Let go of your hurts, habits and hang-ups…

What do you do when things don’t go the way you want them to or as fast as you want them to? Do you take matters into your own hands?

Maybe you don’t wait, you don’t trust God, or you don’t pray, because deep down you don’t think God will provide for your needs.

Whatever the problem is in your life, it boils down to two things:

Will you trust God to take care of the situation? And, will you obey God and do the right thing even if it doesn’t make sense?

The root of all your conflicts in life is that you want to be in charge. You want to be God. You want to call the shots.

So God says, “Okay, let’s have it out. Let’s go to the mat. Let’s wrestle—you and me, one-on-one. Let’s see who’s really in charge here.”

How do you know who’s won at wrestling? When one says, “I give up.”

As Matthew 5:3 says, “God blesses those who… realize their need for him.”

Usa Tu Dinero Para Hacer Crecer Tu Carácter

Nos gusta gastar el dinero en la comodidad, pero la Biblia enseña que es más prudente invertir en el carácter.

Dios quiere que tomemos parte de nuestro dinero y lo invirtamos en nosotros mismos, para mejorar en lo personal y en lo espiritual. La Biblia dice: “Crezcan en la gracia y el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo” (2 Pedro 3:18 NTV).

La Biblia también dice: “Adquiere la verdad y la sabiduría, la disciplina y el discernimiento, ¡y no los vendas!” (Proverbios 23:23 NVI). Dios quiere que desarrolles habilidades y te eduques para que puedas convertirte en el tipo de persona que Él ha diseñado que seas.

Cada vez que usamos nuestro dinero para comprar un libro cristiano o un recurso que nos ayuda a crecer, estamos invirtiendo en el Fondo de crecimiento de Dios. Use Your Money to Grow Your Character

We like to spend money on comfort, but the Bible teaches that it is wiser to invest in character.

God wants us to take some of our money and invest it in ourselves — in personal and spiritual improvement. The Bible says, “Grow in spiritual strength and become better acquainted with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18 TLB).

The Bible also says, “Buy truth — don’t sell it for love or money; buy wisdom, buy education, buy insight” (Proverbs 23:23 The Message). God wants you to develop skills and educate yourself so that you can become the kind of person he has shaped you to be.

Anytime we use our money to buy a Christian book or a resource that helps us grow, we’re investing in God’s Growth Fund. Whenever we use our money to take a class or learn something that makes us more of who or what God wants us to be, we’re investing in our growth. And God is smiling because we’re using our money in the right way.

La Mejor Inversión Financiera que Puedas Hacer

La Palabra de Dios nos dice en Mateo 6:20-21 que guardemos tesoros en el cielo.

¿Cómo podemos hacer esto? En uno de sus enunciados más mal entendidos, Jesús dijo, “Por eso les digo que se valgan de las riquezas mundanas para ganar amigos, a fin de que cuando estas se acaben haya quienes los reciban a ustedes en las viviendas eternas” (Lucas 16:9 NVI).

The Best Financial Investment You Can Make

God’s Word tells us in Matthew 6:20-21 to store up our treasures in heaven.

How can we do this? In one of his most misunderstood statements, Jesus said, “I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings” (Luke 16:9 NIV).

Jesus did not mean for you to “buy” friends with money. What he meant was that you should use the money God gives you to bring people to Christ. They will then be your friends for eternity, friends who will welcome you in heaven! It’s the best financial investment you’ll ever make.

You’ve probably heard the expression “You can’t take it with you,” but the Bible says you can send it on ahead by investing in people’s eternal destination: “By doing this they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven — it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well” (1 Timothy 6:19 TLB).

What are ways you can invest your money in other people? What are ways you can invest your money in bringing people to Jesus? Pray about this, and see who or what God brings to mind. No matter how small, make one investment in eternity this week.

Your actions will affirm your faith.

No Te Preocupes. ¡Confía en Dios!

Podemos ser un héroe un día y un cero al día siguiente, un millonario un día y en la quiebra al siguiente. No importa cuánto ganemos, no importa cuánto ahorremos, las finanzas son inciertas.

Él dice: “Yo soy tu Padre celestial; eres mi hijo. Voy a ocuparme de tus necesidades” Siempre nos metemos en problemas cuando dudamos del amor de Dios.

La preocupación es jugar a ser Dios. Es asumir la responsabilidad de algo que Dios dijo que Él se encargaría. Pablo nos recuerda en Filipenses 4:19, “Y este mismo Dios quien me cuida suplirá todo lo que necesiten, de las gloriosas riquezas que nos ha dado por medio de Cristo Jesús” (NTV).

Don’t Worry. Trust God!

We can be a hero one day and a zero the next day, a millionaire one day and bankrupt the next. No matter how much we make, no matter how much we save, finances are uncertain.

So we worry. But what does the Bible say about worrying over money?

It’s unreasonable (Matthew 6:25). You’re going to have fears in life, but there are better things to be scared of than a lack of finances. Even if you go bankrupt, it could get worse. Life is more than just the accumulation of things. Be concerned about what’s truly important.
It’s unnatural (Matthew 6:26). Jesus reminds us that animals and plants don’t worry. Birds don’t say, “I’d better build a bigger nest for retirement.” Only human beings don’t trust God to provide for them. Everything else in creation trusts him.
It’s unnecessary (Matthew 6:30). Financial fears come from a misunderstanding about God and what he’s promised to do for you. He’s assumed responsibility for your needs. He says, “I’m your heavenly Father; you’re my child. I’m going to take care of your needs.” We always get into trouble when we doubt the love of God.

Worry is playing God. It’s assuming responsibility for something that God has said he will take care of. Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:19, “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (NLT).

God knows what’s going on in your life — and in your wallet. He knows all your needs even before you ask. He wants to help you out.

Cuatro Actitudes del Corazón para Dar

¿Cómo es la actitud que Dios quiere que tengas cuando das? Comienza con tu corazón. Dios está mucho más interesado en tu disposición a dar que en tu riqueza, porque está interesado en lo que está sucediendo en tu corazón cuando decides dar.

La Biblia dice en 2 Corintios 9:7, “Cada uno debe decidir en su corazón cuánto dar, y no den de mala gana bajo presión, porque Dios ama a la persona que da con alegría” (NTV). Este versículo habla sobre cuatro actitudes clave que debes tener cuando das.

Dar cuidadosamente. No des impulsivamente. El tipo de donación más espiritual es cuando lo piensas, lo oras y te decides por ello. ¿Por qué? Porque planificamos todo lo que es importante en nuestras vidas. Dios quiere que tu ofrenda sea importante y significativa en tu vida.
Dar con entusiasmo. No solo digas: “¡Tengo que dar! Si no doy, Dios va a golpearme con un rayo o algo así”. Das porque sabes que Dios va a hacer algo grande en tu corazón cuando te conviertas en una persona generosa.
Dar voluntariamente. Cada vez que una persona te presiona para dar, no des. Dios no lo va a bendecir de todos modos. Pero cada vez que te sientas desafiado por Dios para dar, será mejor que des.
Dar alegremente. ¡Da con alegría! Una de las palabras griegas para ofrecer es la palabra “hilarante”. Dios quiere que disfrutes dándole a él y a los demás.

A veces es un desafío ser alegre cuando Dios te desafía a dar. Cuando te sientas de esa manera, recuerda los beneficios de lo que Dios quiere hacer en tu corazón: esto crea comunidad. Derrota al materialismo. Fortalece tu fe. Es una inversión para la eternidad. Te bendice a cambio. Y te hace más como Dios.

Dios quiere que des de manera cuidadosa, entusiasta, voluntaria y alegre. ¿Cuál de estas actitudes es la más difícil para ti? ¿Cuál es la más fácil para ti? ¿Por qué?
¿Cuál es una forma saludable y adecuada de responder a las situaciones en las que te sientes presionado a dar?
¿Qué está haciendo Dios en tu corazón a través de tus hábitos y elecciones?

Four Heart Attitudes for Giving

How do you have the attitude God wants you to have when you give? It starts with your heart. God is a lot more interested in your willingness to give than your wealth, because he’s interested in what’s happening in your heart when you decide to give.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully’” (NLT). This verse talks specifically about four key heart attitudes you should have when you give.

Give thoughtfully. Don’t give impulsively. The most spiritual kind of giving is when you think about it and pray about it and make up your mind about it. Why? Because we plan anything that’s important in our lives. God wants your giving to be important and meaningful in your life.
Give enthusiastically. Don’t just say, “I have to give! If I don’t give, God’s going to hit me with lightning or something.” Give because you know God’s going to do something big in your heart when you become a generous person.
Give voluntarily. Anytime you’re pressured by a person to give, don’t give. God’s not going to bless it anyway. But every time you feel challenged by God to give, you’d better give.
Give cheerfully. Give with joy! One of the Greek words for offering is the word “hilarious.” God wants you to enjoy giving to him and to others.

Sometimes it’s a challenge to be cheerful when God’s challenging you to give. Whenever you feel that way, just remind yourself of the benefits of what God wants to do in your heart: It creates community. It defeats materialism. It strengthens your faith. It’s an investment for eternity. It blesses you in return. And it makes you more like God.

Quédate Libre de Deuda

Mi deseo para ti es que te fijes la meta de estar libre de deudas. Es posible, si eres disciplinado. Déjame decirte, si nunca has estado libre de deudas, no tienes idea de la libertad que experimentarás cuando ya no le debas nada a nadie.

Y esta es la razón por lo que es importante. Si Dios te dice que vayas y hagas algo ahora mismo, es posible que no puedas hacerlo porque estás en esa atadura económica.

La Biblia dice que no debemos retener el pago de nuestras deudas, que no debemos dejar ninguna deuda sin pagar. ¿Qué significa? Si solo estás pagando el mínimo en tu tarjeta de crédito, estás dejando una deuda sin pagar. La Biblia dice que no hagas eso. Dios no va a bendecir esa forma de actuar.

Necesitas organizar tus pagos. Quizás pienses que eso será difícil. Adivina qué. ¡Es difícil! Esa es la razón por la cual tantas personas están en deuda. Si fuera sencillo, todos serían ricos. El hecho es que la mayoría de las personas no tienen el carácter ni la disciplina para hacer lo que Dios dice que hay que hacer. Primero, da el 10 por ciento a Dios; segundo, ahorra el 10 por ciento; luego, haz un plan de pagos.

Dices, “Espera un minuto. ¿Me estás diciendo que ahorre antes de pagar mis deudas?” Eso es exactamente lo que te estoy diciendo – porque si esperas pagar todas tus deudas para comenzar a ahorrar y a diezmar, nunca lo harás.

Tal vez pienses que no puedes darte ese lujo, pero la verdad es que no puedes darte el lujo de hacer las cosas de otra manera que no sea la manera de Dios.
