E. Ardell spent her childhood in Houston, Texas, obsessed with anything science fiction, fantastic, paranormal or just plain weird. She loves to write stories that feature young people with extraordinary talents thrown into strange and dangerous situations. She took her obsession to the next level, earning a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Southern Maine where she specialized in young adult genre fiction. She’s a big kid at heart and loves her job as a teen librarian at Monterey Public Library in Monterey, California, where she voluntarily shuts herself in rooms with hungry hordes of teenagers and runs crazy after-school programs for them. When she’s not working, she’s reading, writing, running writers critique groups, trying to ...more

I swear the story is like my child and you are like a teacher telling me he was well-behaved and attentive in class. I hope for the second story, The Third Gambit, to be out next year around the same time The Fourth Piece came out, if not a little sooner. I will keep you updated, especially if you would like an ARC. :D

I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I'm working on finishing up Book 2, The Third Gambit, so it can be released on time next year. I hope you decide to stick with the series, because I think The Third Gambit is going to be better than The Fourth Piece.

Take care and I'd love to hear from you again! (less)

[image error]The last time I wrote an entry, I was telling you all about my Rone Award finalist status. Since then, I’ve put together a costume to cosplay one of my characters, Desiri Lilias (who you’ll meet in The Third Gambit), bought my first Square and cash box to take to conventions so I can sell my book, had book bling made (I’ll have pictures of that soon), will be on some author panels,...

What a wonderful conclusion to a series that I thought would be terrible (mainly because it's semi-historic, and I looked up the fates of the characters).

I was satisfied by how this series wrapped up, and even managed to have a happy, yet believable
