Friday

1.) Sweet Uncleanness is down. I have no idea why, but I'll check on it. Apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks for letting me know.

2.) The storm puppy woke me up last night. I was like, what's your problem, go back to sleep. And then he threw up. And then I found out that he'd done some of his storm puppy business in the house.

It seems like throwing up made him feel better, so he's okay now. But what makes me uneasy is that I just got a new bag of dog food last night. Did somethi...

So this got longer than I'd expected

Tornadoes are circling the area, and they've already done some damage. Hoping for everyone to be in a safe place tonight.

In unrelated news, and you'll forgive me the shift in tone, but is anyone watching "Merlin?" Kim wants me to watch it, and I kind of want to know what I'd be in for.

My initial resistance comes from: I used to watch a lot of TV. I've pared it down a lot, and I'm hesitant to add more. Almost everything on TV is bad (please use that "almost" to consider the shows you like ...

Monday

Well, Tuesday, actually, according to the clock.

Someone remind me that the storm puppy's birthday is coming up. It's April 3rd or something.

I've been thinking about making my fiction more inclusive. When I finally have time to write something besides ITL, I'd like to work on that. But there are little ways to do it within ITL, too.

Is there actually someone sitting within my hearing talking about *NSYNC, saying that she only likes Justin because the rest of them are gay? Really? I haven't...

ITL

This week, ITL is all about art! And Xio Voe. And sex.

And not much else, really.

Good to see that Remin's feeling better these days. Kudorin's three-a-day plan must be working.

(Quick side note: threw three more pages of spammers off of the Mattboard member list. Will get back to you as soon as I have an answer on opening registration. In the meantime, if you want to register or if you accidentally got kicked out with the spammers, toss a comment in here and I'll check it out. Thank you!)

Mattboard

I want to thank [info:] lilacmajestyvpm for having been a terrific, ever-wonderful admin. I also want to thank [info:] mountie123 for all of her help.

I deleted all of the spam. I deleted the spammers' accounts. (Some shady-looking accounts remain, but we can ban and delete them if they get rowdy.)

For now, registration is closed. It should be open again soon, we're just figuring out some things behind the scenes.

Thanks again to [info:] lilacmajestyvpm and [info:] mountie123 , and to everyone on the board. Y'all are the b...

Hmm

Irritating: having to switch browsers depending on which site I'm opening, because no single browser is compatible with every site I use.

Better: having access to several browsers so I can open the sites I need, as opposed to being stuck with one, or no Net access at all, etc.

(For the record: I use Firefox and Chrome, with IE as needed.)

Any ideas?

Got a hypothetical for you. Say that someone's done something so heinous that the people closest to him are rejecting him, pushing him out, saying that he's not welcome among them anymore.

It's nothing illegal. Which means that it must have been something immoral, something that left them feeling horrified/disgusted and betrayed.

Maybe the fact that it's immoral, not illegal, is why I can't figure out what it is. Because morality is different to different people. And what some people consid...

When you see the Backstreet Boys, tell them that I love them.

Tell them that they've changed my life.

Tell them that the fact that they're still together makes me love them more every day.

Tell them that the world can make as many comparisons as it wants, and they can be as generous as they like, but no. There's no one else like the Backstreet Boys.

"In This Land"

I don't say this nearly often enough, obviously, but I wanted to welcome new ITL subscribers. New readers subscribe all of the time, and it's always great to have more people join us. Thank you for your support, and I hope that you're enjoying ITL!

(I have some messages in my in-box that I need to get back to some people about. Just wanted to let you know that I'll get back to you soon, it's just 2:38 in the morning here and I need to step out for a minute to, you know, nap and stuff.)

A step in the right direction

I needed some good news today, to distract me from the bad news that had me shouting and pounding on walls.

From The Washington Post :

Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler (D) declared Wednesday that Maryland will recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere and that its agencies should immediately begin affording gay married couples the same rights as heterosexual ones.

With Gansler's decision, Maryland in effect joins the District and a handful of states including New York that...
