Las Metas Expanden tu Fe

“Que se haga con ustedes conforme a su fe”. Mateo 9:29b (NVI)

Cada vez que estableces una meta, estás diciendo, “Yo creo que Dios quiere que haga esto, para esta o aquella fecha” y eso es una declaración de fe.

Si estableces una meta grande, Dios va a trabajar de una manera grande.
Si estableces una meta mediana, Dios va a trabajar de una manera mediana.
Si estableces una meta pequeña, Dios va a trabajar de una manera pequeña.

Así que puedes ver la forma como las metas amplían tu fe. Ellas afirman que confías en Dios, pero también son declaraciones de cuánto confías en Dios. La Biblia dice, “Que se haga con ustedes conforme a su fe” Mateo 9:29b (NVI).

Esto quiere decir que no hay metas sin oposición. En otras palabras, si no estableces una meta, ya lo has establecido, la meta es quedarte de la misma manera.

Mira como esto trabaja:

Cuando te pregunto, “¿Cuál es tu meta para tu salud?” y me dices, “No tengo una”, entonces tu meta es quedarte igual.Cuando te pregunto, “¿Cuál es tu meta para tus relaciones?” y me dices, “No tengo una”, entonces tu meta es que no mejoren tus relaciones.Cuando te pregunto, “¿Cuál es tu meta para tus finanzas y salir de deudas?” y me dices, “No tengo una”, entonces tu meta es quedarte endeudado.Cuando te pregunto, “¿Cuál es tu meta para tu carrera profesional?” y me dices, “No tengo una”, entonces tu meta es solo dejarte llevar.

Es por esto que la Biblia nos enseña a tener metas. Estas son una disciplina espiritual. Ellas retan nuestra fe. Estas desarrollan nuestro carácter y construyen nuestra fe.    

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Cómo tus metas revelan cuánto confías en Dios para realizar grandes cosas en tu vida?¿En cuál área has sido negligente para establecer una meta?¿Qué meta establecerás hoy, de tal forma que estés continuamente creciendo en cada área de tu vida?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? God Is Always on Time

“Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

In the waiting room of life, you can choose to panic. That’s our natural response! We tend to focus on what’s going on around us. We let our circumstances convince us that there is no reason to wait patiently, to be at peace, to trust, to hope.

Instead of panicking, you can choose to trust God. To be able to do that, you need to remember two things: One, God is never in a hurry. And two, God is never late. God’s timing is always perfect.

What happens in those times where it appears that God is late? God is getting you ready for a miracle!

There are so many examples of this in Scripture, including the story of Lazarus (John 11). Lazarus was one of Jesus’ best friends, and he had two sisters named Mary and Martha. They lived in Bethany, which was just a few miles from where Jesus was on the day Lazarus got sick. They sent word to Jesus that his friend was gravely ill and asked him to come to them.

Jesus could have easily been in Bethany in an hour or two. But it took him three days to go about five miles. When he got there, they told him, “You’re too late! We’ve already buried Lazarus.”

Jesus wasn’t late—because he already knew what he was going to do. His goal was not to heal Lazarus. His goal was to raise him from the dead. Jesus’ goal was not to just make Lazarus well. His goal was to do a miracle of astronomical proportions.

Jesus walked up to Lazarus’ tomb, told them to roll the stone away, and said, “Lazarus, come out.” And Lazarus did!

Sometimes God lets a situation get so bad that only a miracle will do.

God already knows what he’s going to do in your life next month, next year, and in the next decade, and his plan for you is good.

Don’t panic. Don’t give up your faith. Hold on. Keep praying and serving and meeting with God’s family. Keep sowing. Keep believing. Because you’re getting ready for a miracle.

Ejercita la Fe Estableciendo Metas

“La sabiduría es la meta del inteligente, pero el necio no tiene meta fija”. Proverbios 17:24 (DHH)

La mayoría de las cosas que hacemos diariamente no serán importantes en cinco minutos, mucho menos en cinco años. Hacemos muchas cosas que realmente no importan.

Para alcanzar tus sueños en la vida, necesitarás decidir lo que realmente importa, lo que va a perdurar en tu vida y concentrarte en eso. La Biblia dice: “La sabiduría es la meta del inteligente, pero el necio no tiene meta fija” Proverbios 17:24 (DHH).

Una vez que has descubierto lo que más importa, establece metas que requieran fe. Jesús nos dice en Mateo 9, que nos bendecirá tanto como queremos. Su bendición depende del tamaño de nuestra fe. Jesús dice, “Que se haga con ustedes conforme a su fe” Mateo 9:29 (NVI).

Dios dice que elijas tu taza, y Él la podrá llenar. Si tienes una taza pequeña de té, una jarra de 5 litros o un barril de 100 galones de fe, Dios la llenará de acuerdo a tu fe. Lo mucho que confías en Dios determina cuánto Dios te va a bendecir.

Ejercitas tu fe mediante el establecimiento de metas. Estableces una meta cuando dices, “Dios, creo que me estás diciendo que quieres que logre esto en una fecha determinada. Va a ser difícil hacerlo, pero creo que es lo que tengo que hacer”.

¿Qué es una meta establecida en fe?

Es una meta:

Enfocada: es específica, algo que puedes medir.Alcanzable: Es posible y práctica. Si estableces una meta que no es realista, no la lograrás.Personal: Es algo personal. No puedes establecer metas para otras personas. Tú posees tus propias metas, no las de otras personas.Con fecha: Tu meta necesita un plazo. Sin una fecha, no es una meta.Con pasión: Nunca fijes una meta que no te apasione, porque nunca la lograrás sin el deseo de lograrla.

Las metas darán vida a los sueños que has dado por muertos. Da un vistazo a los sueños en que te has rendido. Agrega una meta y ve lo que Dios puede hacer.

You’re Not Alone in the Waiting Room

“After waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.”

Hebrews 6:15 (NIV)

When you’re waiting on God, remember that you’re in good company.

Millions of saints before you have sat in God’s waiting room. You’re not alone! In fact, if you’re in the waiting room right now—maybe you’re waiting on a job, on an answer, or on a result—there are a lot of people around you who are in that same situation.

Hebrews 11:2 says, “People who lived in the past became famous because of faith” (ICB)—and every one of those people had to wait.

Think about Hannah, who had to wait years to have the baby that she was praying God would give her.

Think about Joseph, who had a God-given vision of being a ruler from a very young age but spent 14 years in a prison for a crime he did not commit.

Think of Moses, who wandered in the wilderness for 40 years while he waited for his next assignment and to know his purpose in life.

Think of Abraham, who waited a hundred years before he had Isaac, the child God had promised him years before.

Think about Noah, who waited 120 years before it rained.

Think of David, who was told he would be king but then was sent back to the pasture to shepherd for years before he ever saw the inside of a palace.

God waited thousands of years before sending the Messiah that had been promised. And he spent 400 years in silence before Jesus was born, with no message for the people who were waiting for deliverance.

Your wait may seem too long for you to handle. But there were many faithful people throughout history who waited far longer than you and still trusted in God’s goodness and promises.

We get in a hurry. But God is never in a hurry. Waiting is essential to your faith, so God is going to use all the time it takes to make you into the person he wants you to be.

Hebrews 6:15 says, “After waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised” (NIV).

While you’re waiting, remember those who have waited faithfully before you who saw God answer in ways even bigger than they imagined. Ask him to help you wait faithfully too.

Talk It Over

How does being in community with other people help you persevere through the waiting periods of life?

Where will you spend eternity?

The Bible says you can only get to heaven by trusting in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. You can’t earn your way into heaven: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).

If you’re ready to commit your life to Jesus, start by praying this prayer:

“Dear God, you have promised that if I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Entrégale tu Sueño a Jesús

“He aprendido el secreto de vivir en cualquier situación, sea con el estómago lleno o vacío, con mucho o con poco. Pues todo lo puedo hacer por medio de Cristo, quien me da las fuerzas”. Filipenses 4:12-13 (NTV)

Nunca podrás alcanzar tu sueño hasta que aprendas a renunciar. Suena contra-intuitivo, pero es cierto.

El rendir tu sueño a Jesús siempre es la decisión más segura que puedes hacer en lo que respecta a tu sueño. Dios toma típicamente tu sueño a través de seis etapas diferentes. Lo he visto cientos de veces en mi vida y miles de veces a lo largo de la vida de otros.

Etapa 1: Dios te da un sueño.Etapa 2: Decides ir tras el sueño.Etapa 3: Tu sueño se retrasa.Etapa 4: Tu sueño encuentra dificultades.Etapa 5: Tu sueño llega a un callejón sin salida.Etapa 6: Dios hace realidad tu sueño.

A lo largo de cada una de estas etapas, estás trabajando en tu sueño mientras que Dios está obrando en ti. Más que nada, Dios quiere que confiemos en Él. El apóstol Pablo lo dice así: “He aprendido el secreto de vivir en cualquier situación, sea con el estómago lleno o vacío, con mucho o con poco. Pues todo lo puedo hacer por medio de Cristo, quien me da las fuerzas” Filipenses 4:12-13 (NTV). 

La Biblia dice enfáticamente que tú puedes hacer cualquier cosa —con la ayuda de Dios. Necesitarás mucho más que pensamiento positivo mientras persigues tus sueños dados por Dios. Necesitarás el poder de Dios.

Mucha gente ha leído un libro motivacional tras otro y todavía no ha hecho progresos hacia sus sueños. Necesitamos la ayuda sobrenatural de Dios.

¿Has intentado navegar hacia tus sueños en tu propio poder? Si es así, te garantizo que no vas a llegar a ninguna parte — al menos en los sueños que realmente importan en tu vida. El viento está muerto.

Entrega tu sueño a Dios. Deja que Él los empodere.

The Unseen Battle Over Your Prayers

“We are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.”

Ephesians 6:12 (GNT)

There is an unseen battle going on in a realm that we don’t even understand, a spiritual war in other dimensions between good and evil, between God and Satan, between angels and demons—and you’re caught right in the middle. If you’re a child of God, Satan hates you. And he wants to mess you up.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “We are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age” (GNT).

When you pray, there’s often a battle over how it’s going to be answered. While you’re waiting for God to answer, Satan is throwing darts at you—darts of doubt, discouragement, disappointment, and depression. The Bible says to be aware that he’s going to try to get you down.

The Bible doesn’t tell us much about the spiritual warfare that’s going on behind your prayers. But we do get a glimpse of it in the book of Daniel.

Daniel had a vision of an angel, who said, “Daniel, don’t be afraid. God has heard your prayers ever since the first day you decided to humble yourself in order to gain understanding. I have come in answer to your prayer. The [evil] angel prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief angels, came to help me, because I had been left there alone in Persia” (Daniel 10:12-13 GNT).

Are those the wildest verses you’ve ever seen? It says that Daniel had a prayer that wasn’t answered for a while, and he was starting to get discouraged. The angel showed up and said, “We heard your prayer from day one, but we’ve been in a battle over this, and it was such an intense battle that Michael the archangel had to come down and help me with this battle so I could come and tell you that the answer is on its way.”

The same thing is sometimes happening when you are waiting on your answer from God. You can’t know what kind of intense battle is going on over your prayer, but you can remember this: A delay is not a denial. When an answer to prayer is delayed, it doesn’t mean it’s not going to be answered. It just means God is fighting for you.

Don’t be discouraged. Keep praying!

Elige Vivir tus Sueños

“Cada uno es responsable ante Dios de su propia conducta”. Gálatas 6:5 (TLA)

Las personas se enfrentan a sus sueños en una de estas tres maneras. Acusando, excusando o eligiendo.

Los que acusan ocupan toda su vida culpando a otros por no haber conseguido sus sueños. Los que se excusan, inventan justificaciones por las que no están viviendo sus sueños.

Los que eligen, hacen lo necesario para vivir sus sueños.

La Biblia dice que fuiste creado a imagen de Dios. La habilidad de elegir es la característica por excelencia que nos separa de los animales. Es uno de los regalos más grandes de Dios a la humanidad. Pero el libre albedrío significa que igualmente harás malas elecciones, y se vuelve también en la peor maldición.

Los que eligen toman la responsabilidad por sus elecciones y la dirección de sus vidas. Ellos no culpan a otros ni inventan excusas. La Biblia dice en Gálatas 6:5, “cada uno es responsable ante Dios de su propia conducta” (TLA).

En lugar de quejarte por los sueños que no has conseguido, toma la responsabilidad de lo que no has hecho. Tus buenas y malas elecciones tienen un mayor impacto en la posibilidad de obtener tus sueños que cualquier otra cosa. 

He conocido a personas a las que no se les dio nada en la vida, pero que lograron mucho más allá de sus sueños. También he conocido a personas a las que se les dio todo lo que necesitaban y querían en bandeja de plata y, sin embargo, desperdiciaron sus vidas.

No puedes controlar tus circunstancias. Pero puedes controlar cómo respondes a esas circunstancias.

Proverbios 22:13 dice, “El haragán siempre pone pretextos” (TLA). No seas esa persona. Deja de poner excusas por tus sueños no realizados.

Toma la decisión hoy de hacer algo con los sueños que Dios te ha dado.

Five Things to Do While You Wait

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”

Matthew 7:7 (NLT)

Do you ever feel like you’re waiting on God? Maybe you can’t relate to the Israelites, who wandered in the desert for 40 years while they were waiting on God to deliver them. But you feel like God has you on hold. He hasn’t given you the answer or the deliverance you wanted or expected.

God still makes us wander in the desert sometimes—but there is always a purpose to the wait.

When God has you in a waiting period, don’t put your life on hold. Instead, imitate the habits that grow strong faith.

The Bible says there are five things you should keep on doing in the waiting period.

1. Keep on praying.
Matthew 7:7 says, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you” (NLT). Keep on praying, and you will get your answer.

2. Keep on serving.
The Bible says in Romans 12:11, “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically” (NLT). Don’t worry about having a significant ministry. Just make your ministry significant.

3. Keep on going to small group.
“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together . . . Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer” (Hebrews 10:25 GNT).

4. Keep on sowing.
Ecclesiastes 11:6 says, “Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow—perhaps it all will” (TLB). You never know what God will do with the seeds you plant while you’re waiting.

5. Keep on believing.
The Bible says, “You must keep on believing the things you have been taught. You know they are true” (2 Timothy 3:14 TLB).

While you wait, stay active. Don’t be passive. God cannot steer a parked car!

Don’t tell God you’re waiting on him. Turn on the ignition, and just start driving. Where? Anywhere! Get involved in a ministry. Get involved in service. Get involved with small group. Do the things you know you could be doing to develop your skills and habits and become more like Jesus.

¡Aprovecha el Momento!

“Tengan cuidado de cómo se comportan. Vivan como gente que piensa lo que hace, y no como tontos. Aprovechen cada oportunidad que tengan de hacer el bien”. Efesios 5:15-16 (TLA)

Todos tenemos sueños. Quizá has tenido un sueño específico desde que eras un niño, o quizá vino a ti recientemente. Los deseos, aspiraciones y ambiciones deben ser parte de nuestras vidas. Es posible que los hayas escondido en lo más profundo dentro de ti, pero por seguro tienes un sueño.

La pregunta no es si tienes un sueño, la pregunta es “¿Qué estás haciendo con tu sueño?”

La mayoría de los sueños nunca se hacen realidad. No es porque no seamos lo suficientemente inteligentes o extrovertidos o lo suficientemente espirituales. Por lo general, nuestros sueños no se hacen realidad, porque no estamos dispuestos a asumir los riesgos necesarios para alcanzarlos.

La Biblia comparte un triste comentario en una sola frase sobre un rey que no pudo alcanzar una aspiración importante en su vida: “El rey Josafat construyó barcos de carga para ir hasta Ofir a traer oro, pero los barcos nunca salieron porque se destrozaron en el puerto de Ezión Guéber” 1 Reyes 22:48 (PDT).

Es una tragedia que tu barco nunca llegue a tu vida y es una tragedia aun mayor que construyas un barco y que nunca zarpe. Imagínate la energía e inversión empleada por el rey Josafat. Él construyó una flota entera de barcos para ir tras el oro, y ni uno de ellos logró zarpar, nunca pudieron salir del puerto. Evidentemente se produjo una tormenta y, mientras estos barcos estaban en el puerto, se estrellaron contra las rocas y se destruyeron.

Algunas personas pasan toda su vida esperando que su barco llegue. Pero Dios no está esperando que tu barco llegue, Él está esperando que tu navegues tu barco fuera del puerto.

Conozco a un hombre que durante 30 años tuvo un sueño de iniciar un ministerio. Él hablaba del sueño, lo meditaba y lo planeaba. El invirtió una gran cantidad de tiempo en este sueño, pero nunca tomó el riesgo de hacer nada más por su sueño. Nunca navegó su barco fuera del puerto. Con el tiempo, el hombre murió —y lo mismo pasó con su sueño.

El antídoto de la Biblia para ese tipo de prolongación trágica es tan simple como un famoso eslogan, pero terriblemente difícil de aplicar en todo tiempo: “Just Do it”. “Simplemente Hazlo”.

La Biblia dice: “Tengan cuidado de cómo se comportan. Vivan como gente que piensa lo que hace, y no como tontos. Aprovechen cada oportunidad que tengan de hacer el bien” Efesios 5:15-16 (TLA).

Small Lessons Lead to Big Successes

“Remember today what you have learned about the LORD through your experiences with him.”

Deuteronomy 11:2 (GNT)

Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and across the wilderness to the Promised Land. It should have only taken them a few weeks, even with a large crowd. But it took them 40 years.

What in the world were they doing? For 40 years, they were walking around in a circle. God was giving them one test after another and saying, “Will you trust me?” There were seven tests. Every time they failed the test, he sent them on another lap around the wilderness. But even in that wilderness, they were not there by accident.

Some of you are in the wilderness right now. Remember this: The way to the Promised Land is through the wilderness. You’ve got to go through that waiting period. You’ve got to go through that desert. You’ve got to go through that dry spell.

You are waiting in the wilderness for a purpose. And while you’re waiting, you need to keep a record of the lessons you’re learning.

Numbers 33:2 says, “At the LORD’s direction, Moses kept a written record of their progress” (NLT).

The Bible also says, “Remember today what you have learned about the LORD through your experiences with him” (Deuteronomy 11:2 GNT).

Are you keeping a written record of your progress in the Christian life? Are you writing anything down? You need to start keeping a journal when you’re waiting. A journal is different than a diary. A diary is for events; a journal is for lessons.

In the waiting periods of life, little lessons lead to big successes. Some of the tiniest lessons you’ll learn in dry periods, in depressing periods, in discouraging periods will be the keys to big successes in your life. Little lessons lead to big successes. So you need to write them down!

Psalm 119:33 is a good prayer to pray when you’re in the wilderness and waiting for God to deliver you: “GOD, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course” (MSG).

Say to him, “God, I don’t want to wander around. Teach me how to live so I can get through this with the minimum amount of time. I don’t want to be here for 40 years. I don’t want to go in circles. Teach me the lessons for life so I can stay on track and grow in spiritual maturity.”
