Lightning and Lawmen, Shanna Hatfield, #book, #review

Lightning and Lawmen (Baker City Brides Book 5)Lightning and Lawmen by Shanna Hatfield

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Delilah Robbins agrees to go with her father to his new post in Baker City, Oregon as the new Meteorologist. She was expecting the town to be primitive, but to her delight the town was booming.

As they make their way to the home they are supposed to move in they see just how bad the old tenant kept the place or was it robbed?

Deputy Dugan Durfey walks up to see who the pretty lady is sitting on the porch. Once they meet each other they can’t keep their eyes off each other. But what happens when his best friend an other deputy Seth, comes into the picture. Neither one of them can keep their eyes off Delilah.

I enjoyed reading about Delilah and Dugan. They work well with each other and all the secondary characters make this heartwarming read phenomenal. We can’t forget the raccoon Oliver. He is hilarious to read about.

I have not read the other books in the series but there is enough information on the other couples in the book. The reader will not feel like they are laking any information. It will however make you want to read the other books.

RNWMP: Bride for Curtis (Mail Order Mounties #26), #book, #review

RNWMP: Bride for Curtis (Mail Order Mounties #26)RNWMP: Bride for Curtis by Cassie Hayes

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Caitlyn is very independent but when she looses her job she only has a few choices become a nun or marry a mountie like her sisters before her.

Curtis really wants a wife to cook and clean for him. He doesn’t expect much more. A maid is about sums it up. When he finds out she is a vegetarian he really doesn’t know what to think as he loves meat too much.

The Irish temper comes out when Caitlyn has to stand up to Curtis and when she does he really sees her in a new light.

Loved this story as we see not all mom’s and wives are the same and love can still conquer all. The characters were great and the plot just as good.

The buoyant mood at Bistro Rousseau deflates when Chef Camille’s sister, Renee, turns up dead in the chef’s kitchen, and Mimi Rousseau must tease the real killer out of a mélange of menacing characters.

Crush Week in Nouvelle Vie is a madhouse—in a good way. Tourists pour into town for the pressing of the Napa Valley’s world-renowned grapes and all the town’s businesses get a nice lift, including Bistro and Maison Rousseau. Mimi is raising the ante this year with a Sweet Treats Festival, a wonderland of croissants, cakes, tarts, and soufflés crafted with expert care by the area’s top talents.

Chef Camille’s sister Renee is managing the festival with a cast-iron fist, upsetting everyone, including her sister. Which is bad for Camille when Renee turns up dead in the chef’s kitchen. Mimi is still building her business, so her first course of action is to whip up answers and catch the unsavory perpetrator before Camille takes a dusting and gets burned.

The Heartbreak Bride’s Journey by Emma Ashwood, #book, #review

Mail Order Bride: The Heartbreak Bride's JourneyMail Order Bride: The Heartbreak Bride’s Journey by Emma Ashwood

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kitty had lost her husband and two daughters from Yellow fever. Now she has to move on. So finds an advertisement for a mail order bride for Silas Parker.

Kitty makes a few friends on the trail to California. One of them being the Benning family. Silas even lets them stay in the gust house while they have their house built.

Kitty really starts to feel bad and even exhausted. With doctor Beaning’s help they find out what is really wrong. With Silas stay with her and support her?

The story was sweet and a nice second chance love story. Both characters were great along with the secondary characters. A fun read.

Bride for Richard by Amelia C Adams, #book, #review

RNWMP: Bride for Richard (Mail Order Mounties #27)RNWMP: Bride for Richard by Amelia C. Adams

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Violet is rare in her hometown of Ottawa. The men think she is strange as she loves to look at the stars, write in her notes, draw and have a fun with it. She is on the quiet side.

After hearing her mom and a friend of hers talk about her going off to some where she barges in and tells them she is marrying a mountie.

Miss Hazel knows just the man for Violet, Richard Murray. He wanted a lady that was great in the social life. These two are opposites but yet the same.

I loved the way Richard took right to Violet with the stars and flowers he would bring home almost each day. Violet was a strong and fun loving character to get to know. The plot was amazing and how everyone around her accepted her was amazing.

I have loved each story in the RNWMP series none have disappointed me in the least.

The Doctors heart by Faith Crawford, #book #review

The Doctor’s HeartThe Doctor’s Heart by Faith Crawford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eli Yoder is looking for a woman to watch over his 6 month old twin niece and nephew now in his care. He is heart broken over the loss of his brother and sister in law. They helped him grow and helped him become a doctor. They were his world.

Saloma Hofstader is a young naive woman who has been sent to interview for the position with Eli. Her parents have passed and her siblings would like her to go.

She gets the job with the understanding Eli doesn’t want a relationship. What will happen when they get to the house and his mother shows up?

I enjoyed this quick read and the twists and turns in the story. We learn more about Eli and his practice and we see Saloma grow up and become a strong woman.

Tempting The Laird by Julia London book review

Tempting the Laird (Highland Grooms, #5)Tempting the Laird by Julia London

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Catriona MacKenzie has been sheltering women and children at an abbey after the Battle of Culloden and has recently been told that it is being seized by the English. She asked her Uncle Knox for help to see if they can do something.

Hamlin Graham is about to get voted into the House of Lords, but will the rumors surrounding him make any difference? When Catriana introduces herself he finds it hard to fight the feelings for her.

Can these two come together and get what they want?

A lovely story by the author that keeps romance alive. You will want to turn the pages to see how these two make it through the drama and mystery to love. The story was a fun read.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

To Save Time Let’s Just Assume…product review

I have seen these mugs around on the internet and other places, but never picked one up until now.  I was thrilled to review this cute mug and how can you not love the saying that is printed not on just one side, but both sides of the mug?!

The best part, it is 11 oz not to small or big.  It is dishwasher and microwave safe.  For those days where you want to read a good book and have a nice cup of Chia tea or you want to make the cakes in the cup this would be the perfect size for it.

I have washed it in the dishwasher 5 times now and the color has not faded as if yet.  I have had others that have so this is a huge plus for me.

It is made out of ceramic and has a high gloss finish.  I hope you can see by the image I took of mine.  This would make a great gift for anyone in your life from spouse, child, teacher and more.  I might just get a few for family and friends for Christmas gifts. Who can not use mug?

You can find the mug here https://5amily.com/go/mug. You will want to get you one to show off as well.
