Of reviews and sequels
My week started with the most amazing review of Playing the Game (Neighborly Affection #1) from Mary at Mary’s Menage Whispers. Amazing enough that I’m still giddy about it a week later.
Chapter after chapter, I was captivated by the very real process of a woman that discovers her submissive self and how a man tamed her, day after day, week after week, month after month. … It is the kind of book that makes you think: yeah, that makes sense. If I was in her shoes, I would act like this. And THI...

Day trip: Playing the Game gets the Jessi Gage treatment
It’s no secret that writers are needy souls. Not so much for ourselves, but for our characters. For the little book-babies bravely making their way in the world with a graduating class numbering in the tens of thousands. Will they find good homes and solid jobs entertaining readers?
The fear, of course, is that they’ll languish lonely and unread. But sometimes a reader comes along who instantly clicks with the book and the characters. And in rare and wonderful moments, that reader actually let...

Day trip: You gotta come along
I’m visiting the gorgeous You Gotta Read Reviews site today to talk about things like why I don’t have a hometown, why I love to swim, and why I think fictional sex should be meaningful.
It’s all related in my head, I swear. I can’t guarantee it’ll make sense outside my head, but you can be the judge.
Go, read my babbling on children’s literature, erotic romance, and David Hume. Yes, I’m all over the map today. You weren’t expecting coherence, right?

Day trip: The Fine Art of Verbal Seduction (aka talkin’ dirty)
I’m really excited about this one. See, interviews are big scary things for me, like the boogeyman rattling the closet door when you’re five years old and sleeping alone at Grandma’s house for the first time and just know the monster wants to eat your soul so you scrunch up in tight little ball with your back to the wall and stare down that closet door until the creaking goes away.
No? Just me, then? Okay. Ahem.
Anyway, today I’m guest blogging instead of interviewing! You won’t learn a thing a...

Day trip: Nagging voices, wordplay, and e-reader advice
I’ve packed up and moved to the blog Self Publish or Die today. Does it feel like I’m always traveling? It feels that way to me sometimes. Soon we’ll all need a vacation from vacations.
This time around, I’m sharing my seething resentment toward popsicles, my love for terrible jokes, why I watch Hoarders, and how a short story turned into a multiple-book series.
And I’m begging — begging, I say — for someone to tell me which e-reader or tablet to buy so I can stop reading books on my laptop.
Go,...

Day trip: Going back for seconds
Much like Jay going back for seconds on cheesecake, waffles, or just about anything Henry puts on the table, I’m venturing back to Love, Lust, and Lipstick Stains.
I had a great time sharing a steamy excerpt for the Hot Hump Day series, but this time around I’m exposing myself instead of my characters.
Uh … my thoughts. I’m exposing my thoughts on writing erotic romance in a Saturday Storyteller interview. You know: turn ons, getting in the mood, cranking up the heat, and other writerly behavio...

Day trip: M.Q. spills details of how little control she has
The wonderful medieval romance author Samantha Holt invited me to spill my secrets on her blog today.
Want to know how I’m being blackmailed? Want to see me admit to being a complete idiot? Want to know why I love brackets?
Go, read the interview, laugh at the silly writer.
Reminder: You have one day left to enter for a chance to win a copy of Playing the Game.

Day trip: Meet Henry Webb from Playing the Game
Confessions of an introvert: I’m a wee bit uncomfortable with attention. (Please, contain your surprise.) Thankfully, I don’t have to handle it all myself.
Henry fromPlaying the Game is taking his dominant self over to author Kathryn R. Blake’s blog for an interview in my place. Meet the enigmatic Mr. Webb as he spills a few secrets about how he came to be and how he, Jay, and Alice make my life a neverending nightmare of fun.
Read the interview here. (Site is NSFW-ish, although Henry is quite...
