Conversa con tu Creador

 

“Amo al Señor porque escucha mi voz y mi oración que pide misericordia. Debido a que él se inclina para escuchar, ¡oraré mientras tenga aliento!!” (Salmo 116:1-2 NTV).

Me tomó un tiempo, pero finalmente averigüé que este asunto del matrimonio es acerca de comunicación. Descubrí que en los días cuando tenía una comunicación abierta y plena con mi esposa Kay –no del tipo: “Hola, ¿cómo estás?, te amo. Nos vemos luego”- nuestra relación creció. Y en esos días cuando tuvimos poca o ninguna comunicación, nuestra relación disminuyó. Una relación nunca se mantiene firme. O crece o decrece.

Lo mismo es cierto con Dios. En los días cuando tienes unas pláticas significativas y profundas con Dios, tu relación crece. En los días cuando tienes poca o nula conversación con Dios, tu relación decae, es así de simple.

Cuando realmente amas a alguien, no solo quieren pasar tiempo juntos. Quieres hablar con esa persona. ¿Recuerdas cuando te enamoraste siendo un adolescente y tus padres se molestaron porque siempre estabas en el teléfono? Hablabas y hablabas y hablabas porque estabas conociendo a esa persona. La comunicación es como conoces a otros.

¿De qué hablas si quieres expresar amor a Dios? De todo lo que hablarías con tu mejor amigo: tus esperanzas, tus temores, tus sueños, tus ansiedades, las cosas que te desconciertas, las cosas de las que estás orgulloso, las cosas de las que sientes vergüenza, tus metas, tus ambiciones, tus heridas, lo que te importa –cada parte de tu vida.

La Biblia dice en Salmos 116:1-2 “Amo al Señor porque escucha mi voz y mi oración que pide misericordia. Debido a que él se inclina para escuchar, ¡oraré mientras tenga aliento!” (NTV).

Si no te sientes cercano a Dios a causa de tu vida cristiana se ha vuelto una rutina, aburrida, sin alegría y sin vida, hay un remedio simple: Comienza a hablar con Dios de nuevo.

La oración no es solo un deber que tienes que hacer. Es un privilegio que puedes hacer. ¡Puedes hablar con el creador del universo! Él está esperándote a que tengas una conversación con él para que su relación pueda crecer.

¿Qué tan a menudo hablas con tus amigos más cercanos? ¿Es más, o menos seguido de lo que hablas con Dios?
¿Has intentado orar a través de las Escrituras a Dios? ¿Por qué crees que es importante?

Have a Conversation with Your Creator

It took me a while, but I finally figured out that this marriage thing is about communication. I discovered that on the days when I had deep, soul-communication with my wife Kay—not “Hi. How are you? I love you. See you later”—our relationship grows. And on those days when we have little or no communication, our relationship decays. A relationship is never standing still. It’s either growing or decaying.

The same is true with God. On the days when you have deep, significant talks with God, your relationship grows. On the days when you have little or no conversation with God, your relationship decays. It’s that simple.

When you really love somebody, you don’t just want to spend time together. You want to talk with that person. Remember when you first fell in love as a teenager and your parents got upset because you were always on the phone? You talked and talked and talked because you were getting to know that person. Communication is how you get to know others.

What do you talk about if you want to express love to God? Anything that you’d talk to your closest friend about: your hopes, your fears, your dreams, your anxieties, the things you’re embarrassed about, the things you’re proud of, the things you’re ashamed of, your goals, your ambitions, your hurts, your cares—every part of your life.

The Bible says in Psalm 116:1-2, “I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!” (NLT).

If you don’t feel close to God because your Christian life has become routine, dull, joyless, and lifeless, there’s a simple remedy: Start talking to God again.

Prayer is not some duty that you have to do. It’s a privilege that you get to do. You get to talk to the Creator of the universe! He’s waiting on you to have a conversation with him so that your relationship can grow.

¿Puedes Adorar a Dios en cualquier Parte?

 

“Canten su gratitud al Señor; al son del arpa, entonen alabanzas a nuestro Dios” (Salmo 147:7 NTV).

Probablemente hayas notado que la música y el amor van juntos, porque la música viene del corazón. No es algo que haces intelectualmente. Es algo que sale de tu alma, de tus emociones.

Hay muchas canciones de amor en el mundo. De hecho, hay estaciones de radio dedicadas enteramente al formato de la canción de amor. ¿Pero sabías que se han escrito más canciones sobre Jesucristo que cualquier otro tema en el mundo? El cristianismo es una fe cantante. ¿Por qué? Porque no se trata de religión. Se trata de una relación de amor, una relación con Dios, que te ama tanto que envió a su Hijo a morir por ti, y que quiere que lo ames.

El Salmo 147:7 dice, “Canten su gratitud al Señor; al son del arpa, entonen alabanzas a nuestro Dios”. Nada te hará más consciente del amor y la presencia de Dios en tu vida que el canto y la alabanza.

Puedes estar pensando: “Pero no entiendes. No sé cantar”. La Biblia dice que debes hacer un ruido alegre. Sé que puedes hacer eso porque cuando vas a un juego deportivo o cuando alguien se casa, es probable que hagas un ruido alegre. ¡Así que déjalo salir! No tienes que dar la nota correcta. Solo tienes que hacer un ruido alegre.

¿Puedes adorar a Dios fuera de los muros de la iglesia? Sí, porque la adoración es simplemente expresar tu amor a Dios. Eso significa que puedes adorar en la ducha. Puedes adorar en tu patio cortando el césped. Se puede adorar lavando platos. Puedes adorar cuando vas conduciendo al trabajo, haciendo un trato o mientras te ejercitas físicamente. Puedes expresar tu amor a Dios en cualquier lugar. Y eso significa que puedes cantar en cualquier lugar.

¿Qué pensamientos llenan tu mente cuando cantas en la iglesia? ¿En qué te enfocas?
¿Cuán a menudo cantas tu gratitud y amor a Dios? ¿De manera regular? ¿Ocasionalmente? ¿Raramente?
¿Qué puedes reemplazar en tu vida con cánticos o escuchando música de alabanza de tal forma que esto te recuerde adorar más a menudo?

Can You Worship God Anywhere and Everywhere?

You’ve probably noticed that music and love go together, because music comes from the heart. It’s not something you do just intellectually. It’s something that comes out of your soul, your emotions.

There are many love songs in the world. In fact, there are radio stations dedicated entirely to the love-song format. But did you know that more songs have been written about Jesus Christ than any other topic in the world? Christianity is a singing faith. Why? Because it’s not about religion. It’s about a love relationship—a relationship with God, who loves you so much that he sent his Son to die for you and who wants you to love him back.

Psalm 147:7 says, “Sing out your thanks to him; sing praises to our God” (TLB). Nothing will make you more aware of God’s love and presence in your life than singing and praise.

You may be thinking, “But you don’t understand. I can’t sing.” The Bible says to make a joyful noise. I know you can do that because when you go to a sports game or when somebody’s getting married, you probably make a joyful noise. So just let it out! You don’t have to hit the right note. You just have to make a joyful noise.

Can you worship God outside the church walls? Yes, because worship is simply expressing your love to God. That means you can worship in the shower. You can worship in your backyard mowing the lawn. You can worship washing dishes. You can worship when you’re driving to work or making a deal or walking on the golf course. You can express your love to God anywhere and everywhere. And that means you can sing anywhere and everywhere.

¿Por qué Crees que no tienes Tiempo?

 

“El Dios de paz . . . los capacite con todo lo que necesiten para hacer su voluntad.” (Hebreos 13:20-21 NTV).

El principio de “úsalo o piérdelo” es universal. Si no haces ejercicio, tus músculos se hacen más pequeños. Si no inviertes tu dinero, lo perderás. Si no aprendes a usar tu mente, te volverás cada vez más torpe a medida que envejeces. Si tienes un talento y te niegas a practicarlo, lo perderás.

Lo opuesto también es cierto. Si lo usas, obtienes más de lo mismo. Así que, si usas tus músculos, se hacen más fuertes. Si tomas un poco de dinero y lo inviertes sabiamente, se hace más grande. ¡Se multiplica!

Hebreos 13:20-21 dice: “El Dios de paz … los capacite con todo lo que necesiten para hacer su voluntad.”

¿Qué necesitas más en tu vida? ¿Energía? ¿Tiempo? ¿Dinero? ¿Talentos?

Aquí está el secreto: lo que sea que necesites más, toma lo poco que tienes y comienza a usarlo para servir a otras personas desinteresadamente. Entonces mira cómo Dios lo multiplica. Tú dices: “No tengo tiempo para servir a otras personas. No tengo tiempo para ministrar. Ya no tengo tiempo para hacer todo lo que necesito hacer. ¿Cómo podría agregar algo más?”¿Por qué crees que no tienes tiempo? ¡Porque Dios nunca quiso que tú pasaras todo tu tiempo contigo mismo! ¿Por qué Dios te habría de dar más tiempo si solo vas a gastarlo en ti?

Es como el principio del diezmo, donde el primer 10 por ciento de todo lo que recibes se lo das a Dios. ¿Por qué? Porque cuando le devuelves ese 10 por ciento a Dios, él toma el otro 90 por ciento y hace que se expanda más de lo que hubiera sido si mantenías para ti el 100 por ciento. Eso es verdad con tu tiempo. Eso es verdad con tu talento. Eso es verdad con cualquier cosa en la vida.

Si no lo usas, lo pierdes. Y la forma en que obtienes más es invirtiendo lo que tienes. Observa y ve cómo Dios te dará todo lo que necesitas, y más, por hacer su voluntad cuando usas tu tiempo, dinero y talento para él.

¿Cuáles son tus talentos? ¿Cómo puedes usarlos para servir a los demás?
¿De qué manera puedes usar tu tiempo para servir a los demás? ¿Cómo puedes cambiar tu horario para que esto suceda?

Why Do You Think You Don’t Have Time?

The principle of “use it or lose it” is universal. If you don’t exercise, your muscles get smaller. If you don’t invest your money, you’re going to lose it. If you don’t learn to use your mind, it will get duller and duller as you get older. If you have a talent and you refuse to practice, you’ll lose that talent.

The opposite is also true. If you do use it, you get even more of it. So if you use your muscles, they get bigger. If you take a little bit of money and invest it wisely, it gets bigger. It multiplies!

Hebrews 13:20-21 says, “May the God of peace . . . equip you with all you need for doing his will” (TLB).

What do you need more of in your life? How about energy? How about time? How about money? How about talent?

Here’s the secret: Whatever you need more of, take the little you’ve got and start using it to serve other people unselfishly. Then watch God multiply it. You say, “I don’t have time to serve other people. I don’t have time to minister. I already don’t have time to get all the things done I need to do. How could I add anything else?” Why do you think you don’t have time? Because God never meant for you to spend all your time on yourself! Why would God give you more time if you’re just going to spend it on you?

It’s like the principle of tithing, where the first 10 percent of all you make goes back to God. Why? Because when you give that 10 percent back to God, God takes the other 90 percent and makes it stretch further than it would have if you kept 100 percent yourself. That’s true with your time. That’s true with your talent. That’s true with anything in life.

If you don’t use it, you lose it. And the way you get more is by investing whatever you’ve got. Watch and see how God will give you everything you need—and more—for doing his will when you use your time, money, and talent for him.

¿El Miedo te está Frenando?

 

“Porque somos hechura de Dios, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios dispuso de antemano a fin de que las pongamos en práctica” (Efesios 2:10 NVI).

¿Qué evita desarrollar todo tu potencial? El temor. ¿Qué evita que seas todo lo que Dios quiere que seas? El temor. ¿Qué evita que construyas un legado que dure hasta la eternidad? El temor.

Hay tres tipos de temor que evitarán que desarrolles tus talentos y cumplas tu propósito:

Dudar de ti mismo. Eso mantiene a las personas encerradas en una prisión e incapaces de desarrollar su potencial. Este es en realidad el temor al fracaso. ¡Pero el fracaso no tiene que ser fatal! De hecho, el temor al fracaso es mucho peor que el fracaso en sí mismo. El fracaso en realidad puede ser una buena cosa. El fracaso es como aprendes lo que no funciona. Y es así como creces.

No permitas que tus dudas personales te ganen. Prefiero intentar hacer algo grande y fracasar que no intentar nada y tener éxito.
Auto consciencia. Si te preocupas sobre lo que otras personas piensan, no harás nada en tu vida. Solo tienes que hacer lo que Dios te dice que hagas. Eso es todo lo que cuenta. No fuiste llamado para ser el mejor del mundo. Fuiste llamado para ser lo mejor que Dios quiere que seas.
Auto compasión. Había dos discípulos quienes tuvieron grandes fracasos. Pedro y Judas, ambos negaron a Jesús en momentos de crisis, pero cada uno respondió a su fracaso de forma diferente. Judas se fue y tuvo mucho remordimiento y luego se colgó. Pedro, por otro lado, lloró amargamente, se avergonzó de lo que hizo, se arrepintió y le pidió perdón a Dios, se levantó y regresó a servir a Dios. Y solo unas pocas semanas después, Pedro habló a las multitudes en Jerusalén en el Pentecostés, y tres mil personas se convirtieron –y nació la iglesia. De todas las personas que Dios pudo usar para comenzar la iglesia, él usó a la persona con el fracaso más grande. ¡Eso significa que hay lugar para ti en la familia de Dios!

Is Fear Holding You Back?

What keeps you from developing your full potential? Fear. What keeps you from becoming all God wants you to be? Fear. What keeps you from building a legacy that will last into eternity? Fear.

There are three kinds of fear that will keep you from developing your talents and accomplishing your purpose.

Self-doubt. It keeps people locked in a prison and unable to develop their potential. This is actually the fear of failure. But failure doesn’t have to be fatal! In fact, the fear of failure is far worse than failure itself. Failure actually can be a good thing. Failure is how you learn what doesn’t work. And it’s how you grow.

Don’t let self-doubt keep you down. I’d rather attempt to do something great and fail than attempt to do nothing and succeed.

Self-consciousness. If you worry about what other people think, nothing will ever get done in your life. You just have to do what God tells you to do. That’s all you’re accountable for. You’re not called to be the best in the world. You’re called to be the best that God made you to be.
Self-pity. There were two disciples who had spectacular failures. Peter and Judas both denied Jesus in clutch time, but each responded to his failure differently. Judas went out and had a pity party and then hung himself. Peter, on the other hand, wept bitterly, grieved about it, repented, asked God to forgive him, picked himself up, and went back to serving God. And just a few weeks later, Peter spoke to the crowds in Jerusalem on Pentecost, and 3,000 people became believers—and the church was born. Of all the people God could have used to start the church, he used the guy with the biggest failure. That means there’s room for you in the family of God!

Instead of living in fear, believe what God says about you in Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (NIV).

Is What You’re Doing the Best Use of Your Life?

If you want to make an impact with your life, you’ve got to do one thing: Get control of your time. Your time is your life. If you don’t learn to manage your time, you’ll limit the legacy of your life.

Ephesians 5:15-17 says, “Be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise. Live wisely. I mean that you should use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. So do not be foolish with your lives. But learn what the Lord wants you to do” (ICB).

We all have the same amount of time every week: 168 hours. It’s what you do with it that counts! You’ve only been allotted a certain number of days in this world, and if you waste them, you’ve blown it! If you waste time, you’re wasting your life. Your time is your life. You have to stop and ask, “Is this the best use of my time? Is this the best use of my life?”

You don’t have time for everything. The good news is that God doesn’t expect you to do everything. So don’t feel guilty about it! There are only a few things worth doing in the first place.

Effective people figure out what’s essential in life and what’s trivial, and they spend more time doing the essential things and less time doing the trivial things. You can’t eliminate all the trivia in your life, but you can reduce it.

This sounds easy, but frankly it’s often difficult to choose between what’s best for your life and what’s easiest for your life—especially when you’re tired. When you’re tired you don’t want to do the best thing. You want to do what’s easy. That’s why if you’re really going to make something of your life, you have to learn to get some rest. If you’re not rested, you won’t have the mental, emotional, and physical strength to say, “I’m going to do the right thing instead of the easiest thing.”

Don’t waste your life. Don’t settle for second best. Don’t go through life just existing. You were not created to just coast. God made you for a mission and a purpose. That starts by asking, “Is what I’m doing the best use of my life?”

¿Lo que estás Haciendo es el Mejor uso de tu Vida?

 

“Así que tengan cuidado de cómo viven. No vivan como necios sino como sabios. Saquen el mayor provecho de cada oportunidad en estos días malos. No actúen sin pensar, más bien procuren entender lo que el Señor quiere que hagan.” (Efesios 5:15-17 NTV)

Si quieres hacer un impacto con tu vida, tienes que hacer una cosa: Toma control de tu tiempo. Tu tiempo es tu vida. Si no aprendes a manejar tu tiempo, limitarás el legado de tu vida.

Efesios 5:15-17 “Así que tengan cuidado de cómo viven. No vivan como necios sino como sabios. Saquen el mayor provecho de cada oportunidad en estos días malos. No actúen sin pensar, más bien procuren entender lo que el Señor quiere que hagan” (NTV).

Todos tenemos la misma cantidad de tiempo cada semana: 168 horas. ¡Lo que haces con él es lo que cuenta! Solo se te ha asignado un cierto número de días en este mundo, y si los desperdicias, ¡Lo has echado a perder! Si desperdicias tu tiempo, estás desperdiciando tu vida. Tu tiempo es tu vida. Tienes que detenerte y preguntar: “¿Es este el mejor uso de mi tiempo’ ¿Es este el mejor uso de mi vida?”

No tienes tiempo para todo. La buena noticia es que Dios no espera que hagas todo. ¡Así que no te sientas culpable al respecto! Hay unas pocas cosas que valen la pena de hacerse en primer lugar.

Las personas efectivas averiguan lo que es esencial en la vida y lo que es trivial, y ellos ocupan más tiempo haciendo las cosas esenciales y menos tiempo haciendo las cosas triviales. No puedes eliminar todo lo trivial en tu vida, pero puedes reducirlo.

Esto suena fácil, pero francamente es a menudo difícil elegir entre lo que es mejor para tu vida y lo que es más fácil para tu vida –especialmente cuando estás cansado. Cuando estás cansado no quieres hacer lo mejor. Quieres hacer lo más fácil. Ese es el por qué si estás realmente a hacer algo de tu vida, tienes que aprender a descansar un poco. Si no estás descansado, no tendrás la fuerza mental, emocional y física para decir: “Voy a hacer lo correcto en lugar de lo fácil”.

No desperdicies tu vida. No te conformes con el segundo lugar. No vayas por la vida solo existiendo. No fuiste creado solo para quedarte en la orilla. Dios te hizo para una misión y un propósito. Eso comienza al preguntarse: “¿Lo que estoy haciendo es el mejor uso de mi vida?”

Reflexiona sobre esto :

¿Qué cosas ocupan más tu tiempo?
¿Cuánto te están ayudando esas cosas a llenar tu misión en la vida?
¿Qué puedes cambiar en tu agenda y tus prioridades para que puedas descansar más?
