Spreading sunshine

The Sunshine AwardFittingly enough, I’m writing and posting this on a day with plenty of sunshine at my house. I hope your day is equally bright.

The lovely Kylie Wolfe, fellow author and introvert, gifted me with a Sunshine Award. The idea is for bloggers to present the sun-loving flowers to other bloggers who “creatively and positively inspire others in the blogosphere.” Many thanks to Kylie for thinking so highly of me — I’m certain I don’t deserve it. I do, however, encourage you to pop over to her website...

New Playing the Game excerpt

Somehow I missed noticing that my publisher put up a page for Neighborly Affection: Playing the Game. (Duh, oblivious much in head-down writing mode?)

Nightmare, Day One

I crossed off the most nerve-wracking item on my to-do list today: submitting my second book to my publisher. Now comes the waiting and hoping it will be well-received. I’d better trim my fingernails before they end up well-chewed.

Playing the Game line edit back

I don’t know how she does it, but my content editor has the absolute best timing. No sooner do I whip book two into shape and churn out a synopsis for it (potentially the worst part of writing — condensing everything you love into two pages of straightforward explanation) than she drops a cheery note in my inbox with a line edit for book one.

That means Neighborly Affection: Playing the Game is one step closer to publication. (The dog is barking at all the happy dancing going on here.) A few m...
