Adventures with Henry and Jay
It’s a week for celebrating — content edits on Becoming His Master (Neighborly Affection #4) are done! Henry and Jay are off to visit the copy editor, who’ll ferret out stray errors and any inconsistencies.
In the meantime, I want to send out a huge thank-you to all of the newsletter subscribers who have voted for what they want to see in October. (As a reminder, the choices are a new Tuesdays with Jay story or the first look at a scene from Becoming His Master.)
So far, the first look at Becom...

Neighborly Affection is coming to bookstores!
The Neighborly Affection series is going to be in bookstores!
The Neighborly Affection series is going to be in bookstores!
Yes, I’m so excited that I said it twice. It’s a sentence I never thought I’d be saying.

Coming to Books-A-Million in a paperback edition in November 2014!
You know when you walk into a bookstore and there’s some idiot sitting cross-legged on the floor pulling out every book, reading the backs, and gathering a stack 15 books high to buy? That’s been me since I was 2 years ol...

Tuesdays with Jay No. 4: Blanket Promise
Jay’s excellent at slipping into open spaces.
Between books, that is. He nudged right into the gap between drafting on the current work in progress and editing on Becoming His Master (Neighborly Affection 4).
Newsletter subscribers will get Tuesdays with Jay No. 4: Blanket Promise on Friday, Aug. 15.
A quick reminder: The newsletter goes out around the 15th of every month, and each one currently features an original Tuesdays with Jay flash fiction piece not available anywhere else as well as upd...

Change is terrifying until it’s not

When monsters run amok, stand your ground. They shall not pass. Plus, afterward you get to say you threw them down and smote their ruin upon the mountainside. When else do you get to make with the smiting?
Change enters our lives like monsters running amok. It’s easy to be flummoxed. Regaining our equilibrium can take time, patience, and fancy footwork. Or sometimes, just the will to shout stop.
Adjusting to life-altering change looks different for everyone. For the last few weeks, I’ve been ta...

Introducing: Jade’s Spirit by Jessi Gage
We’re doing something a little different today. This one’s for all the ladies who’d rather have a blue-collar man than a billionaire. (There’s something super-hot about a man who works with his hands no matter how much he makes, am I right?)
Indie author Jessi Gage has a new book coming out in August. Jade’s Spirit is the second book in her Blue Collar Boyfriends series (contemporary romance with paranormal panache), and the plot features something rarely spotted in the wild: an inexperienced...

Tuesdays with Jay No. 3: Security Blanket
It’s that time of the month again.
No, no, not that time. It’s the time when we jab MQ with sharp sticks until she drags her head out of the manuscript in progress and remembers the real world exists. (Mainly so she doesn’t forget to send out the newsletter.)
This month’s Tuesdays with Jay is all about riding a bike. Well, building a better bike. Or building a better relationship. For Henry, Jay, and Alice, it’s kind of all the same.
Newsletter subscribers can expect Tuesdays with Jay No. 3: Sec...

Healing the Wounds release day!
Henry wanted to give you all a little incentive to read today.
If you don’t have your copy yet, here’s where to find one:
Amazon
ARe
B&N
iTunes
Kobo
I know we all love the trio naked, but some shiny review clothes wouldn’t go amiss, right?
Shelly at Red Hot Books gave Healing the Wounds an A+ today! She says this one is hands-down her favorite book in the Neighborly Affection series. Do you agree?

Believing the impossible (or, what happens when you make the USA Today bestseller list)
“Sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
– The White Queen, Through the Looking Glass
When I started writing Playing the Game (Neighborly Affection #1) on April 1, 2012, I thought the date was a pretty good joke, because I was definitely fooling myself — it was impossible to believe I’d ever finish writing a novel.
When I sent the manuscript for Playing the Game to Lyrical Press in November 2012, I thought it was impossible that they’d pick my book out of the...

One wild, unexpected weekend and a Neighborly Affection update
Thanks, Jay. I’ll take it from here.
Wow. You all shifted my world on Friday, and the aftershocks are rumbling through Monday, too. You propelled Playing the Game (Neighborly Affection #1) to No. 13 in Amazon’s Kindle Store over the weekend. I couldn’t have imagined that in my wildest dreams.
And then you went back for seconds faster than Jay on waffle day, driving Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2) and Healing the Wounds (Neighborly Affection #3) to Earth-shaking rankings, too.
Massiv...
