How does Mia Brox make money online?

Mia Brox is the founder and owner of She Dreams All Day, a lifestyle and business blog dedicated to introverts.

As she explains in the November 2021 video below, Mia makes most of her revenue through passive income. 

She lists 4 sources of income: affiliate marketing, display ads, selling her online courses Dreamer To Blogger (blogging course for introverts) and The Dreamer To Doer Academy (personal development course for introverts), and membership subscriptions to her community.

Even though I get recurring revenue from the membership program, it is not quite passive income. I put a lot of hard work into it every month. I create new masterclasses, host goal-setting workshops, and show up for my members every day inside our private Facebook group.

How did Mia Brox get started?

One late August evening back in 2018, Mia was browsing the web and hanging out on Pinterest. She was inspired by all the pins of people making money online, so she decided to give it a go.

The first year she invested in a course on how to start a blog, learned about blogging, and worked on her mindset. Then in 2019, she took her first actions toward monetizing her blog, and by 2020 she had a well-defined audience and blogging niche. 

I didn’t start blogging about introverts and their mindset. I started blogging about literally everything, even personal finance which in hindsight wasn’t a good idea. At that time I wasn’t clear on who I was speaking to and creating content for, which is key if you want to be successful. 

How did Mia Brox get to where she is now?

Mia talked about her journey to earning $10,000/month on an Instagram reel. 

Although Mia launched her blog in August 2018, she didn’t start to see any income until May 2019. At the time, her blog received about 4,000 visitors a day and she built her email list to 3,000 subscribers. However, she had no clear idea of how to monetize it.

The pivoting moment was when I launched my first eBook. The first purchase of $47 was so exhilarating for me. I thought that if I could sell my eBook, I could do anything.

As an extension to the eBook, Mia then created her first online course “Dreamer to Doer”.

By the end of 2019, she also got accepted into Mediavine. That meant she could monetize her blog and earn money from display ads. In 2019 she was making around $500 per month. 

What I would tell you right now is to learn, implement and go one monetization strategy at a time, especially when you’re just starting out. I started out with affiliate marketing which I recommend for new bloggers. It’s a great way to get to know your audience better and to create a product they actually want.

In 2020 Mia had a baby, so she wasn’t focused on her blogging. However, her blog was making between $2,000 and $3,000 per month, most of it through passive income.

The biggest change came when Mia started working with a coach in September 2021. Taking her coach’s advice, Mia decided to stop hiding and put herself out there. She changed her Instagram handle to Mia Brox and started sharing more with her audience.

Thanks to a stronger online presence, Mia started seeing an increase in her course subscriptions, and consequently her income. By the end of 2021, she hit her target of $8,333.33/month (aka a six-figure business).

I didn’t have a project management system when I first started. I used a very messy Google Drive folder for that. Looking back, I wish I had ClickUp. I have fallen head over heels in love with it. I’ve actually created a whole entire course all about ClickUp, that’s how obsessed I am.

She usually earns “$12K to $18K each month” but October was her lowest earning month for a long time at $10K.

She stayed in touch with past clients, regularly letting them know when she was available for more work.“I repeatedly told clients in my messages that I loved short turnarounds and was available for last-minute projects.”She reached out to writer friends and asked for referrals.She checked who viewed her LinkedIn profile and reached out to them.“Put your website and LinkedIn in your email signature.”

She adds…

It’s not a single marketing act that made my $27K month possible, but the combination of all of my outreach and persistence. One tactic or type of outreach simply isn’t going to cut it. But when you “do all the things” then things can turn around pretty quickly.

Josh Ellwood started it in February 2020, and it has since grown to 67,000+ subscribers [image error]

In a recent interview, Josh broke down how he earns money from his channel…

I make over $80,000/yr from ad revenue generated from my YouTube videos. The majority of my monthly income comes from video tutorials that I created over a year ago! […] My Patreon, Fiverr, affiliate marketing, and brand deals produce another $102k/yr on top of this.

Josh mainly makes videos about Amazon FBA and side hustles, averaging one video per week.

He uses the higher tiers on his Patreon ($50 to $149 per month) as a form of mentorship, and his FBA product research gig on Fiverr seems to be quite popular.

Josh is a great example of someone who has a medium-sized YouTube channel but monetizes it in multiple ways to earn a great income [image error]

You might find it encouraging to check out his first video, which is quite basic with poor sound quality. 

But hey, you gotta start somewhere.

Back in September, Simon Hoiberg pre-launched a link engagement tool called LinkDrip [image error]

He outlines here how the tool earned more than $75,000 in revenue “before I started building it.”

Simon mainly achieved that by leveraging an existing audience: 18,000+ users of a social media management tool he’d previously built.

Maybe you don’t have a successful business you can leverage to launch another one, but Simon’s story underscores the value of building an audience.

He writes…

Start sharing value and create an audience before pre-launching your product. It doesn’t have to take long. Spent a few hours/week creating valuable content and schedule it to post on various social media platforms.

Engage with your users and use these conversations to narrow in on the pain points your users are having. This will help you tremendously with angling your launch correctly.

The opposite approach is to spend months building a product and then trying to build an audience from scratch during your launch. That’s unlikely to go well.

Her name is Anne Moss and she publishes progress reports each month over at yeys.com.

As she wrote in a recent report…

My husband and I own a portfolio of more than 25 content sites, monetized mostly with display ads. Our web publishing business makes over $180K in monthly revenue.

To avoid copycats, Anne doesn’t reveal any of those sites, but shares numbers on four of them each month. She focuses on niches like Pets [image error] and Home & DIY [image error]

Her basic strategy is to find suitable topics to blog about, create “good enough” content, and – perhaps most importantly – “scale by using effective SOPs, workflows, and routines.”

Anne has been in the blogging game for years. She wrote back in 2016…

…I’m not making that much money. My sites make as much, as it happens, but my actual profits only hit the 5-figure range (upper, I’m happy to say) on an annual basis.

Looks like she then went from about $12K/month to $100K/month in less than two years [image error]

I think the key to her success can be found in a post she wrote in January 2019…

Before I tell you some more about the new websites, let me tell you about the more important change I made in 2018.

I learned to outsource.

As a result…

I moved from producing an average of 10K words a month to over 100K. Which roughly translates into 60 new posts per month, across the board.

How does The Course on Website Flipping help you make money?

Mushfiq’s course aims to teach you how to flip websites.

The idea of website flipping, similar to real estate flipping, is to purchase an income-producing website, make some improvements, and then sell (ie. flip) to someone else for a profit.

Mushfiq’s course sells itself as a platform for website flippers from all walks of life.

The official word…

This course is both for beginners and experts.

For beginners, the course will walk you through the beginning concepts all the way to executing the sale of your site. You will learn the terminology, where to find sites to buy, how to do due diligence and valuations, and how to position your website for sale.

For experts, this course can act as a standardized framework for you to systematically build a portfolio of website flips.

In addition, both beginners and experts will find immense value in the live due diligence and teardown videos of real sites included with the course.

Having looked into the training, I found this description satisfactory, but I still think it’s more suitable for people with some experience running income-producing websites.

I say that because the course doesn’t teach some fundamental concepts related to things like  SEO or web design. It assumes you already have knowledge in those areas.

70+ ways how to make money online (including easy options)Does Mushfiq Sarker have a good reputation?

Yes.

During my research of Mushfiq Sarker and The Course on Website Flipping, I did not find any criticism for the training and its creator.

One of the most prolific website flippers out there, Mushfiq has been selling websites since 2008. He claims to have sold more than 200 websites, some of them for six figures. And I have no reason to doubt those numbers.

Mushfiq now passes his knowledge on to other website flippers via his courses and due diligence services.

So yeah, Mushfiq is as legit as they come.

Are Mushfiq Sarker’s students getting results?

It’s hard to tell.

You’ll find lots of praise for Mushfiq online, but I found few testimonials that speak to tangible results achieved from following his advice.

Unfortunately, nearly all TCOWF success stories seem to offer generic praise rather than speak to the results achieved from following the training.

I found the reviews for Mushfiq’s site breakdown services to be more insightful. People claim that Mushfiq’s advice there has helped save them a lot of money.

That said, what The Course on Website Flipping teaches is solid. I assume we’ll see more students reporting tangible results in due time.

How much does The Course on Website Flipping cost?

For access to The Course on Website Flipping, there are two options:

$590 one-time3 monthly payments of $230

The latter adds up to a total price of $690.

You get lifetime access with either option.

Keep in mind that you’ll likely need plenty more money to follow the training, mainly so you can buy and improve a website before flipping it.

The Course on Website Flipping Discount?

I did find a discount for The Course on Website Flipping on its checkout page.

It looks like the discount code COURSEOFF is applied automatically at checkout, giving you $100 off the one-time payment option. So you end up paying just $490 for access that way.

Refund Policy

The sales page for The Course on Website Flipping specifies a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee…

Mushfiq told me via email that the refund period is unlimited, meaning you can request a refund whenever. (This is rare!)

I haven’t seen anyone reporting issues getting a refund on their purchase, so you can rest easy with this guarantee.

How is The Course on Website Flipping structured?

Here’s what the course looks like once you log in and open one of the lessons…

The core training is broken up into 8 main modules which have more than 50 lessons. Nearly all of them are in video format and have a total runtime of 6+ hours.

There is no search function within The Course on Website Flipping, but I still found it easy to navigate. The modules are well organized, and most lessons are broken up into 15-minute chunks.

I found the course very comprehensive. Not only does it go through the nuts and bolts of website flipping, it also offers examples of past sales and Mushfiq’s analysisx of websites that were up for sale. (This is the real gold, IMO.)

The Course on Website Flipping comes with a variety of bonuses. These include various templates, spreadsheets, site teardowns, due diligence reviews, and discounts for Mushfiq’s other courses. He also told me via email that he adds/updates the course material regularly, usually making some change or improvement at least once a month.

There is no dedicated private community for students, but there is a private Facebook group that any of Mushfiq’s followers can request access to. That’s a good place to hang out if you have questions or comments about website flipping, though it’s not super-active…

From what I’ve seen, the vast majority of people who buy this course end up happy with their purchase.

It seems to be a solid investment if you’re committed to building a website flipping business, but ideally you’d have some experience with topics like SEO and web design before diving in.

Just be aware that success with such training usually requires a significant amount of time and effort, especially if you’re new to site flipping.
