Insatiable Hunger

Have you ever loved something or someone so much you literally feel like you will never be able to get enough of that thing or that person? Like your hunger will never be met and your thirst never quenched and your longing never satisfied and your desire never fulfilled? Are you familiar with the word insatiable? This is what I’m writing of. When we crave and yearn for something or someone so much only to find nothing will ever measure up to the degree of craving and yearning we have! But then, ...

Come, Hear, & Do!

COME. HEAR. DO. Three seemingly insignificant words until you put them all together in the context of the Lord Jesus Christ and of His very own words in the Bible and of lovingly, humbly, and faithfully following Him!

Please read the following verses:

“Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house,...

Loving & Serving!

“Oh God help me to love and serve you with all my heart amen!” I prayed fervently.

Are you led to pray the same prayer? Or something like it? Fervently? Passionately? Truly? Sincerely? Genuinely? Zealously? With real intention? Because you honestly long and yearn and hunger to love and serve the Lord with all your heart? And because you humbly know and confess you need God’s help to do so? And because you know that without the Lord you and I who believe in Jesus as Lord cannot bear fruit for Him...

Lord, Lord!

Years ago I stood in the kitchen of a rented home in Round Hill, VA, as the Lord pierced through the hardness of my heart with a Bible verse my then husband brought to my attention. The Holy Spirit moved so mightily inside me that I still remember standing there hearing the awesomely powerful – and convicting – verse.

Rest assured, God’s Word is more powerful than imaginable as He himself lets us know with this verse: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sw...

Fear of Bad News

Are you a worrier? Afraid of getting bad news? Fearful the phone call, the knock on the door, the letter in the mailbox, the email you just got, your loved one telling you he or she needs to talk to you privately, the doctor’s office calling, the school test results being handed to you, etc., will be bad news? I’m a worrier by nature coupled with the fact I’ve had endless struggles over the years and plenty of bad news along the way to the point if I’m not careful I tend to worry – and worry big...

Is the Devil Trying to Stop You?

In the devil’s mission to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), among other things he tries to stop people from repenting and believing in and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord for the promise of everlasting life. He also tries to stop those of us who have already committed our lives to the Lord from growing closer to Him. He also tries to stop us from being totally devoted to the Lord. He also tries to stop us from obeying the Lord. He also tries to stop us from fulfilling God’s will for our live...

In God’s Hands

“So now I place it in your hands! Oh Lord, thank you!” I prayed to the Lord.

I had just come into my hotel room from driving around on errands at the end of which I had had a few really exciting ideas about writing projects. Yeah! I love to write! I love, love, love to write for the Lord & to help others to find and follow Him! I love new writing projects especially exciting ones. But I have learned that not every idea that comes to mind is from the Lord! Sometimes they are! Sometimes they are n...

Sacrificing Comfort

“Do you want to go where you’re comfortable, or do you want to go where you’re needed?” the Lord asked me. “Do you want to serve or do you want to receive?” He continued. “I came to serve. Do the same.” He still wasn’t done. “Go where I send you.”

Wow. So convicting. Isn’t it? I had been thinking about whether or not I wanted to go somewhere. That was the problem right there. I was thinking about myself. I wasn’t thinking about the Lord and what He wanted. I was only considering my own wishes, w...

Enjoying God’s Blessings

“Today, enjoy God’s blessings – Him above all – and all the others [blessings]!!!!” I wrote a beloved sister in the Lord.

I knew even as I wrote the words I needed to hear them and that the Lord had given me a message for numerous others. Maybe even you.

It’s so easy in this world with all its challenges, isn’t it, to get caught up in what’s wrong, what hurts, what’s dark, what’s evil, what’s negative, what’s broken, what needs fixing, the bad news, the ugly, the dirty, what we don’t like, what ...

Jesus My Beloved, Near!

I used to think of the Lord as far, far away in the sky, far away from me, way out of reach, God I could pray to but God who would always keep His far, far away distance from me and from all of humanity. I didn’t believe and receive and know and experience His love for me. Nor did I believe His care, His compassion, His kindness, His tenderness, etc. I thought of Him as a long-distance-away God I needed to obey – or else. Now, I know and experience the truth.

Today, I have a closer-than-imaginab...
