Target

I was asked to share this video with y'all, and I'm happy to pass it along.

From the video's info:

Last week Target Corporation gave $150,000 to Minnesota Forward, which i[s] using the money to run TV ads for Republican Tom Emmer's campaign for Minnesota governor. Emmer has connections to anti-gay groups. This donation, clearly acceptible under the new Citizens United Supreme Court ruling angered many in the state, seeing this as a $150,000 contribution to fund ant[i]-gay politics. One Eden Prairie mom and grandmother took her anger directly to a Target. Her repeated attempts to get to Target executives failed so she took her Target Charge Card. A $226 purchase on that card was immediately returned for credit and she scissored her Target card into little pieces to be used no more.

ITL in real life (or WOW life) thread

From ITL 197:

Kim plays World of Warcraft, and she has a character named after someone from "In This Land." She got curious and looked up other ITL names among other WOW characters, and guess what? Other people are out there naming WOW folks after ITL folks!

Apparently some of the ITL names are common enough letter configurations that there are a bunch of Desins and Rinis and Selorins out there. So we have no idea if any of them are named after ITL or not.

But there are three Anosukinoms and one...

Drewsome slice

Okay, so here's that thing I owe Brenhamella.

This is what we call a Drewsome slice. The Drewsome is a threesome (Nick/Drew/Brian) from "Living." A "Slice of Life" is one of the short stories set in the "Living" universe. "Living" itself was popularly considered my GRANDEST MASTERPIECE before ITL and "Sucker."

If I don't add this to the site in the next few days, please remind me. Thanks.

Please enjoy.

I apologize for the wait. ITL will be updated today (Saturday).

Wait a second

Wait, wait. Dude. How many of you quote "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" on your LiveJournal profiles? I don't mean at random in some LiveJournal post; I mean as a fixed part of your profile. Because I've found two of you so far, and I don't have that many LiveJournal friends, statistically speaking.

Do y'all know each other? Or is this coincidental?

Boy bands are serious business

So one of my fandoms is going through A Major Implosion. Not as bad as the September 2009 implosion, and not nearly as bad as the February 2010 implosion, but This Could Be the End of Fandom As We Know It, anyway. Depending on how things go. I was actually recruited to join the writing team for one of the fansites (to write articles, not slash, sorry) and I had to back out because everything is going badly. WE ARE IN A HANDBASKET.

(Come on, it was never going to work out, anyway. Like I h...

Regrouping

Have you ever found yourself preferring a band after a line-up change? When they drop a member or bring in a new singer or get a new bassist?

Or are you a purist, and the original group is always the best?

Ugh

Have you ever hated a television show so much that you wanted to open a blog just to rant about it?

Friday

Heh. That was fun. Or, what's that other word? Not fun, but...nerve-wracking?

I just fell asleep at my desk and deleted eight pages of today's ITL update. Yay! Fortunately, I recovered it, but, yeah, that was a few minutes of FUN.

Wednesday

I've been working on someone's election campaign for the past few months. And last night, the person lost. And I feel like $%&^@. I feel guilty, and I keep thinking of things that I could've done, ways I could've tried harder. It's preying on me.

But just because I feel terrible, doesn't mean everyone else should, too.
