They Hurt Me!

They hurt me so I shouldn’t love them, right? They hurt me so I shouldn’t forgive them, right? They hurt me so I should have vengeance on them, right? They hurt me so I shouldn’t ever help them or give to them or pray for them, right? That’s exactly what this world teaches us, isn’t it? So we should go along with the world’s ways, right? No! We shouldn’t do what the world teaches us. We shouldn’t look to the world as our role model. We shouldn’t think and look and act like the world. We should d...

Saved to Serve

Know what Peter’s mother-in-law did as soon as Jesus healed her from her sickness? It’s one of my favorite stories in the Bible and I believe can be easily overlooked because it’s so brief. She got up and SERVED! What about us?

What do we do when God blesses us in one way or another? When He forgives us and saves us from His wrath, hell, and the lake of fire and gives us forever life with Him through repentance and believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and in His death and resurrection and devoting ...

Confronting People

When God compels us to confront people in love about a matter, we need to obey Him no matter how they might respond to us whether with love and thankfulness or hatred, rejection, abandonment, gossip, and persecution or anything else.

It can be really hard and scary to confront people and we may be tempted to run the other way because we don’t want to face how they respond or because we’re afraid of hurting them with the truth God puts on our hearts to speak to them. But we need to obey God and t...

Knowing God’s Will

Knowing God’s will isn’t enough. We can pray our hearts out to God to make His will known to us but seeking His will and knowing His will once He reveals it to us are not enough. We need to seek and know and DO God’s will.

As greatly as we desire to know God’s will, we need to be careful once we know what it is. We need to be sure we don’t fall into picking and choosing what we do and don’t want to do, resisting His will when we don’t like it, procrastinating in doing His will, turning the other...

Breathing for Jesus

Breathing for Jesus

My food went down the wrong way one day whereby I found myself alone with my beloved ministry dogs in my hotel room panicked and desperately gasping for air as though my very life depended on it which it did. Something wild happened in the midst of it. I cried out to the Lord to save my life and realized what I told Him in those desperate moments reveals how much He has changed me over the years not to mention bears a message for us all.

I begged Him to help me breathe and to...

Protect This!

I was about to go on a walk with Jesus which I so love to do to get fresh air, get exercise, and more than anything to spend time loving, praising, worshiping, praying to, seeking, listening to, and singing to the Lord as I enjoy His glorious presence. Suddenly it dawned on me it would be the perfect opportunity to make a phone call to make a veterinary appointment for one of the ministry dogs. Though I felt strongly compelled to come away from the cares of the day to be with Jesus, I tried to c...

A Convicting Reminder

My pastor finished off one Sunday service by telling the congregation he wanted us that coming week to pray God would bring into our lives someone in need and that we would give to that person in some way whether it be a hot meal, a word of encouragement, prayer, etc. A convicting reminder. How so? I am sad to share with you this.

Why is it we should have to be reminded to give to a world in need? To love others? To give to those in need? To pray to God to bring people into our lives with needs?...

Missing Humility

You and I can SAY and DO everything in our words and actions that is pleasing to God but grieve His heart and dishonor and displease and disobey Him and be in outright rebellion against Him because of one missing vitally important ingredient. HUMILITY.

When we exalt ourselves in PRIDE instead of HUMBLING ourselves and exalting the Lord, we are outright SINNING AGAINST GOD and MUST REPENT!

We can have tons of faith and love, praise and worship Him to no end, love others and do good deeds day and ...
