Update & Prayer Request from Lara

Dear friend,

So sorry I haven’t been sending out my Good News Daily as much as I would love to do. But I do my best to seek and follow the Lord and to wait on Him to place messages on my heart and to lead me as to when to send them. And He always knows best!

In the meantime, this has been a trying season for me. I am well aware my challenges are nothing compared with those of so many around the world, and I am so thankful for the Lord’s blessings most of all for an ever-growing, ever-stronger, e...

Take Care of Your Temple

“Take care of your temple,” the Lord reminded me strongly one day. “It is mine.”

We who follow Jesus are the temple of His Holy Spirit. He lives inside us! He lives through us!

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 NKJV

“You are responsible for caring for it,” He continued.

We who follow Jesus belong to the Lord. We need to take care of what belongs to the Lord. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually, we need to take care ...

Change Your Perspective!

Change your perspective. The words came quickly. Was it God speaking to my heart? I can only imagine. Who else would give me such awesome and perfectly timed wisdom? I needed the words. I needed the message. I couldn’t help but think you might need it also. Do you?

How often do we who believe in and faithfully follow Jesus as Lord see ourselves as losers, failures, hopeless, insignificant, meaningless, purposeless, forsaken, messed up, incapable of doing what God has called us to do on this eart...

Fighting Roaches & the Devil

It didn’t take more than just a very few roaches in my hotel room that likely came in due to the cold outdoors for me to go all out with a vengeance to figure out how to get rid of them – IMMEDIATELY. I called the vet for advice regarding protecting my beloved handicapped ministry dogs, I headed to one store, then another, and off I went with my bag loaded up with multiple weapons to fight and defeat and obliterate those awful roaches while keeping my precious dogs and myself safe. No way were t...

Good News Daily – November 25

Thursday, November 25, 2020

Dear friend,

I used to make such a huge deal over holidays. More often than not, I would be sad, upset, lonely, distraught, down, discouraged, and throwing a pity-party because my life wasn’t the way I wanted it and because of all my trials and struggles and losses over the years. Now things are altogether different for me. I don’t make a big deal out of holidays anymore. I think of them as nothing more nor less than another day with which the Lord has blessed me to l...

Reaching Your Finish Line

The finish line for Jesus’ followers is being with Him face-to-face forever in utter bliss and blessedness after our lives on this earth are over, but how do we get to the finish line when this marathon called life can be so brutally challenging, gruelingly hard, seemingly impossible, incredibly busy, and totally exhausting?

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run wi...

Forever Honor

“No matter how I feel, I want to honor the Lord,” I told a sweet younger sister in the Lord.

I was feeling pretty wiped out from being on the road full-time for the Lord for several years, from my ministry work, from a long-time painful personal trial, from all the solititude that comes with God’s calling for me, and from a recent big loss. I was sad. Down. Frustrated. Discouraged. I was sharing my heart with my young friend.

For years, when I faced trials, I would be so self-consumed, self-pity...

Cookie Cutter Christianity

God didn’t create humanity and then take a gargantuan God-sized cookie cutter and press it down on all people again and again to make us and our lives look all like each other. But would you agree sometimes we who are Jesus followers become preoccupied with other Christians and their lives and relationships with God and feel like our hearts and lives are supposed to look like theirs?

I am one of those off-the-beaten track, passionate, creative, march-to-a-different-drummer kind of women, and cou...

God’s Timing, Not Yours

The Holy Spirit said to me one day these words:

“Timing is important. Way more important than you realize. It is fundamental to following me. You can do my will and miss my timing. You can have my timing and miss my will. You need to fulfill my will according to my timing. I have a plan and purpose for everything, and with it comes my time frame. Because I see the whole picture. You see little pieces of it, yes, as you were told long ago by someone in your life at the time. Don’t miss my will. D...

YOUR Relationship, Not Theirs

I had been reading a few books by famous women in ministry when I found myself feeling disappointed about my alone time with Jesus. In my estimate, I wasn’t measuring up to what I had determined was the quality and the beauty of these women’s alone time with Him.

They called their time with Him devotional time. I didn’t even call my time alone in God’s presence reading the Bible and seeking and hearing Him devotional time. My relationship with the Lord didn’t look like theirs, so wasn’t there so...
