RIP Dear Kindle

So, my Kindle died over the weekend. I believe I owned what was considered a 2nd generation Kindle. It was what is known today as a paperwhite, because the screen looks just like you’re reading a paperback book. No fancy touch screen. No color. Just me, the black and white page, a glass of wine, and a bathtub filled with water and bubbles. At least that’s the setting I’ll always remember my dear Kindle in.

I loved my kindle because of it’s age. I could have dropped it in the tub (I didn’t BTW)...

WELCOME TO MY NEW WEBSITE!

Things look a bit different around here, don’t ya think? I am so thrilled to welcome you to my new digs.

So, why the new website?

I also wanted the front page of my website to be a clear indication of what’s going on in my little corner of the world.

For...

What To Do When You Have a Major Naysayer in Your Life

Knowing what you want by Ferran

After postingthe blogpost titled, “Can You Make a Career Change Without Family Support,” a reader messaged me the following question:

I read your blog post – thank-you! I have a question for you, as one who has switched careers. What kind of advice would you give someone (like me) who has the dream of another career, but absolutely no support from her spouse? I’m having a hard time keeping my dream alive, in my heart, because it seems I wo...

Good news! I’ve opened an online store. You can now purchase signed copies of all three books in the Mindspeak trilogy directly from me. Yay!!

I’m brainstorming about other merchandiseto add to this store besides just books. I will, of course, let you know as I add new products. For now, think of all the people in your life who NEED the Mindspeak trilogy on their bookshelf. Christmas and other holidays are coming! Birthdays? A special treat for that special teen in your life?

Kyle’s Story: A 4th Mindspeak novel, sort of.

Happy Thursday! We are TWENTY DAYS away from the official launch of MINDSURGE, the final book in the Mindspeak trilogy, and I couldn’t be more excited.I’m putting final touches on the manuscript this week: typo corrections, formatting, a note from me at the end, acknowledgements, etc.

So, why am I talking about characters for a fourth novel when I’ve clearly stated that Mindsurge is the end of the trilogy? Because I love you guys, of course! And because I have another story speaking to me. As...

It’s the heartacheof not knowing how you can possibly continue to work the job that is paying bills AND keep pursuing your dream job.But you know in your head, in you heart, and in your eyes—eyes that won’t stay open because you’ve started sleeping only four hours a night in order to fit your dream job around the hours of your day job and family life—that something’s gotta give.
