Henry, Alice, and Jay play in the rain

Neighborly Affection 2: Crossing the Lines by M.Q. Barber

Jay: “Henry’s in charge of your pleasure. That’s how you know it’ll be good.”

Henry, Alice, and Jay are still out celebrating the release of Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2) this week. They’re dodging raindrops in a flash fiction piece on their way to a character interview at All I Want and More Books, and getting into about as much trouble as you’d expect from the trio:

…Instinct wavered between enjoying the show and finding him a towel. Stripping him down and drying him by hand se...

More games to play (and prizes to win)

TRRpromoposterIf you’re familiar with The Romance Reviews, you’re probably already playing their anniversary party games.

If you aren’t, here’s the deal: You check out fun excerpts and answer multiple choice questions, or you play a memory game or hangman, and you earn chances at hundreds of prizes. Seriously, hundreds.

The whole thing lasts all month long, but Henry, Jay, and Alice are being featured in the multiple choice game on Friday, March 7. Go show off your inside knowledge. :-)

To get in on the fun, yo...

Getting inside Crossing the Lines

The release week for Crossing the Lines has been just a huge outpouring of love for Henry, Jay, and Alice, for which I am so grateful.

Neighborly Affection 2: Crossing the Lines by M.Q. Barber

Jay: “Henry’s in charge of your pleasure. That’s how you know it’ll be good.”

It’s hard to express how “real” the characters feel during the writing process or how driving that intensity is to get every word just the way Alice would think it or Henry would say it or Jay would act it out. The standard is impossible to meet, but when readers feel that connection —...

Crossing the Lines release day

I can’t even express how exciting the release of Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2) makes me. The second book in the series takes us below the surface and wades into the fears and flaws in the relationship Henry, Jay, and Alice share.

Jay: “Henry’s in charge of your pleasure. That’s how you know it’ll be good.”

Today, I want to point you all to Red Hot Books, where Shelly has posted her review of Crossing the Lines and an interview with me about the series.

In her review, Shelly really...

2 reivews, 1 interview, and buckets of excitement

Neighborly Affection 2: Crossing the Lines by M.Q. Barber

Jay: “Henry’s in charge of your pleasure. That’s how you know it’ll be good.”

One more day! (Deep breath.)

Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2) is almost here.

Henry, Alice, and Jay are celebrating with a flash-fiction style interview at Up All Night, Read All Day book reviews, where reviewer Nanee McGee rose to the challenge of reading both Playing the Game and Crossing the Lines for her review.

This pair of four-star reviews has me super-excited on the eve of the new book release. :-) H...

“Credibility, honesty, respect” – a Crossing the Lines review

MaryMenageWhispers-5starLogoAside from writing, my favorite part of being an author is seeing readers make a personal connection to the characters. So I’m over the moon today because of the Mary’s Menage Whispers review of Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2).

Mary has a heaping helping of insights to share about romance, the D/s lifestyle, and menage relationships. I’m working hard to restrain myself from quoting the whole thing here.

Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2)But I love the way she identifies with Alice:

I am not sure if I can dare to sa...

Henry, Jay, and Alice visit the dragon’s den

With only one week to go before Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2) releases, it’s time for Henry, Jay, and Alice to go visiting. Today, they’ve been invited to play at the website of Eden Ashe, author of the Dragon Lore series. Drop by and see how Jay is embarrassing Alice in the Sunday Funday character interview.

And we’re back! Please pardon the disruption.

Neighborly Affection: Playing the Game by M.Q. Barber

“I will judge when you have had enough.” – Henry

Henry, Jay, and Alice took a way-too-long break from the sales floor while Lyrical Press and Kensington Publishing dealt with flurries of paperwork and snow, but I’m bouncy-giggly-delighted to say that Playing the Game (Neighborly Affection #1) is now available under the Kensington umbrella.

If you haven’t started reading the Neighborly Affection series yet, you’re hopping on at the perfect time. Book 2, Crossing the Lines, goes on sale March 3 a...

To Make You Feel My Love (Valentine’s Day Gift Hop)

ValentinesDayGiftHopWelcome, Valentine’s Day Gift Hop hoppers! Thanks for dropping by — please excuse the mess. Crossing the Lines (Neighborly Affection #2) is releasing March 3, and we all know housework is the first thing to fall by the wayside when life gets busy.

I would’ve put the laundry basket away, but the dog likes to sleep in it, and I don’t know what I’d do if my clean clothes weren’t covered in dog hair. And okay, maybe last night’s dishes are still soaking in the sink and the recycling hasn’t gone ou...
