) - I've read all the books in this series and I love when the movies are just about as good as the reads.

Throughout the entire movie you just want some of the character to die. They are that evil, but the kind of evil that makes sense. Not this evil that you wonder why anyone would put them in the movie.

The plot follows Tris and Four as they escape the big city and ultimately break back in to unlock the secrets of the Divergent. There wasn't as much fun play in this movie as the last. No awesome capture the flag or tattoos, but there is a lot of simulations and gun battles.

Check out the trailer.

I will watch this movie again so that is why I'm giving it a four out of five stars.

Home (2015) - Every once and a while my kinds request a movie and this was one of them. It looked hilarious, even before my son asked to watch it and it made the whole family gather on the couch for a night of family bonding.

The movie is all about this alien race who are masters at running away. They are being pursued by a crazy looking race that they stole something from, and every time they are found, they run away and leave the world they've been hiding on to be destroyed. Of course they come to earth and all hell breaks loose, but everything turns out ok in the end.

My favorite part is Pig the cat of course and you can see him in the trailer here.

This movie is getting a five out of five for spectacular humor and Pig the Cat.

These are my movie picks of the month. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family and I have. If you have a movie you think I would enjoy, please leave me a comment.

Review: I was given a free copy of this book by the author for my honest review.
I was really drawn to this book because of my love for telepathy and the paranormal. I think you all know how much I love it, so when I picked it up I had really high expectations. Before I get into my review, let me give you a little background on the story.

Ann wakes up without any memories and is found by the Readers (People who can read minds). We find out that the Readers are in a war with the Jacks (People who high jack other peoples bodies.) During this centuries long war, the Seer's got wiped out (People who can see the future.) Before the Seers were wiped out, they saw one person who had all three gifts who could end the war. You know, when I heard all this I thought to myself, that's pretty awesome. I must read this book.

Here is my review. The premise was awesome. I loved how this one girl had the weight of the world on her shoulders and it seemed at times there was no way out, but when the story really started getting going, the characters didn't seem to fit the premise. The Readers and Jacks are supposed to be thousands of years old, but yet they talk like they are horny teens. I guess I was expecting a little more maturity from everyone in the way they talked and acted, but that wasn't the case. The next thing that got my goat was the mass amount of questions the main character asked. Her dialogue was hard to believe and I felt like she could have found out some of the information of the story in a way other than asking someone outright over and over again.

I adored the love triangle and I'm happy with who Ann ended up with in the end. I could have used more awkwardness between the characters, but it was satisfying none the less.

I'm going to give this book 3 stars because it was good but there were things that didn't make sense to me and I couldn't get over the dialogue.

Now, her only hope for survival rests in the hands of the man sent out to kill her: Diesel, the Mad Dog terrorist.Diesel is determined to free himself of the never ending curse of reincarnation and the haunting memories that plague his mind. But when his search leads him to Nadia, a greater desire stills him from taking her life.Unable to see into Diesel’s cracking mind, Nadia instead puts her faith into his strength, fueled by eleven generations of unmatched rage and insanity. Excerpt:I shook my head. This must be a nightmare. This must be fake.

“This isn’t you, Diesel. This is Krane’s influence. You’re sick but once you get some D400 into you, you’ll be you again.”

Diesel’s voice tightened. “I’m not sick. Don’t you get it? Krane, Diesel, there’s no difference.”

My breath shuddered out. All this time, everyone referred to him as Krane but I had ignored it. All this time I was warned of Krane’s cruel capabilities but I was so certain Diesel wasn’t the same malicious person. But Krane wasn’t a separate entity held behind a wall of D400. It was just another name fitted to a different face.

I stepped back. “You’re disgusting!”

“Nadia.” He smiled as though I was joking. He reached out to touch me. I jerked away.

With all the coldness I could master, I gritted through my teeth. “Men like you remind me that there are such things as real monsters.”

My words hit something dark inside of Diesel and immediately he dropped his smile. “Hmm, so what do you call those that love monsters like me, huh? How disgusting are you then?”

He was right. We were a candle on fire, destined to destroy each other. He was a flame, clinging to me, not letting me go as I melted beneath. I could feel myself weaken in my core, my sides running with wax. The more the flame ate and picked me away, the further my body hollowed until all that was left were brittle walls melting into a puddle. Once I was gone, he’d snap shut into smoke.

“Maybe you are right. Maybe love really is just poison an idiot drinks.”

Diesel’s eyes narrowed. “Didn’t you say nothing could break you?”

“I’m not broken. You are. And this is a poison you can now drink alone.”

A Night Without Stars Book Blitz by J.A. Eaton

A Night Without Stars
by Jillian Eaton
Genre: YA Paranormal

Summary from Goodreads:

You might know vampires...but you don't know Lola.

Sixteen-year-old Lola Sanchez is no hero. Snarky, rebellious, and completely fed up with her life, she has one goal: graduate high school and get the hell out of her small hometown. Until a night of terror and bloodshed changes everything...forever.

Now the only thing Lola wants to do is survive. But how can she survive when everything she knows has been destroyed and the one person she thought she could trust ends up being the most dangerous person of all?

Please Note: 'A Night Without Stars' was previously published as a novella entitled 'Pitch' in 2012. It is now a full length novel. All reviews prior to
01/21/14 are for 'Pitch'.

Excerpt:

“Do you think there is anyone else left?” I asked quietly. “Any survivors, like us?”
Maximus’ shoulders lifted and fell beneath his leather jacket. “There are always survivors. You know what they say about cockroaches, don’t you?”
I shook my head.
“If the world was destroyed by a nuclear blast, cockroaches would find a way to survive.”
The corners of my mouth tightened. “Are you comparing us to cockroaches?”
“What if I am?”
“Then I would say you’re crazy. This isn’t some kind of nuclear blast or a war or something.”
“That’s where you are wrong, Lola.” Maximus stepped closer, crowding me back against the edge of the sidewalk. I could have easily stepped down over the curb, but I held my ground. I found I liked being close to him, a dangerous thing to discover when you were supposed to be running for your life. “This is a war,” he said softly, so softly I had no choice but to lean towards him. He angled his body to mine. We were as close as two people could physically be without touching. My breath caught in my throat, refusing to go up or down.
“What kind of war?” I managed to croak.

“A war to end all wars.” His eyes burned into mine. “A war to end the human race.”

About the Author
I guess this is where I get to tell you all about myself! So here goes. My name is Jillian Eaton, I'm 29, a Leo, huge animal lover, Supernatural fan (Go Team Dean!), and coffee addict. I grew up in Maine and now live in Pennsylvania in a one hundred year old house I bought with my boyfriend a little over a year ago. Together we have three dogs, two horses, and a very fun, crazy, chaotic life.
For as long as I can remember I have loved to read, and as soon as I figured out how to hold a pencil that love of reading turned into a love of writing. I self-published my first historical romance in 2012. Since then I have published thirteen novellas and six novels. While I primarily write historical romance, I've enjoyed dabbling in paranormal young-adult and contemporary women's fiction.
In addition to writing, I teach two riding classes at Delaware Valley University (my alma mater) and train horses at a small private farm that I used to manage before I left to become a full-time writer!
When I'm not working, you'll most likely find me taking my dogs for a walk, fussing over my goofy thoroughbred, looking up house projects on pinterest, binging on Netflix, gardening, or attempting to cook (attempting being the key word).  Author Links: photo iconwebsite-32x32_zpsxu00rcxl.png    photo icongoodreads32_zpsagjcxxa1.png    photo icontwitter-32x32_zpsys9vmakl.png    photo iconfacebook-32x32_zps515gyzbq.png
