God’s Inviting You on a Faith-Filled Adventure

God’s Inviting You on a Faith-Filled Adventure

Following Jesus is an invitation into a faith-filled adventure. Along the way, your journey will include many things—times of clarity and uncertainty, joy and heartache. To get you through each season, God has given you the gift of remembrance.

Here are six specific things you can remember to help you live a faithful, purpose driven life today.

Remember God’s Faithfulness in Your Past

1. Remember when you first came to Christ. “Think back on those early days when you first learned about Christ” (Hebrews 10:32 NLT). Right after you became a believer, your relationship with Jesus felt fresh. Remembering how he brought you from guilt to forgiveness, from darkness to light, gives you power to live the life God planned for you.

2. Remember the miracles God has done. “Remember the miracles he has done, his wonders, and his decisions” (1 Chronicles 16:12 NCV). A miracle is an event for which the only explanation is God—when a baby is born, when someone finds hope, when a dead relationship is brought back to life. Remembering God’s faithfulness in the past helps you trust him for the future.

Remember God’s Call on Your Life in the Present

3. Remember to be gracious. “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others” (Colossians 3:13 NLT). God’s grace has changed your life. Now he wants you to share that grace by forgiving other people. When you forgive, you hand your hurt over to God and are freed to live out his purpose.

4. Remember to be generous. “You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35 NLT). When you’re generous, it shows the world what God is like, breaks the grip of materialism, and helps you prioritize the best things in life.

Remember God’s Promises for Your Future

5. Remember that God will be with you. “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2 NLT). Whatever you face in the future, you won’t face it alone. That is the key to courage—there is nothing to fear when you know God is near.

6. Remember that God finishes what he starts. “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NIV). What God starts, he finishes. Where God guides, he provides. And where God leads, he meets your needs.

God wants your life to be an amazing adventure of faith. Are you willing to trust him completely as you remember his faithfulness in your past, present, and future?

Opening Doors to Reach the Unreached

Opening Doors to Reach the Unreached

Pastor Rick and his team recently ministered in Latin America and West Africa, where God is working in amazing ways through your partnership with Daily Hope.

In Peru, Pastor Rick spoke to a gathering of over 16,000 pastors and church leaders from all over Latin America. He urged them to join together to take the gospel to every person on earth—including those small, remote tribes of unreached people found throughout the region. He also shared an evangelistic message with the Congress of the Republic of Peru. Thousands of pastors have caught the vision and committed to working alongside Pastor Rick to share Jesus with the unreached across their continent.

As part of his efforts to fulfill the Great Commission, Pastor Rick sent a team to Africa, where they trained 600 church leaders in Côte d‘Ivoire. The leaders learned how to bring new attendees into church, train them for ministry, and send them out to the unreached around them for Christ. A local church partnered with Pastor Rick’s team to set up a PEACE center to strategically serve the Tura people, a neighboring unreached people group. The PEACE Center will include a medical clinic, adult education programs, savings groups, entrepreneurship classes, early childhood education, and a home for girls seeking educational opportunities.

“Your prayers are vital to this ongoing mission,” says Pastor Rick, “Pray for our health, and for doors to be opened around the world to fulfill the Great Commission.” Thank you for your continued partnership to make a difference and help pave the way for God’s work to spread across the globe.

Your Partnership Brings People Hope!

Your Partnership Brings People Hope!

Thanks to your kind and faithful support, these Daily Hope listeners have found God’s strength to begin overcoming lifelong struggles.

“Daily Hope has been a lamp to my feet, and an oasis in a broken world. When Pastor Rick spoke on how some of the gentlest people in the Bible struggle with anger, it gave me great hope because anger has derailed my life on multiple occasions, and it is still something I struggle with today. With a teachable spirit, I can sense God cheering me, giving me the strength to break every chain, and channel my emotions so that I can be used for good and not evil.”  — Steven

I started listening to your Daily Hope broadcast after a long stint in rehab. I stumbled across a link to the devotional online and knew that it was an answer to prayer. I started listening and felt as if God was speaking directly to me. I can’t describe in words the joy that came to me through your insightful and inspiring teachings of love, hope, and a better way. Thank you, Pastor Rick, for Daily Hope, for helping people live better lives.” — Nathan

These testimonies give just a small glimpse into the big work that God is doing through Daily Hope. Every day, the ministry of Daily Hope is reaching more and more people. They’re finding salvation and purpose as they meet Jesus and grow in relationship with him.

A Note from Pastor Rick

A Note From Pastor Rick

Dear Friend,

Did you know that God delights in you? You don’t have to do anything to earn that delight. He loves and enjoys you just because he created you. The Bible says, “Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11 KJV).

When my children were small, I sometimes watched them sleep. As I saw their chests rise and fall, I felt so much love and joy. They didn’t need to do anything special; I found joy simply from being their father. That’s the way your heavenly Father is toward you. God loves you simply because he made you.

Maybe you think God smiles on you only when you’re doing something “spiritual.” But here’s the truth: Because God created you, he gets pleasure out of just watching you be you.

The Bible says that “God is love” (1 John 4:16 NLT). Love is his nature. And because you’re made in God’s image, you can love God in return.

In the Living Bible paraphrase, God says, “I don’t want your sacrifices—I want your love; I don’t want your offerings—I want you to know me” (Hosea 6:6 TLB). Can you sense the passion in this verse? It ultimately doesn’t matter how many achievements you rack up—or how many failures you experience. The most important thing you can know is that God loves you. And the most important thing you can do is to love him back.

I’m grateful that you and I get to grow together in God’s love through Daily Hope. If Daily Hope has helped you love God more, I’d like to hear your story. Just drop me a line at Rick@PastorRick.com.

You’re a blessing to me!

¿Qué vas a hacer esta semana para mostrarle a Dios que puedes ser fiel en las cosas pequeñas?¿Por qué es tan difícil guardar un secreto? ¿Cuál es la motivación detrás del chisme?¿Qué sacrificios tendrás que hacer para que puedas pasar tiempo con la gente y ganar su confianza?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Si estás listo para cruzar esa línea y tomar la decisión de creer en Jesucristo y seguirlo; haz esta oración.Más recursos en español y en otros idiomas incluyendo ASL — Lenguaje de Signos Americano RickWarren.org.Síguenos en Instagram & Facebook y comparte Esperanza Diaria con tus amigos y familiares.Recibe durante un mes un versículo de inspiración diario por WhatsAppNota: Desafortunadamente tenemos restricciones para enviar mensajes por WhatsApp a CUBA. .fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; }

Don’t Miss the Warning Signs of Pride

“So then, Your Majesty, follow my advice. Stop sinning, do what is right, and be merciful to the poor. Then you will continue to be prosperous.”

Daniel 4:27 (GNT)

Too often when life is going well, we become prideful. And pride often leads to a downfall. As Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall” (NLT).

Pride blinds us, making it easy to miss the warning signs of an impending fall.

You can make some simple choices that will help keep you humble—and help you spot the warning signs of a coming fall before it’s too late. If you find yourself in a position of influence or wealth, for example, you might simply need to go home, mow your own lawn, wash your own dishes, and take care of the people around you.

But no matter who you are or what your life is like, you also need to be on the lookout for messages from God that you’re headed down the wrong prideful path and need to be humble enough to turn around.

Nebuchadnezzar’s life is a clear picture of this. God cared enough about this pagan king to warn him about what was coming his way in Daniel 4. God could have just removed Nebuchadnezzar from power—but instead he warned him and gave him a chance to change his ways. God gave him a dream, he brought Daniel to interpret the dream, and Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar what was going to happen and how to avoid it. You can’t get much clearer than that!

Daniel told the king, “So then, Your Majesty, follow my advice. Stop sinning, do what is right, and be merciful to the poor. Then you will continue to be prosperous” (Daniel 4:27 GNT).

Through Daniel, God gave Nebuchadnezzar three things to do and said success would follow. But the king chose to ignore this warning.

Is it possible you are ignoring or missing God’s warning signs too?

Maybe you’re having conflict in a relationship. You’re just passing it off as the other person’s problem, but God wants to use it as a warning sign—to show you that you’re off track in some area of your life.

It could be a temptation you’re battling because you’re continually putting yourself in a bad situation. Or maybe it’s chaos and confusion in your life. These all are signs that you’re not trusting God—that you’re trying to do life on your own terms.

God’s trying to tell you through these warning signs: “Stop sinning! Come back to me!”

If you’re heading down the wrong path, God loves you enough to give you a warning. Listen to his warning, repent of your pride, and return to him in humility today. He has given us this promise: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9 NIV).

How have you been blinded by pride in the past? What warning signs did you miss or choose to ignore?
Do you think God might be trying to warn you now that you’re heading down a wrong path? What do you think he’s saying to you?
What are practical steps you can take to choose humility over pride in your daily life?

Sirves a Dios Sirviendo a otras Personas

¿Por qué es importante para la gente fuera del cuerpo de Cristo ver a otros sirviendo juntos con gozo y unidad?¿Alguna vez te has sentido aislado en el ministerio? ¿De qué manera el servir o no en equipo incide en cómo te sientes?¿Cómo quieres ser usado por Dios? ¿En qué formas podrías alcanzar a mejorar esas metas trabajando junto a otros?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Si estás listo para cruzar esa línea y tomar la decisión de creer en Jesucristo y seguirlo; haz esta oración.Más recursos en español y en otros idiomas incluyendo ASL — Lenguaje de Signos Americano RickWarren.org.Síguenos en Instagram & Facebook y comparte Esperanza Diaria con tus amigos y familiares.Recibe durante un mes un versículo de inspiración diario por WhatsAppNota: Desafortunadamente tenemos restricciones para enviar mensajes por WhatsApp a CUBA. .fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; }

The Fire Is for Refining

“I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering.”

Isaiah 48:10 (NLT)

When Daniel and his friends went through the fire, they didn’t burn up. Their clothes didn’t get singed. They didn’t even smell like fire! The only thing that got burned up were the manmade ropes they were tied up with.

What’s got you tied up? What’s holding you back? What’s limiting you from being all God meant for you to be?

God can use the trials in your life to eliminate what’s holding you back.

No one likes those times when things get stressful, deadlines are coming too fast, and expectations seem unreachable. But sometimes God uses heat in your life to burn off the stuff that’s tying you down. You just need to trust God through the pain.

God said in Isaiah 48:10, “I have refined you, but not as silver is refined. Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering” (NLT).

It’s unlikely you’ll literally go through a fiery furnace in your life, but you’ll go through the furnace of suffering many, many times. But God never wastes a hurt! He promises to refine you with that fire.

It’s like silver and gold. When it’s heated up, all the impurities are burned off. Then, you’re left with 100 percent gold or silver.

If you ask a silversmith how to know when silver is pure, he’ll tell you it happens when you can see your reflection while looking into the cauldron.

God knows you’re purified when he can see his own reflection in you, because you look more like Jesus Christ.

Only the fire can do that in your life. Only the fire can test you and refine you and show you what really matters.

Wherever you are feeling the heat today, you need to remember what the fire is producing in your life. Trusting God will not always take away the heat. But it will help you see how he is walking with you and help you thank him for how he is making you more like him.

Talk It Over

What are some of the refining trials God has brought you through? How have they made you more like Jesus?
Sometimes it’s easier to turn away from Christ in the midst of our suffering instead of allowing it to make us more like him. Why is this so?
Why is it important for others to see that trials make us depend on God’s strength and not our own?

Santiago 5:16 a (RVC)

Entonces eres perdonado. ¿Lo has confesado? Entonces eres perdonado.

¿A veces es más difícil confesar tus errores a las personas dentro de la familia de Dios? ¿Por qué crees que esto es así?¿Cuáles son las cosas que tienes que aceptar del perdón para poder moverte hacia la sanidad emocional?¿Qué significa “vivir en la luz”?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Si estás listo para cruzar esa línea y tomar la decisión de creer en Jesucristo y seguirlo; haz esta oración.Más recursos en español y en otros idiomas incluyendo ASL — Lenguaje de Signos Americano RickWarren.org.Síguenos en Instagram & Facebook y comparte Esperanza Diaria con tus amigos y familiares.Recibe durante un mes un versículo de inspiración diario por WhatsAppNota: Desafortunadamente tenemos restricciones para enviar mensajes por WhatsApp a CUBA. .fb-background-color { background: #ffffff !important; } .fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe { width: 100% !important; }

God Walks Through the Fire With You

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)

There’s an expression that some people use when the pressure gets tight and the deadlines are close. They say, “The heat is on.”

No one likes that feeling.

The prophet Daniel had three friends who truly experienced the heat being on them.

In Daniel 3, when his friends wouldn’t bow in worship to a statue of King Nebuchadnezzar, the king angrily had them tossed into a fire and had the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual.

The heat was on—literally.

But God walked with them through it: “Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, ‘Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?’ They replied, ‘Certainly, Your Majesty.’ He said, ‘Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods’” (Daniel 3:24-25 NIV).

Of course, you and I know it wasn’t “a son of the gods” in there with those guys. It was Jesus—the only Son of God. He was walking through the fire with them. And he’ll walk through the fire with you too.

Jesus told us, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:20 NIV).

The Bible says you’ll never be alone. God will always be there with you and for you.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze” (Isaiah 43:2 NIV).

The Bible doesn’t say if you pass through the waters; it says when you pass through the waters.

You will have troubles. But Jesus will always walk through them with you. His Spirit in you will give you the strength and courage you need to trust him and see it through.

The heat may be on, but you are not alone.
