Your Calling, Not Theirs

Ever felt down, discouraged, disappointed, frustrated, downhearted, and maybe even depressed because you feel like you’re not measuring up to how somebody else or some other people are serving God? Because of how they are called by Him to serve Him? Because your serving God doesn’t look like their serving God? Because you don’t have great passion and drive for serving God in the same ways they’re serving God? Because you feel like a flop and failure in serving God when you think about how they’r...

Refusing to Forgive?

Please do not refuse to forgive the person or people you need to forgive. The one or ones you have been refusing to forgive. The person or people you say you’re not ready to forgive. Or whom you believe don’t deserve your forgiveness. For Christ’s sake, forgive. Without further delay. Oh, please forgive, friend!

Please forgive. For this reason. Forgiveness is commanded by God. It is mandated by Him. Refusing to forgive is disobedience. It is rebellion against God. Not only is refusing to forgive...

Thank God for Mercy!

When was the last time you thanked God for His mercy? For the fact He sent His only begotten Son Jesus to the cross to die in your place and pay your sin punishment and be raised from the dead? For the fact He offers you forgiveness and everlasting life through faith in Jesus and turning from your sins and devoting your life to Him?

For the fact His mercy doesn’t stop there but goes on forever? For the fact He forgives us each and every day when we fall short and turn to Him? For the fact He for...

Covering Up Sin

Are you covering your sins or confessing them to God? Are you forsaking your sins and turning from them to God? Or forsaking God and holding onto your sins? Please read this powerful verse:

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:

but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them

shall have mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

We are foolish to try to cover our sins. God sees them all right down to our sinful thoughts.

Let us confess them to the Lord, let us seek and receive His forgiveness, and let us forsake our...

How to Please the Lord

Pleasing the Lord begins with believing in Him. With turning from our sins, believing Jesus Christ is Lord and in His death and resurrection and in turning to Him and His ways. We cannot please the Lord without faith in Him.

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

But faith in the Lord isn’t where pleasing the Lord ends. It is where pleasing Him begins.

Pleasing...

Pleasing God

“My number one prayer, Lord,” I prayed before climbing into bed one night, “is that I please you.”

Imagine my surprise as I considered my prayer. Oh, how mightily the Lord has changed me over the years. I lived for decades knowing virtually nothing about the Lord. Then I believed in Him but still lived for me. Then I began to learn how to live for Him not for me.

I have been falling in love with the Lord for years now. My love keeps growing. And with my growing love for Him comes a growing desir...

Good News Daily – November 17

Dear friend,

I’m so excited that even as I press on in a relatively challenging season of my life, the Lord is blessing me with the humbling privilege of continuing to write messages He places upon my heart to share with others yourself included. I love, love, love to write and have loved writing since I was a little girl, but none of my writing over the years compares with the honor of writing for the Lord and for others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for blessing me with the opportunit...

Beautiful Love: God’s Chastening

The last thing in the world you might think about when God is chastening you and bringing correction and calling you to repent for sin into which you have fallen is His beautiful love. His magnificent love. His phenomenal love. His extravagant love. His breathtaking love. His kind love. His tender love. His merciful love. His humble love. His gentle love. His compassionate love. His caring love. His sweet love. His endearing love. His embracing love. His healing love. His satisfying love. His un...

Return to Me

The Lord tells His people throughout the Bible, albeit strongly, to return to Him. They have strayed. They have wandered. They have disobeyed. They have rebelled. In one way or another, to one degree or another, they have turned away from Him. They need to turn back. To God almighty. And so, friend, do we who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord need to sometimes return. To the Lord Jesus Christ. To God and His ways. To His will and plans for our lives. To His purpose for His glory. When we have turn...
