Confiar en Dios para lo Imposible

“ Lo que es imposible para los hombres es posible para Dios ”. Lucas 18:27 (NVI)

Quizás sientas que estás en una situación imposible. Tal vez tu matrimonio esté al borde del divorcio. Tal vez la bancarrota esté a la vuelta de la esquina. Tal vez tu enfermedad crónica haya llegado a definir cada área de tu vida.

La situación puede estar fuera de tu control, pero no está fuera del control de Dios.

Esa es una lección que podemos aprender de la vida de Abraham. Dios le dijo a Abraham, de 75 años, que dejara todo lo que conocía y fuera a una tierra que nunca había visto (Génesis 12:4). Y Dios también le dijo a Abraham que un día sería el padre de una nación entera, a pesar de que él y su esposa, Sara, no tenían hijos y eran bastante mayores para entonces.

Pero Abraham creyó a Dios. Romanos 4:17 dice: “delante de Dios, tal como está escrito: «Te he confirmado como padre de muchas naciones». Así que Abraham creyó en el Dios que da vida a los muertos y que llama las cosas que no son como si ya existieran” (NVI).

Este versículo da la definición de un milagro: cuando Dios da vida a algo que estaba muerto o cuando crea algo de la nada.

Dios puede dar vida a una carrera muerta, a un matrimonio muerto, a sueños muertos y a finanzas muertas. Y puede hacer algo de la nada.

Jesús dijo: “Todo es posible para el que cree” Marcos 9:23 (PDT).

Pero es importante entender en quién creyó Abraham. No creyó en sí mismo. No creyó en sus sentimientos. Tampoco puso su fe en la fe. Romanos 4:17 dice que Abraham creyó en Dios.

El objeto de su fe era Dios, nada más.

Creo en el pensamiento positivo, pero el pensamiento positivo y la fe no son lo mismo. El pensamiento positivo solo funciona cuando tienes control sobre la situación. No sirve de nada si la situación está fuera de tu control. Cuando estás en un callejón sin salida, necesitas algo más que un pensamiento feliz.

Debes depositar tu fe en Dios porque “Lo que es imposible para los hombres es posible para Dios” Lucas 18:27 (NVI).

You Are the Focus of God’s Love

“Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, [God] had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love.”

Ephesians 1:4 (MSG)

Did you know that, when God looks at you, he loves you simply because he made you?

When my three children were small, I would sit by the side of their bed at night and just watch them sleep. I’d watch their chests rise and fall. Because I was their father, I got so much joy out of watching them sleep peacefully.

That’s the way your heavenly Father feels about you.

The Bible says, “Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, [God] had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love” (Ephesians 1:4 MSG). Before God even created the universe, he thought of you. In fact, the Bible says that the entire universe was created simply so God could create the human race and love us. We are the focus of his love, unlike anything else in creation.

You were created to be loved by God.

When you let that profound truth sink into your soul, you will never again have a problem with insecurity or low self-esteem. Because when you realize that God created you in order to love you, it will take away all those uncertain feelings.

In Hosea 6:6, God says, “I don’t want your sacrifices—I want your love; I don’t want your offerings—I want you to know me” (TLB). The most important thing you can know is that God created you to love you. And the most important thing you can do is to love him back. That’s your number one purpose in life.

The tragedy is that most people go through their entire life missing their purpose. They know all kinds of things—stock quotes, sports scores, who’s on the cover of their favorite magazine—but they don’t know God.

You may know about God, but do you know him personally? Do you have a friendship—a love relationship—with God? If not, I encourage you to take that step today.

Talk It Over

Are you surprised by how much God loves you?
In what ways does God show his love for you?
What can you do to develop a deeper relationship with God?

God wants you in his family.

God made you to love you, and one of the places you see that most clearly is on the cross. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God made it possible for you to become part of his family for eternity. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you’ve got a place in God’s forever family ready and waiting for you. The invitation is wide open. Just believe and receive.

Are you ready? Here’s a prayer you can start with: “Dear God, I know when I die, I’m going to give an account of my life to you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want that to change, starting right now. I want to turn away from my sins and toward you.

“Thank you for sending Jesus to die for everything I’ve done wrong so I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me.

“Jesus, thank you making me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus, and accept you as my Lord and Savior. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Confiar en Dios a Través de las Seis Etapas de la Fe

“ Dios hizo todo hermoso en su tiempo, luego puso en la mente humana la noción de eternidad, aun cuando el hombre no alcanza a comprender la obra que Dios realiza de principio a fin ”. Eclesiastés 3:11 (NVI)

¿Alguna vez has estado apurado cuando Dios no lo estaba? Nunca es fácil sentarse en la sala de espera de Dios, donde estás esperando algo de Él. Nada de lo que hagamos ayudará a que la respuesta a nuestra oración llegue un segundo antes de que Dios decida entregarla.

Abraham lo entendió. Dios le dio un sueño imposible: que sería el padre de una nación. A los 75 años y sin hijos, esto parecía una locura.

Pero el tiempo de Dios resultó ser perfecto, tal como Salomón escribiría siglos después: “Dios hizo todo hermoso en su tiempo, luego puso en la mente humana la noción de eternidad, aun cuando el hombre no alcanza a comprender la obra que Dios realiza de principio a fin” Eclesiastés 3:11 (NVI).

No podemos entender todo lo que Dios está haciendo, pero podemos estar seguros de que su tiempo es perfecto. De hecho, Dios siempre te lleva por etapas predecibles de fe. Abraham pasó por estas mismas seis etapas.

Comprenderlas puede ayudarte a confiar en Dios cuando no estás seguro de cómo está obrando en tu vida.

Las seis etapas de la fe:

Sueño: Dios te da un sueño para tu familia, tu iglesia o tu comunidad. Dios le dio a Abraham el sueño de ser una gran nación, pero eso fue solamente el comienzo (Génesis 12:2-3).Decisión: Tienes que dar un paso de fe y tomar la decisión de actuar según el sueño que Dios te ha dado. Abraham arriesgó todo para dejar su tierra natal e ir a un lugar que nunca había visto ni oído hablar antes.Retraso: Dios nunca cumple un sueño instantáneamente. Durante este período de retraso, parece que nada está sucediendo. Once años después de que Dios le dio a Abraham su sueño, la Biblia dice que Dios todavía no le había dado a Abraham y a su esposa, Sara, un hijo (Génesis 16:1). ¿Qué sucedió en esos 11 años? Nada. Abraham simplemente esperó, y Abraham y Sara continuarían esperando.Dificultad: Enfrentarás problemas mientras persigues el sueño de Dios. Tus perspectivas pueden parecer ir de mal en peor hasta llegar a ser imposibles. Abraham, a la edad de 99 años, parecía haber superado la edad en la que era posible tener un hijo.
Pero, incluso cuando el sueño parecía imposible, Dios finalmente le dio un hijo a Abraham y Sara.Callejón sin salida: Dios permite que tu sueño aparentemente muera. A Abraham se le pidió que renunciara a su hijo milagroso. Dios le pidió a Abraham que sacrificara su sueño.Liberación: Cuanto más desesperanzador sea el callejón sin salida, mayor será la liberación. Te quedarás con la certeza de que solo Dios podría haber hecho lo que hizo.

¿En cuál de estas seis etapas te encuentras? Dios te llevará a través de ellas una y otra vez en esta vida a medida que hace crecer tu fe.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Cuál es un sueño que Dios te ha dado? ¿Cómo sabes que Dios te dio ese sueño?¿En qué parte de este viaje te encuentras ahora mismo? ¿Cuál es la parte más difícil de esta etapa específica?¿Por qué crees que Dios nos da retrasos cuando perseguimos sus sueños? ¿Por qué no haría que nuestros sueños se hicieran realidad al instante?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Don’t Just Hear the Bible. Remember It.

“Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.”

Proverbs 4:20-22 (NLT)

You don’t become wise just because you hear something that’s wise. You’ve got to remember that wisdom and then apply it. Because if you don’t remember and apply it, you’ll end up having to learn the same lesson over and over.

The Bible says this about wisdom in Proverbs 22:17-18: “Listen, and I will teach you what the wise have said. Study their teachings, and you will be glad if you remember them and can quote them” (GNT). Notice the four verbs in that sentence: listen, study, remember, quote. Those are marks of wisdom.

People often say, “I can’t remember anything!” But the truth is, we all can remember what’s important to us. We remember what we love. We remember what really matters to us.

For instance, you might say, “I can’t memorize the Bible.” But you remember baseball or football statistics from the last season. And you can quote lyrics to popular songs or every step of a favorite recipe. You remember what’s important to you.

The Bible says, “Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body” (Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT).

When you develop a passion for God’s Word, the truth becomes important to you. And as you remember it and apply it, your life will begin to change.

Talk It Over

Why is it often easier to remember a sports statistic or your favorite recipe than it is to remember God’s Word?
How does your view of God affect your desire to study and remember his Word?
If you find that you don’t have much desire for the Bible, ask God to cultivate in you a deeper love for him and for his Word.

Where will you spend eternity?

Your sins separate you from God. And it is only God’s grace that allows you back into a right relationship with him.

The Bible says, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).

If you’re ready to make peace with your Creator, then pray this prayer:

“Dear Jesus, I don’t want my sin to separate me from you any longer. You have promised that if I believe in you, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess my sin, and I believe you are my Savior. You have promised that if I confess my sin and trust you, I will be saved. I believe you when you say salvation comes by grace, through faith, and not by anything I do. I receive you into my life as my Lord. Today, I’m turning over every part of my life to your management.

“I want to live the way you created me to live and use the rest of my life to serve you instead of serving myself. I commit my life to you and ask you to save me and accept me into your family. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Confiar en Dios Significa Obedecerlo Completamente

“Dios mío, tú nos diste tus instrucciones para que las obedeciéramos fielmente”. Salmo 119:4 (PDT)

La obediencia parcial sigue siendo desobediencia. No puedes simplemente elegir qué mandamientos de Dios vas a seguir.

Hay dos verdades importantes que debes entender relacionadas con los mandamientos de Dios:

El estándar de Dios sobre lo que está bien y lo que está mal nunca cambia. Si algo estaba mal hace 6000 años, sigue estando mal hoy. Las culturas cambian. Las opiniones populares cambian. Pero la verdad nunca cambia. La verdad es eterna.

La perspectiva de Dios es más grande que la tuya. Dios ve lo que tú no puedes ver. Es humanamente imposible ver el pasado antes del comienzo del tiempo o hacia la eternidad o entender todo lo que sucede a tu alrededor, visible e invisible.

Debes confiar en Dios. “Lo que ustedes deben hacer es obedecer la ley de Dios, no criticarla” Santiago 4:11 (TLA).

La tentación más antigua no es el asesinato ni la lujuria, sino la tentación de dudar de la Palabra de Dios. Satanás sigue usando la misma mentira que le dijo a Eva cuando le dijo: “¿De veras Dios les dijo que no deben comer del fruto de ninguno de los árboles del huerto?” Génesis 3:1 (NTV). La convenció de que sus deseos eran más importantes que los mandamientos de Dios.

La fe es confiar en Dios en los detalles y obedecer completamente, no solo la parte que entiendes o la parte que te apetece hacer. Proverbios 3:5 nos dice: “Confía en el Señor con todo tu corazón; no dependas de tu propio entendimiento” (NTV).

La historia de Naamán en la Biblia ilustra la necesidad de una obediencia completa (2 Reyes 5). Naamán era el comandante del ejército sirio, pero también tenía lepra. Uno de sus sirvientes le dijo que el profeta Eliseo podía sanarlo. Cuando Naamán llegó a la puerta de Eliseo, el profeta no salió él mismo, sino que envió un mensajero que le dijo a Naamán que se sumergiera en el río Jordán siete veces.

Naamán estaba enojado porque el profeta no le habló personalmente y las instrucciones de Eliseo le parecieron ridículas. Naamán comenzó a regresar a casa.

Pero sus sirvientes lo convencieron de que no tenía nada que perder si hacía lo que Eliseo le decía. Así que Naamán fue al Jordán y se sumergió siete veces. ¡Y Dios lo sanó!

Imagínese si Naamán hubiera regresado a casa enojado. Imagínese si solo se hubiera sumergido en el agua seis veces y luego hubiera decidido que Dios lo estaba haciendo quedar como un tonto.

Pero Naamán confió y obedeció a Dios por completo, y Dios lo sanó de su lepra.

Imagínate lo que Dios hará en tu vida cuando lo obedezcas por completo con todo tu corazón.

¿Hay áreas en tu vida en las que has sido parcialmente obediente a Dios? ¿Qué te impide obedecer completamente?¿Cuáles son algunos de los desafíos que has enfrentado al intentar obedecer a Dios por completo?¿Cómo has visto a Dios obrar en tu vida porque lo has obedecido por completo, incluso cuando al principio lo dudaste?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? To Become Wise, Spend Time with Wise People

“Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer.”

Proverbs 13:20 (NCV)

If you want to be wise, invite wise people into your life.

You don’t need a lot of friends. You don’t need to be popular. You just need a few good friends who build you up, not tear you down—who are wise, not fools.

If you hang around with fools, that’s what you become. But if you spend time with wise people, you’ll grow wiser. It’s like the old saying: “If you want to soar with the eagles, you can’t run with the turkeys.”

People grow best in community. You can’t grow to spiritual maturity by yourself. God designed us to need each other. Wisdom shows up primarily in relationships.

You could become a monk and move to the top of a mountain and spend your life in silence and reading books; you would grow in knowledge, but you wouldn’t grow in wisdom. You can hold advanced academic degrees but still have your relationships fall apart; being educated doesn’t necessarily mean you’re wise.

The Bible says in Proverbs 13:20, “Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer” (NCV). 

If I stand on the edge of a stage, and I’m trying to pull you up while you’re trying to pull me down, which is easier to do? It’s always easier for somebody to pull you down than pull you up. But people who pull you down are not your true friends. Real friends pull you up. They encourage you in your pursuit of godly wisdom by offering their own.

Do you have anybody in your life who is sharing their wisdom on a regular basis? You need that kind of encouragement in your life if you want to be a wise person.

Talk It Over

Who are the people closest to you? How are they encouraging you in spiritual growth and wisdom? Or, on the other hand, how are they distracting you from learning to live wisely?
What wise, mature Christian would you like to cultivate a deeper relationship with so you can grow in wisdom? What younger believer would you like to invest time with so you can share what you’ve learned already?
Why is it more important to have a few deep relationships than to have a lot of friends?

No Tienes que Entender el “Por qué”

“Perseguiré tus mandatos”. Salmo 119:32 (NTV)

Si hay un momento en la vida en el que necesitas apresurarte, es cuando Dios te dice que actúes, incluso si no entiendes por qué.

Salmo 119:32 dice: “Perseguiré tus mandatos” Salmo 119:32 (NTV).

No necesitas comprender completamente algo para beneficiarte de ello. No entiendo cómo vuelan los aviones pesados, pero vuelo a menudo. No entiendo cómo funcionan las computadoras, pero uso una todo el tiempo. No entiendo el motor de combustión interna, pero he conducido un automóvil durante años.

No tienes que entender algo para disfrutarlo y beneficiarte de ello. Y no tienes que entender por qué Dios te dice que hagas algo para beneficiarte de tu obediencia.

Si eres padre, probablemente le has dicho a tu hijo que haga algo y te ha respondido: “¿Por qué debería hacer eso?”. Y es posible que hayas respondido con cuatro pequeñas palabras: “Porque yo lo digo”.

Cuando haces eso, estás diciendo mucho más que esas cuatro palabras. En realidad, estás diciendo: “He estado aquí mucho más tiempo que tú. No tienes la edad suficiente para entender, pero un día lo harás. Te estoy diciendo que hagas esto por tu propio bien”.

Y si alguien tiene el derecho y la autoridad de decir: “Porque yo lo digo”, es Dios, el Creador y Gobernante omnipotente del universo y nuestro Padre celestial.

En la Biblia, siempre que Dios da una orden sin una fecha específica, espera una acción inmediata.

Te daré un ejemplo. Cuando nuestros hijos estaban creciendo, mi esposa, Kay, a veces llamaba a la familia a cenar a una hora específica. Cuando decía: “Vengan a cenar a las 5:30”, significaba que teníamos que estar listos para comer a esa hora. Pero si ella decía: “¡Ven a cenar!” sabíamos que eso significaba ahora.

A los niños les gusta jugar todo tipo de juegos para retrasar su obediencia.

A veces fingen que no te escuchan. Hacemos esto con Dios todo el tiempo. Fingimos que no podemos escucharlo, aunque esté hablando claramente.

Otro juego es “Imagina que mamá está hablando con otra persona”: “No querías que llegara a cenar a las 5:30, ¿verdad?”.

Hacemos lo mismo con Dios cuando leemos un mandato en la Biblia y pretendemos que está hablando con otra persona.

Pero ninguno de estos trucos engaña a Dios. Estas tácticas dilatorias son una rebelión sutil que cuestiona la autoridad de Dios o su plan.

La fe es obedecer el mandato de Dios inmediatamente, incluso cuando no lo entiendes o cuando ves obstáculos por delante. Da un paso adelante con fe, sabiendo que Dios está motivado por su amor por ti y que tiene en mente lo mejor para ti.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Cuáles son algunas tácticas de demora que has intentado usar para obedecer a Dios?¿Cuáles son algunas de las consecuencias que pueden surgir de la obediencia tardía?Piensa en algunas estrategias que puedes emplear para incorporar mejor en tu vida el hábito de la obediencia inmediata. ¿En cuál comenzarás a trabajar hoy?

 

¿Qué harás cuando Jesús regrese?

La Biblia dice que solo puedes llegar al cielo confiando en el Hijo de Dios, Jesucristo. No puedes ganarte la entrada al cielo: “Porque por gracia ustedes han sido salvados mediante la fe. Esto no procede de ustedes, sino que es el regalo de Dios y no por obras, para que nadie se jacte” Efesios 2:8-9 (NVI).

Si estás listo para entregar tu vida a Jesús, comienza por hacer esta oración:

“Querido Dios, has prometido que, si creo en tu Hijo, Jesucristo, todo lo malo que haya hecho será perdonado, aprenderé el propósito de mi vida y me aceptarás en tu hogar eterno en el cielo un día.

Confieso que he pecado y te pido perdón. Creo que Jesús murió para quitar mis pecados y que tú lo resucitaste. Quiero confiar en Jesús como mi Salvador y seguirlo como Señor desde este día en adelante. Guía mi vida y ayúdame a hacer tu voluntad. En el nombre de Jesús, te lo pido. Amén”.

Wise People Ask Questions and Then Listen

“People’s thoughts can be like a deep well, but someone with understanding can find the wisdom there.”

If you want to be wise, learn how to ask wise questions.

Proverbs 20:5 says, “People’s thoughts can be like a deep well, but someone with understanding can find the wisdom there” (NCV). In other words, everybody has something to teach you. You may have to draw their wisdom out like water from a deep well—but it’s worth the time to do that.

How do you draw the wisdom out? You learn to ask smart questions.

As I’ve traveled around the world, I’ve asked questions of taxicab drivers and prime ministers—and they all have taught me something. If you know the right questions to ask, you can learn from anybody!

One thing I’ve realized is that I never learn anything while I’m talking. If my mouth is moving, I’m not learning. You don’t learn when you’re talking either; you learn when you’re listening. So you’ve got to learn to listen.

The late American TV host Larry King once said this: In an interview show, if the host is talking 50 percent of the time, something is terribly wrong. The host should listen the most and talk the least. A good TV host sets up the question and then just listens.

I’ve done a lot of interviews over the years, and I’ve noticed fewer and fewer hosts following Larry King’s advice. More often, interview shows are about the interviewer—whose goal is to draw attention to themselves—and not about the guests.

In your life, be more like the host who has learned to listen. Be a person who believes you can learn from anyone.

You just have to be willing to ask good questions—and then listen. That’s the mark of a wise person.

Talk It Over

Try to spend a whole day focusing on listening rather than talking. What difference does it make?
What do you communicate to someone when you ask them a question and then listen to the answer with focus and interest?
To draw wisdom out of people, you need to learn to ask wise questions. What is a wise question you’d like to ask someone in your life?

Speaking of wise questions, are you certain of where you will go when you die?

The Bible says every one of us has sinned and the penalty for sin is death. But God loves you so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for your sins and to bring you into the family of God.

If you’re ready to enter God’s family, The Bible says you can get to heaven only by trusting in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. You can’t earn your way into heaven: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).


If you’re ready to commit your life to Jesus, start by praying this prayer:
“Dear God, you have promised that if I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

“I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Deja de Temer al Fracaso y Confía en la Gracia de Dios

“ No hay una sola persona en la tierra que siempre sea buena y nunca peque ”. Eclesiastés 7:20 (NTV)

En este mundo, el fracaso es casi el pecado imperdonable. Idolatramos el éxito, pero ese tipo de presión genera un gran estrés en las personas. El temor al fracaso tiene muchas caras diferentes. Puede hacer que seas indeciso, adicto al trabajo o un perfeccionista que se aferra a la seguridad. Como tenemos temor de fracasar, evitamos todo tipo de riesgos.

Para muchos de nosotros, ese temor al fracaso tiene un control férreo sobre nuestros corazones. Incluso algunas de las mejores y más brillantes personas del mundo son las más afectadas por el temor al fracaso.

Por eso te insto a que internalices este simple mensaje: todos hemos cometido errores. No es solo un ‘problema tuyo’, sino un problema humano. La Biblia dice: “No hay una sola persona en la tierra que siempre sea buena y nunca peque” Eclesiastés 7:20 (NTV).

No solo has cometido errores en el pasado, sino que también cometerás más en el futuro. Te lo garantizo. Incluso jugar a lo seguro y negarte a correr riesgos es un error.

Como pastor, escucho a la gente preguntar todo el tiempo: “¿Qué pasa si fracaso?”. Quiero preguntarles: “¿Qué quieres decir con eso de ‘si’?”.

Ya has fracasado muchas, muchas veces en la vida. Yo también. En este momento eres un fracaso en algún área de tu vida y fracasarás mucho más en el futuro.

Incluso las superestrellas tropiezan. Los mejores jugadores de baloncesto profesionales solo encestan la mitad de sus tiros. Los mejores jugadores de béisbol profesionales solo llegan a base uno de cada tres turnos al bate. El fracaso es normal.

Nunca superarás tu temor al fracaso hasta que aceptes por completo la realidad de que no eres perfecto.

La Biblia dice que solo hay un fracaso al que debes temer: “Cuídense unos a otros, para que ninguno de ustedes deje de recibir la gracia de Dios. Tengan cuidado de que no brote ninguna raíz venenosa de amargura, la cual los trastorne a ustedes y envenene a muchos” Hebreos 12:15 (NTV).

Necesitas gracia. ¡Todos la necesitamos!

Solo cuando dejamos ir el temor al fracaso, este dejará de tener su control enloquecedor sobre nuestras vidas. Una vez que eso suceda, podremos aceptar plenamente la gracia de Dios.

Choose Faith over Fear

“By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.”

Hebrews 11:27 (NIV)

Moses made intentional resolutions about how to live his life, and it’s important that you do too. One of Moses’s resolutions was this: He chose to live by faith rather than by fear.

You’re going to face the same choice. Will you choose to live by faith or by fear?

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:27, “By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible” (NIV).

Moses went to the most powerful man in the world and said, “You know those slaves who are building all your pyramids? I’m taking them, and we’re all leaving. You’re not going to have slave labor anymore. Let my people go.”

Moses had every reason to be afraid; he was standing against the most powerful man on the planet. In those days, Pharaoh was considered a god, and whatever Pharaoh said was the law.

And here comes Moses, saying, “We aren’t going to do what you say anymore. I’m not afraid of you because I report to a higher authority.” It took some guts to do that!

Do you want that same kind of faith in your life so you can overcome your fear? The closer you get to God, the more you’re going to be filled with faith. The further away you get from God, the more you’re going to be filled with fear.

I cannot over-emphasize the importance of faith for the rest of your life. The Bible says, “Whatever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23 TLV).

How many times did you sin this week? A lot. So did I. Anything that I didn’t do in faith—that I did in doubt—was a sin.

The Bible also says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6 NIV). How many times did you please God this week?

Do you want something to change in your life? Stop complaining and start believing. God is not moved by complaints. God is moved by faith: “According to your faith let it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29 NIV). Your faith has a big impact on what God does in your life.

Here’s the key: What matters is not the size of your faith but the size of your God. A little faith in a big God gets big results!
