Watershed's Title

July 30th, 2013

I rarely post in between my Sundae With Nuts blog for many reasons but mostly so each author has as much as exposure as possible on the site, and because I have very little (actually non-existent) time! But there have been loads of queries as to how I got the title for Watershed. And it's important right now as I am on the cusp of changing the title of the second book in the series.

It was mutually decided between my editor and myself that we would shift away from the more literary thematic titles to a more straight-forward romance genre title. I am torn, because in one way I feel like I shouldn't have to conform, but in another way I am realistic. I want to make it as a romance author, and that means sales.

Perhaps when I sell my first movie rights, I'll be able to go back to my roots as a writer. LOL

So here is what I posted on FB, where you will also find the new second title released when it is confirmed by editor and publisher!

Watershed's TitleMany are wondering on the title of WATERSHED. Straight out of Miriam Webster, this is the easiest way for me to explain how I got the title, as both definitions are relevant!

1 : a region or area bounded peripherally by a divide and draining ultimately to a particular watercourse or body of water
2 : a crucial dividing point, line, or factor : TURNING POINT

Anyone Indigo Girls fans out there? In their song Watershed, they sing: "Up on the watershed, standing at the fork in the road." They are talking about that turning point where your life is never the same again.

So there ya are! Unfortunately, the next book in the series won't have such a literary title, found out they don't do so well in the romance genre. A pity!

Sundae With Nuts - Jennifer Lowery

July 28th, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Jennifer Lowery!
Sundae with the Nut Jennifer Lowery1.Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather?Uh oh, I don’t wear any.2.What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky? (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda)I guess it’s not so much a language that gets me frisky, but an accent. Put me in a room with a Scottish or Irish guy and I’m toast, lol. Those accents get me every time!
3.Do you believe in love at first sight?Yep! It’s one of those unexplained wonders that drives many of my happily ever after’s :-)
4.If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be?Scrabble. I think you could spell some very sexy words :-)  In my WIP my hero/heroine actually played a game of Scrabble that turned very sensual!
5.I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love? Why Can’t This Be Love by Van Halen
6.Most romantic or sexiest destination out there.Ireland.
7.Who was your first crush or kiss?My first Hollywood crush was Jan-Michael Vincent in the movie Defiance. I know, lol! Shows my age! Back then we didn’t have internet so I wrote the TV Guide expressing my love of Jan-Michael and they were so awesome they sent me a fan pack with a signed photo of him along with a fan letter and some other info from him! I was over the moon! Looking back, that was over the top for whoever in the office at the TV Guide did that for a small town pre-teen.
8.If you become a best-selling author and sell your movie rights, what will be the first thing you do when you hear? Other than contact Cd Brennan and offer to share with her, of course.LOL! How awesome would that be! As with every contract I’ve signed with my books I would go out and buy a celebration cake to share with my family. Then I would book a trip to Ireland, lol.
9.I wanted to be a helicopter pilot and a cowgirl when I grew up (still do). What did you want to grow up to be when you were a little girl?A writer :-)
And last but not least.
10.Favorite ice cream flavor.Mint Chocolate Chip.
Thank you for having me today, Cd!! I just want to send out a big THANK YOU to all my readers out there! Without you I wouldn’t be here. My wish is to one day meet each and every one of you so I can personally thank you for your generosity and support! All my best, Jennifer
* * * *
It is my pleasure Jennifer! I'm with you on all things Irish, including their accents. Having lived there for 7 years, a bit of  my heart still remains. I'll get back there one day soon and I hope you do too. I had to look up Jan-Michael Vincent - I was like WTH? But he was a hottie!

And my favorite this week was Jennifer's honesty in regards to question #1. I applaud her! Of course, I don't know that I could ever do that myself. There were a couple times when I was camping that I had to go knickerless out of necessity. I had worn them well past inside-outside, inside-outside. :-)

I am a big fan of Jennifer's and her blog, Romance Recipes, which I don't get to visit half as much as I would like. I'm not sure if I am envious or in awe of those lovelies out there that can write AND cook. It's on my bucket list!

Take a minute to check out HARD CORE, you'll be glad you did!

The Nuttier Sequel - Liza O'Conner

July 21st, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Today is a bit different in that I have the lovely and talented Liza O'Conner with me again - thus THE NUTTIER SEQUEL. Liza has invited her hero and heroine from Worst Week Ever to answer the Nutty questions. So sit back and enjoy another side of NUTS. I love what Liza has done with this! I am sure you will too.
Sundae with the Nuts Trent & CarrieLiza: Since I recently was on CD's Nutty Blog--CD: It's called Sundae with NutsLiza: That's what I said. Anyway, I've spoken to the research scientists and they fear exposure to more of my wacky responses this soon after could cause permanent brain damage...to you and your followers.CD: That's not good. Liza: So I've decided my main characters from Worst Week Ever will come and answer your questions instead of me.CD: I don't know..Liza: You said I could deviate a bit, well consider this a life-saving deviation.CD: I did say that. Note to self: No deviations allowed for Liza in the future.

Sundae with Nuts: Carrie Hanson and her billionaire boss Trent Lancaster1. Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr..leather?Carrie: Cotton.Trent: Really? I would mostly willingly buy you nicer lingerie. Maybe this hot little red Victorian Secret number boasting 300 rubies. It's valued at $25 million. However, you probably shouldn't wear it to work.Carrie: Because sitting on fifty rubies would hurt?Trent: I was worried about you being carried off in a jewelry heist, but you're right, sitting on rubies sounds painful. Carrie: You cannot buy me lingerie. That isn't appropriate for a boss to buy his Executive Assistant. Will you just answer the question  for yourself so we can move on.Trent: I wear silk boxers, hand crafted by the finest tailor in Italy. They come with a 12 carat gold button.
2. Who is your fantasy male or female?Trent: I'll answer that. My fantasy female is a beautiful, petite young woman who is incredibly smart and resourceful. She is the sun that revolves around me, keeping my world sunny and pleasant.Carrie: My fantasy is of boss who never yells and always encourages team work and high morale amongst his workers. Trent: I'm not your fantasy?Carrie: It's the future you. You are improving all the time.
3. What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky?Trent: Pretty much any language if it translates on my electronic translator as 'My place or yours.'Carrie: Spanish. Everything sounds like a love song in Spanish.Trent: I'll buy you a translator so you can know for certain.
4.Do you believe in love at first sight?Carrie: No.Trent: Yes, I fell in love with Carrie the first day I interviewed her.Carrie: You did not. In fact, you threatened to fire me on a daily basis the first six months I worked for you.Trent: I threaten to fire everyone on a daily basis. But with you I stopped.Carrie: Until this horrible week from hell. You've fired me twice now in two days.Trent: I did not. You simply misunderstood me.
5. No fighting guys. Last question, Favorite Ice Cream?Trent: I got this one. Serendipity 3 has a Frozen Haute Chocolate sundae that has a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic cocoas from around the world. It is also infused with 5 grams of edible 23 karat gold and served in a goblet lined with even more edible gold. At the base lies an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds. The sundae is topped with whipped cream covered with more gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschidt Chocolatier (which sells for $2600 a pound). It is served with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds.Carrie:  That's insane! An ice cream sundae should not cost more than a car!Trent: Now who's being silly. My car cost over a million. This sundae is a mere pittance in comparison to my car.

Notes from Liza:
* The $15M Ruby Lingerie really exists. Check it out here
* Sundae really exists! Check it out here****Liza, I so enjoyed this! A great idea to have your characters answer the Nutty questions. I may open this up to other authors as well. What do you think? Very creative, our Miss Liza, so you can imagine her stories are just as clever and enjoyable!
Now that Trent and Carrie are officially NUTS, they are practically friends! Do have a read of Liza's latest release WORST WEEK EVER, and see what Trent and Carrie are up to. Available now on AMAZON

Sundae With Nuts - Lynn Cahoon

July 14th, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Lynn Cahoon!
Sundae with the Nut Lynn Cahoon1. Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather? Cotton. But I do have this one outfit… Long story…
2. Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both? Kid Rock. Or Tim McGraw IF he keeps on the hat.3. What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky? (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda) I guess this isn’t my trigger point because I can’t think of anything.
4. What vehicle, abode, beach, construction site or other locale did you lose your virginity. 69 GTO. I loved that car.
5. Do you believe in love at first sight? Most definitely.
6. If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be? I think I’m not as adventuresome as some of your nuts. All my board games involve thinking, and I don’t want to think.  LOL
7. Any special “toys” you’d like to give mention to for their outstanding achievements? ***Blushes***
8. I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love? Barry Manalow – Or Bee Gees. How deep is your love?
9. Who was your first crush or kiss? Kirk – Loved that kid. Bad boy to the bone.
10. If you become a best-selling author and sell your movie rights, what will be the first thing you do when you hear? Other than contact Cd Brennan and offer to share with her, of course. Go back to school.  And travel.
And last but now least.
11. Favorite ice cream flavor.Vanilla.  Plain, good vanilla.

Thanks for being a Nut, Miss Lynn! I love how the combination of questions can really bring out the spirit in someone. For example, Miss Lynn - you blush at the mention of sex toys, you like Vanilla and Barry Manalow, but yet your first crush was a bad boy and you lost your V in a 69 GTO.  How effin' cool is that?? I know I shouldn't belittle such a precious moment  -- but hot damn! And I snickered when you said how much you loved the car, but the fella - where is he? :-) Oh, and what color GTO please?

So perhaps a little bit country, a little bit rock-n-roll is our Miss Lynn. Such a pleasure to have her here today. I'm really looking forward to reading her latest release, RETURN OF THE FAE. I love those cheeky fairies.

Sundae With Nuts - Brynna Curry

July 7th, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Brynna Curry!
Sundae with the Nut Brynna Curry1. Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather? Cotton and I’ll leave it at that. I’m a practical kind of girl.
2. Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both? I can’t think of a fantasy guy or any guy I’d just die to meet. I don’t really obsess over the movie/rock star set. I’ve been with my guy since he was fifteen and I was sixteen, so I guess it’s really hard to picture anyone but him.
3. What vehicle, abode, beach, construction site or other locale did you lose your virginity?Aww, y’all, I just can’t answer this one, it’s a secret between me and my guy. Twenty year old secrets deserve to stay that way. I will say it was very sweet and every year, even if he forgets the wedding anniversary, he always remembers that special one.
4. Do you believe in love at first sight? Absolutely. I fall in love with every piece of cheesecake I see. Lol. Sorry. Seriously, I think there is someone special out there for everyone. When you meet, you know. *smiles*
5. If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be? *snickers* There’s supposed to be time for board games? Lol
6. If you become a best-selling author and sell your movie rights, what will be the first thing you do when you hear? Other than contact Cd Brennan and offer to share with her, of course. Pay off all our debts, put the rest in the bank and get back to work! Unless it was like a billion dollars then I might actually take a real vacation for once…and then go to work. There’s that practical side again. I love my day job. I work for wonderful people and I would be bored just lazing about enjoying a pile of money and twiddling my thumbs all day.  I’d splurge and buy either a new Dodge Challenger in gun metal or a Chevrolet Camaro in black (got a thing for muscle cars) and then I’d buy Jackie and the kids a car of their choice…within reason of course.
7. I wanted to be a helicopter pilot and a cowgirl when I grew up (still do). What did you want to grow up to be when you were a little girl? I wanted to be a stage actress and a writer. When I was sixteen, I was dead set on moving to New York after I graduated high school. I was convinced (ah, the blindness of youth) that I would be mega famous within months of my arrival in the big apple. I opted for a different life course and the stage thing didn’t happen. I still haven’t gotten to go to NY, not even for a visit, but two of my kids have.  Now I know I would miss all the trees of my Alabama home too much to ever live in the city.
And last but not least
8. Favorite ice cream flavor. Salted Caramel Truffle

Thanks for being a Nut, Miss Brynna! First, I am always moved when I hear that my colleagues are still together and in love with their high school sweethearts. I met my husband when I was 33 so I can't even imagine the difference from when I was 15 and later in life at 33. But I still admire them, greatly, because lots of years takes lots of compassion and compromise and selflessness and love to stay together. I've only been with my hubby 8 years and I see our dedication to our family daily. So impressed am I!

And girl, I am with you when you can't name a fantasy male. I haven't a clue either, but I have to say I am being very educated in the realm of sexy males from my guest Nuts, because they have some pretty damn good ones!

OH, and love muscle cars, too. Me? 69 Mustang - straight up.(Wait, is that a muscle car?)

Miss Brynna is a selfless blogger and promoter of other authors and I would love for you to stop by and say howdy to her.

Sundae With Nuts - Rie Warren

June 30th, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Rie Warren!
Sundae with the Nut Rie Warren1. Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather?
Knickers, how cute! I’m a writer of steamy romance so of course lace and silk and other barely there fabrics, of course.

2. Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both?
Okay, I’m just gonna say it. It’s not even a secret anymore. Everyone knows. David ‘Eye Candy’ Gandy. (or whoever else I’ve been heavily ‘researching’ on google/pinterest/tumblr…)

3. What language, when heard spoken, makes you horny. (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda)
Elvish spoken by Aragorn…you know that scene when he’s whispering to Arwen, gazing at her so intently. Totally dreamy, plus he’s not bad on the eye either. Oh look, he’s another fantasy male!

4. What vehicle, abode, beach, construction site or other locale did you lose your virginity.
Vehicle? What do you take me for? Ahhh, beaches, so pretty, so…gritty. Oops, I didn’t answer the question, did I?

5. Do you believe in love at first sight?
That all depends on whether I’m wearing my contacts or not.

6. If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be?
Dirty Scrabble! Or Jenga (don’t ask)

7. Any special “toys” you’d like to give mention to for their outstanding achievements?
I think the Rabbit should get the Lifetime Achievement Award for making women everywhere happy. *grins*

8. I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love?
Astral Weeks, Van Morrison, gorgeous song.

9. Most romantic or sexiest destination out there.
My bedroom. Kidding!

And last but now least.

10. Favorite ice cream flavor.
I love black raspberry. It brings back so many awesome childhood memories

Thanks for being a Nut, Miss Rie! You have so many juicy ones I can pass judgement, I mean, comment on (that's a LOL by the way), where do I start?

Okay, first, I loved your answer to #5 and LMAO. I totally agree with you on Elvish and Aragorn. I am a big fantasy fan and that was such a romantic scene. I wouldn't have thought Peter Jackson had it in him, but brilliant. And I am also a huge fan of Van Morrison, and feel a bit like a plonker with my Peter Cetera (but still love ya Pete!). Your answer for #9 is very cheeky and BOLD! But maybe 'cause I'm jealous. My young wee sons have just been out of our bed for little over a month - now, to get rid of the dog...

And how can you tell me NOT to ask about Jenga, because you know I WILL! Give us a clue at least, Miss Rie :-)

Please applaud our lovely Lyrical sister and a great supporter herself - Rie Warren. SUGAR DADDY looks saucy!

Sundae With Nuts - Gemma Brocato

June 23rd, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Gemma Brocato!
Sundae with the Nut Gemma Brocato1.Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather? I did own a pair of knickers once as a pre-teen – they were lovely purple corduroy and I felt very grown-up. Oh, you were asking about undies. I was talking about something you might golf in.
2.Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both? Ragnar Lothbrook – of The History Channel’s Vikings. Now there is a man who successfully combines hot, impish and mischievous. Plus, I dig a man with a ponytail.
3.What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky. (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda) Does Klingon count?!? (What can I say—I’m a secret Trekkie.) Honestly I’d say an upper-class English accent does it for me.
4.What vehicle, abode, beach, construction site or other locale did you lose your virginity? Let’s just say it was memorable.
5.Do you believe in love at first sight? I believe that when you suddenly see your best friend through love goggles and he takes your breath away, that’s kind of like at first sight.
6.If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be? Charades – you play that with your hands, don’t you?
7.Any special “toys” you’d like to give mention to for their outstanding achievements? I have my eye on a new laptop, but I don’t think that’s the kind of toy you are talking about.
8.I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love?Little River Band. Mr. Gemma sang Reminiscing to me during our first dance. My stomach still flips when I hear that song.
9.Most romantic or sexiest destination out there. My ideal vacay would be a cabin by a pond, deep in a lush green forest. Maybe with a mountain rising in the distance and a cool breeze taking the heat out of the day as the sun slants down to the horizon. Sipping a nice glass of Sauv Blanc with Mr. Gemma after a lazy morning and a great afternoon of hiking. Or Vancouver, Canada in April, when the trees are flowering and the petals are falling like pink snow. That is very special.
And last but now least.
10.Favorite ice cream flavor. I’m more of a savory than sweet person. Don’t care that much for ice cream. But if I have it, some amaretto on top makes it amazing.

Thanks for being a Nut, Miss Gemma! And it sounds like you are still very much in love with your husband and I think that's wonderful. THAT gives me stomach flips. Because I love the HEA. I laughed my ass off to your answer for #1, but my favorite? #5 because really--that is super dreamy, and I believe love at first sight, but in a different way. Like you said, all of a sudden something clicks (love goggles)...and they you are, staring love in the face. Did you ever see that 80s film - Some Kind of Wonderful? A trope worthy of so many more romance novels.

And WHAT? You don't like ice cream?? You're lucky I posted this! LOL

Miss Gemma is a lovely Lyrical sister with a debut release, COOKING UP LOVE, so please stop by and share her fun and excitement. The feeling of a debut release is right up there with the "first days".

Sundae With Nuts - Kylie Wolfe

June 16th, 2013

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Kylie Wolfe!
Sundae with the Nut Kylie WolfeFavorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather?  Lace.  Something feminine and sexy.  Leather just sounds –um – uncomfortable.
Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both?  Nathan Fillion – yummo.  I have adored him since I saw the first episode of Firefly and think he is incredible in Castle.  I so want to go play at his house ;-)
What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky. (like Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish called Wanda)  As much as I hate to admit it…give me a southern drawl any day.  Not the back-hills kind, but a deep, educated drawl that just oozes southern charm and hints at dark delights.  Whew, is it warm in here?
What vehicle, abode, beach, construction site or other locale did you lose your virginity.  I feel like such a cliché, but it was in the back seat of my boyfriend’s car *hangs head with embarrassment*.
Do you believe in love at first sight? I want to believe in it.  I haven’t experienced it, but I have hope my HEA is just around the corner.
6.If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be?  Scrabble! Just think of the suggestive and interesting words you could demonstrate –er –use.
I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love?  Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues.
Most romantic or sexiest destination out there.  Give me the Colorado mountains.  Snuggling in front of a roaring fire with a fantastic view of the snow-capped peaks framed by the windows, candle light and a glass of wine - nice.
And last but now least.
Favorite ice cream flavor.  Vanilla Bean.  Add a handful of M&Ms and I am one happy camper  :-)
Thanks for being a Nut, Kylie! Would you say your southern drawl is North Carolina or even further south? I quite fancied this fella I met in grad school from there, and he really worked the "Yes, ma'am." I just loved that he had this difference about him, even when he was a twenty-something, he definitely had manners and charm. Hoo-wee!

And you know what is the best part of this post? That Kylie is still looking for her HEA. Ooohhh, I'm so excited for her! Because, you know what? Nothing beats that feeling. The first days, the butterflies and excitement, the falling in LOVE. It's the addictive quality in romance books that we try to reproduce. But the real thing? It's even better. Kylie, I can't wait for it to happen for you. Can you please take good notes and share them with me? We'll discuss and plan my next book over a glass of wine (with a view of the mountains, of course).

Please pop by and visit Kylie at her Website, the lovely lass that she is. Or follow her on Twitter
Check out her latest release, RAYVEN'S KEEP - a great science fiction romance!
