This Fails To Impress Me
This fails to impress me:
I’m usually one for mixing up foods. However, this one? Not so much. It shouldn’t bug me, just being the same foods in a different way, but I’m either expecting a hot dog or a hamburger when I look at this and whichever I want, I’m going to be disappointed. It just seems like a failed attempt at being clever. Kind of like this post.
Man, am I in a mood this morning.

My Wife Gets The Last Laugh
Remember when I posted about how my wife got me to buy a Christmas Incandescent Tinsel Cat at Target and didn’t bother putting it out on our balcony until after Christmas? Well, she had the last laugh. It’s May and it’s still out there. It’s not plugged in, but it’s still out there. I was just the fool for thinking this was a seasonal thing.
She’s also recently added a plastic light-up cat in a pumpkin Halloween decoration.

I Might Actually Get To Go To 50% Off Book Day Soon
I might actually get to go to 50% off book day soon. I should explain.
Books are obviously a source of contention in my house. They are really the main thing I have. They also take up space, which is at a premium. Left to my own devices, I would expand my books into more than my fair share of the space. As such, limits are occasionally imposed.
For example, my shelf of books waiting to be read is generally kept to an agreed upon single shelf. This is around 20-60 books most times, including electronic ones I’ve gotten for free from one place or another. Given that I read around 200-300 books a year, this should not be a problem. In fact, to keep costs down, I often buy books at Goodwill. My preferred paperbacks (full size, not trade) are only $1 ($2 for hardcover, which I avoid as overly heavy, often less durable, and way more space consuming), and you can often find really decent shape ones there. Further, there are a few Saturdays a month where everything is 50% off, making my books 50 cents each. I go through quite a lot that way, using this as an excuse to read a lot of books I wouldn’t normally pick up otherwise.
However, I also noticed in recent years that I was reading all really short books. I decided to look into some more immense ones I hadn’t yet picked up, making a list. Because I made a list and I have a thing about checking items off lists, I bought them all. This meant my to read shelf was way, way over a single shelf. Also, it took much longer to get that shelf to go down.
My wife put her foot down.
As a result, I haven’t been to 50% off day for a while. There simply hasn’t been space for new books. However, I’ve been working at this steadily and should be down to an un-full single shelf in around a week. Then I can go to 50% off book day again. Next one is May 18. Can I make it?

What Precisely Are They Hoping Happens Here?
I love seeing an animated gif that baffles me as to the context. I mean, what were they hoping happens here? Someone made this for a reason. I just have no idea what it is.
I’m sure I could go looking, but that would spoil it.
