Alaba a Dios, Pase lo que Pase

 

“Esa noche el misterio le fue revelado a Daniel en una visión. Entonces alabó al Dios del cielo”.  Daniel 2:19 (NTV)

La mayoría de nosotros realmente no sabemos qué hacer cuando nos enfrentamos a una situación imposible. ¿Sabías que un joven adolescente de hace más de mil de años, nos puede ayudar?

En los últimos devocionales, hemos aprendido algunos principios increíbles de cómo Daniel trató con una petición imposible del rey más poderoso de su tiempo. Ahora veamos a Daniel mostrarnos estas cinco acciones.

No entres en pánico, y luego pregunta el por qué.
Pide más tiempo.
Reúne amigos en oración.
Ora por la ayuda de Dios.
Pide a Dios por un milagro

Lo siguiente que aprendemos de Daniel está en Daniel 2, es adorar a Dios.

Es importante entender que la adoración es mucho más que solo música. Hay miles de maneras de adorar. Cada vez que pongo mi atención en Dios, eso es adoración. Cuando expreso mi amor a Dios, eso es adoración. No tienes que estar en la iglesia para adorar.

Cuando adoras a Dios, mueves tu enfoque en los problemas y lo diriges a Dios.

La Biblia dice de Daniel que, “Esa noche el misterio le fue revelado a Daniel en una visión. Entonces alabó al Dios del cielo” Daniel 2:19 (NTV).

El pasaje nos muestra cómo adorar a Dios en medio de una crisis. Específicamente, Daniel hizo tres cosas.

Alabó a Dios por lo que es él (v. 20)
Honró a Dios por lo que hace. (v. 21-22)
Agradeció a Dios por su ayuda (v. 23)

Eso es adoración. Haz eso y moverás tu enfoque en los problemas, y lo pondrás en Dios.

Nuestro enfoque siempre debe estar en Él.

There’s No Faith Without Risk

There is no faith without risk.

Faith means stepping out into the unknown when you don’t know what’s even in the unknown. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, “We walk by faith, not by sight” (ESV). That means we walk while looking with spiritual eyes, not physical eyes. We look from God’s point of view, not from a human point of view.

Faith is letting go of your security. Faith is saying, “I’m going to face my fears. I’m going to risk failure. I’m going to dare to move forward.”

When my kids were young, I took them to the circus. My favorite part was watching the trapeze artists. One of them would swing out, and then another would leave his platform. Then there’s the moment of truth, when the trapeze artist has to make a decision: “If I’m going to grab on to the other guy, I’m going to have to let go of this trapeze. Do I let go of the security of one to grab hold of the security of the other?”

Of course, he doesn’t have all day to think about it. If he waits until “next time,” then he’ll go back, and every swing will be a little farther away from his goal. Pretty soon, he’ll come to a standstill and be stuck. There is no time for indecision.

It’s the same with faith. If you want to grow as a follower of Jesus, you’ve got to take a risk. When Peter walked on water, he first had to get out of the boat. You have to leave the safety of what you’ve always known for the safety of God’s purpose. You’ve got to let go and grab ahold of God’s best for you.

Faith is risking the failure. It’s making the investment of time, money, energy, or reputation, knowing that you don’t have to fear the unknown or what will happen if you can’t do it on your own. When you’re motivated by faith rather than fear, God can do something awesome through you.

Are You Ready to Break out of Your Rut?

The Bible tells a story in Mark 5 about a woman who had bled for 12 years. Her condition made her ceremonially unclean in Jewish culture, which meant she had no social life, no interaction with others. She had spent all her money trying to get well. Can you imagine how lonely and desperate she must have been?

One day she hears that Jesus Christ is coming to town. She says, “If I can just touch his robe, I’ll be healed.” So she takes the initiative and makes a daring act, pushing her way through the crowd to come up behind Jesus and touch the back of his robe. She is instantly healed!

Jesus recognizes the touch of faith. He asks, “Who touched me?” People are pressing all around Jesus in this crowd. The disciples are sometimes a bumbling group, so Peter asks him, “What do you mean, ‘Who touched me?’ Look—everybody’s around you and you say, ‘Who touched me?’”

But Jesus knows the difference. The woman comes to him in fear and trembling and says, “I did, Lord.” And he says, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.”

This woman, desperate in life and bold in faith, took the initiative. She broke the rules. She went beyond the boundaries. She decided she was ready to begin again and committed herself to action. She pressed ahead and got through the crowd, and because she took the initiative, her act of faith led to her healing.

Faith can lead to the same kind of miraculous outcome in your life. When you’re stuck in a rut, faith overcomes procrastination by helping you “get it in gear.” It gives you the power to take the initial step that will move you forward to where God wants you to be. No more being indecisive and waffling back and forth. No more sitting on the fence.

When you grow in faith, you’ll learn to take the initiative and discover more of your purpose in life.

Pídele a Dios por lo Imposible

 

“ Llámame y te responderé. Te haré conocer cosas maravillosas y misteriosas que nunca has conocido ”.  Jeremías 33:3 (NTV)

Daniel nos da un gran ejemplo de cómo manejar una situación imposible. Al serle pedido que interpretara el sueño del rey Nabucodonosor en Daniel 2, el respondió de una forma que podemos usar como modelo.

En los recientes devocionales, he mencionado que Daniel no entró en pánico, y que él intentó comprender por qué el rey hizo tal pedido. También pidió más tiempo, y reunió un equipo de oración.

Daniel también oró y pidió a Dios que le diera una ayuda sobrenatural.

Cuando enfrentas una situación imposible, ni tu talento, ni tu lógica, ni tu educación van a solucionar tu problema.

Solo Dios puede hacerlo.

Por eso es que oras y pides a Dios su ayuda sobrenatural. Dios le dijo a Jeremías, que vivió en el mismo tiempo que Daniel: “Pídeme y te daré a conocer secretos sorprendentes que no conoces acerca de lo que está por venir” Jeremías 33:3 (NTV).

Eso era lo que Daniel necesitaba. Necesitaba que el Señor le mostrara lo que él jamás podría llegar a saber o descubrir por sí mismo.

Daniel podría haber estado adivinando por mil años y nunca iba a conocer el significado del sueño del rey. Pero Dios se lo podría decir en un instante.

La Biblia dice que no tenemos porque no pedimos.

¡Cuántas veces perdemos lo mejor de Dios simplemente porque no se lo pedimos!

He visto a Dios hacer esto una y otra vez en mi vida. He enfrentado grandes probabilidades de no poder encontrar la solución por mi cuenta. Así que he orado.

Y Dios ha respondido. Mi vida es una serie de oraciones respondidas.

Quiero que Dios haga lo mismo por ti.

Pídele a tus Amigos por Apoyo en Oración

 

“Entonces Daniel regresó a casa y contó a sus amigos Ananías, Misael y Azarías lo que había ocurrido. Les rogó que pidieran al Dios del cielo que tuviera misericordia y les revelara el secreto, para que no fueran ejecutados junto con los demás sabios de Babilonia”.   Daniel 2:17-18 (NTV)

Dios siempre te prueba antes de bendecirte.

Algunas veces tus pruebas vienen a través de personas que te piden que hagas algo imposible — como un jefe que te pida que termines rápidamente un proyecto imposible.

En devocionales anteriores, te di los primeros pasos básicos: Negarte a entrar en pánico, obtener más información y pedir más tiempo.

Lo que sigue es, pedir a tus amigos apoyo en oración. Daniel hizo esto después de que el rey le pidiera que interpretara su sueño, una petición que antes había hecho que otros murieran.

La Biblia dice: “Entonces Daniel regresó a casa y contó a sus amigos Ananías, Misael y Azarías lo que había ocurrido. Les rogó que pidieran al Dios del cielo que tuviera misericordia y les revelara el secreto, para que no fueran ejecutados junto con los demás sabios de Babilonia“ Daniel 2:17-18 (NTV).

Daniel se dio cuenta de que era una gran petición. El reino pendía de un hilo. El rey no estaba pensando con claridad. Estaba a punto de matar a todos en su corte. Así que Daniel puso en marcha a su equipo de oración.

¿Tienes amigos de oración como Daniel, a los que puedas acudir cuando la vida se pone difícil?

El tiempo para conseguir un equipo de oración no es cuando algo malo sucede. Necesitas tener a esas personas en mente antes de que llegue una crisis.

En algún momento, te enfrentarás a tiempos difíciles. Se te pedirá que haga tareas imposibles. Días oscuros vendrán.

¿A cuáles amigos llamarás cuando estés enfrentando lo imposible? No necesitas mucha gente. Pero necesitas cuatro o cinco amigos que te cuidaran la espalda cuando la vida se salga de control.

Faith Stretches Your Imagination

Imagine the greatest things that could happen in your life. Whatever you imagine, God can outdo it!

The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20, “Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine” (GW). Faith starts with stretching the imagination. It always begins with a concept, a vision, a dream, a mental picture. It always starts with an idea.

God came to Abraham one day and said, “Abraham, I’m going to make you the father of a great nation. You’re going to have a lot of descendants.” For Abraham, that was hard to believe. He didn’t have any kids, and he was well into his 90s. “Sure, God,” he must have thought. “Whatever you say.”

So God gave Abraham a picture: “After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision . . . ‘A son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.’ He took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’ Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.” (Genesis 15:1, 4-6 NIV).

God stretched Abraham’s imagination by telling him to look up at the stars and try to count them—that’s how many descendants God promised that Abraham would have. The entire Jewish nation came from this man.

Abraham had something he could visualize. Every night when he walked outside, he could look up and say, “That’s going to be my family!”

God grows our faith by stretching our imagination, by giving us a dream. What you can dream and believe in faith, you can achieve.

Es más Importante tomar la Decisión Correcta que tomar una Decisión Rápida

 

“Daniel fue a ver al rey inmediatamente y le pidió más tiempo para comunicarle el significado del sueño”.   Daniel 2:16 (NTV)

Cuando se te pide hacer algo que es imposible, comienzas evitando sentir pánico y preguntando: ¿Por qué? el devocional de ayer se trató de eso.

Pero luego pides más tiempo.

¿Por qué? Tú más grande tentación cuando estás en medio de una crisis es ser impulsivo. Típicamente no piensas racionalmente. Estás pensando emocionalmente. Quieres tomar una decisión rápida.

Pero es más importante tomar la decisión correcta que tomar una decisión rápida.

Una decisión equivocada está equivocada no importa que tan rápido la hagas.

Así que, da un paso atrás, respira profundamente, tranquilízate y habla con Dios.

Daniel hizo esto cuando el rey le pidió que interpretara un sueño (después de haber matado a los primeros que lo habían intentado).

La Biblia dice: “Daniel fue a ver al rey inmediatamente y le pidió más tiempo para comunicarle el significado del sueño”  Daniel 2:16 (NTV).

No sé si hubiera podido hacer esto de adolescente. Daniel fue inmediatamente con el poderoso Rey y le pidió más tiempo.

Daniel no aplazó, pero tampoco hizo una decisión rápida. Él nos dio un gran modelo para tratar con una situación de alta presión.

What Difference Does Faith Make?

All that God wants to do in your life, he does on the basis of faith.

Everybody has faith. Even an atheist has faith. It’s just a matter of what you put your faith in and the amount of faith you have.

Would you like to have more faith in your life? Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (NIV). The Bible says we get faith through listening to the Word of God. Over the next few days, as we look at Scriptures that illustrate and explain how positive faith can make a difference in your life, your faith will grow.

So, what difference does faith make in your life?

Faith determines what God can do in your life. The Bible says, “According to your faith let it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29 NIV). God says you get to choose how many blessings you have in your life. You get to choose how many answered prayers you have. You get to choose how much he can work in your life. It’s according to your faith. There are thousands of promises in the Bible, and faith is the key that unlocks those promises.

You don’t have to pray, “Dear Sir, if you’re not too busy and if you can afford it, here’s my request.” Matthew 21:22 says, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (NIV).

Faith is so powerful that when you put just a little of it in a big God, you get big results. Faith turns dreams into reality. It’s the basis for any miracle in your life. Does God do miracles today? Of course he does! He does them through people and through prayer.

The Bible says in 1 John 5:4, “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith” (ESV). Faith gives you confidence. It neutralizes fear. It gives you the ability to press on. Imagine Moses and Aaron standing before the Red Sea and Moses turning to Aaron and saying, “You first!”

Faith gives you the confidence to move ahead, which produces success in your life.

No Matter How Badly You Mess Up, God Offers Mercy

No matter what you’re going through, you can live with hope. That’s the consistent, overriding message of the Bible. God will always treat you with grace and mercy.

 Peter writes to those who are already believers, “All honor to God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; for it is his boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born again” (1 Peter 1:3 TLB).

The more we understand grace, the more we’ll be amazed by it. It’s completely undeserved. It’s totally unmerited. It is not something that you could earn or work for. It’s just a free gift of God’s mercy.

You can’t make God love you any more than he loves you right now. You can’t make him love you any less. His love is based on his mercy for you.

God’s Word tells us, “When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:4-5 NLT).

This is extremely important to understand. When you make mistakes as a believer, God doesn’t get mad at you. God doesn’t want to get even with you. God doesn’t start planning to mess up your life. God always acts in mercy toward you. Why? Because you’re covered in the blood of Jesus Christ when you’ve accepted him as Savior. That’s why God responds in mercy every time you mess up.

And that can give you hope.

Si te Piden hacer lo Imposible, no entres en Pánico

 

“ Vale la pena invertir para obtener la verdad ”.  Proverbios 23:23a (PDT)

 

¿Alguna vez alguien te pidió que hicieras algo que creías imposible? Quizás un amigo, un jefe, o tu padre te pidió que hicieras algo que parecía demasiado grande para ti.

 

Puedes estar enfrentando tal petición ahora mismo. Te preguntarás, cómo puedes empezar.

 

En los siguientes devocionales, compartiré contigo lo que la Biblia dice acerca de cómo hacerle frente a lo imposible.

 

Pero comencemos hablando de por dónde empezar.

 

En primer lugar, no entres en pánico.

 

Sigue el modelo de Daniel. En Daniel 2, el rey Nabucodonosor fue a sus astrólogos con la necesidad desesperada de que interpretaran un sueño. Cuando no pudieron hacerlo, planeó ejecutarlos. Luego envió a alguien a buscar a Daniel.

La Biblia dice: “Cuando el comandante de la guardia real, que se llamaba Arioc, salió para ejecutar a los sabios babilonios, Daniel le habló con mucho tacto e inteligencia” Daniel 2:14 (NVI).

El hombre más poderoso del planeta había ordenado el asesinato de Daniel y de sus amigos. Cuando el asesino del rey apareció para matarlo, el joven de 17 años manejó la situación con sabiduría y discreción. No estuvo mal para un jovencito adolescente.

Daniel no entró en pánico. Tampoco deberíamos hacerlo nosotros.

En lugar de entrar en pánico, Daniel aprendió todos los hechos y buscó comprender la motivación detrás de la petición del rey.

La Biblia dice que Daniel, “Le preguntó a Arioc: ¿Por qué emitió el rey un decreto tan severo? Entonces Arioc le contó todo lo que había sucedido” Daniel 2:15 (NVI).

Cuando alguien te pide que hagas lo imposible, tú necesitas entender por qué. Necesitas todos los hechos.

El rey estaba muerto de miedo. Cuando la gente está entrando en pánico, se ponen sensibles. Empiezan a hacer peticiones ilógicas. Tú necesitas entender el por qué, antes de seguir adelante.

Proverbios 23:23a lo dice así: “Vale la pena invertir para obtener la verdad“ (PDT).

Así que si te piden hacer lo imposible, no te asustes. Obtén todos los hechos.
