My Oatmeal Miracle

When I took my oatmeal out of the microwave, I tilted my head downward to take the steam up into my face.

Now in my 6th week of spending most of my time in a New Jersey hotel room due to COVID rather than doing ministry in New York City as I had so hoped to be doing, I realized just a few weeks ago I was using the steam from oatmeal and just about anything hot to try to break up the severe congestion that terrifyingly made me feel it was hard to breathe through.

Want to Please God?

“Do you want to please me?” the Holy Spirit of God spoke to my heart.

“Of course!” I answered right away.

“Then go where I am sending you,” He replied.

Uh oh. God’s will was contrary to MY DESIRES AND MY PLANS!

How quick I was to tell God I wanted to please Him. But now I would have to follow through – or not!

Believing in and following the Lord Jesus Christ is NOT about merely THINKING and SAYING we want to love, please, honor, praise, worship, serve, obey, and glorify God AS WE SHOULD.

I have been a totally devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ with a ministry for a good long while, and yet still when I go through especially hard seasons of my life have times of doubt about God. And I have some really strong encouragement.

As I write this I have had COVID and now bronchitis for about 3.5 weeks.
