For all those who've asked what's happening with Sean from Learning to Love...

Yes, it's out in late August.
The final chapter.
And fittingly, it's called Final Exam.
As a tease, here's the blurb...

One house, three couples, and one year left until their final exams….

Evan and Daniel want to take their D/s relationship to the next level. When Daniel suggests conducting a little research at a BDSM club, Evan is more than up for it. Trouble is, one of their housemates isn’t happy about this.

Finances tighten for new couple Josh and Chris. Wanting to ease some of the pressure on Chris, Josh starts as an agency nurse. But tackling a heavy workload at medical school and working late-shifts leaves little time for the couple. Something’s gotta give.

In Spain, Sean was diagnosed as suffering from migraines. But after the medications have no effect and he starts suffering from other complaints, he decides to get a second opinion without telling Michael. When Michael finds out, Sean's usually laid-back husband's reaction shocks everyone. But Michael needs to get his head sorted fast, because Sean needs his strength.

As their school career comes to a close and the one person who holds them all together starts to fall apart, the final exam is a true test of friendship.

Love Lessons Learned - Or...how a spin-off suddenly developed into more....

When I was writing Learning to Love Evan and Daniel, there was a scene where Evan's brother John decided to 'experiment' a little by kissing Daniel.
For some reason, John wouldn't get out of my head.
"Oh dear", I thought, "I know this feeling..."
Yep. Another idea for a book.
And so was born the spin-off, Love Lessons Learned, where we get to see what happens when John finally makes up his mind that he's gay. Trust me, this boy doesn't do things by halves...
Except it didn't end there.
John goes to live in a shared house with Stu, Martin and Alec, three young men who are all gay, and all of them single. Martin is an assistant manager of a menswear store, Stu is a flight attendant with Virgin and Alec is a paramedic.
And once I started writing the book, they started talking to me. LOUDLY.
So by the time I was halfway through, I knew there was going to be a Love Lessons Learned series.
The one who spoke loudest was Stu. The boy is a slut - a self-confessed slut, true, but also a young man with a past.
A young man who has been so hurt that he simply won't let himself get close to any man. And he gets to tell his story first.
So now you have an idea of what's coming. And when you get to meet these boys, you'll know why I couldn't ignore them any longer.
One of these days I really need to tell these voices what to go do with themselves - I have a head full of book ideas already!
(Yeah, you already know that ain't gonna happen!)

Love Lessons Learned is out April 14th from Dreamspinner Press

Personal Secrets is on its way!

At last!
I've just finished the final book in the Personal series, that began with Making It Personal.
Personal Secrets will be out on February 14th.
(Before I go any further? A question I get asked a lot recently is in what order to read the series... so just for those who asked....)
Making it Personal #1
Personal Changes #2
More than Personal #2.5
Personal Secrets #3

And what's it about? I thought you'd never ask...

Blake Davis and husband Will are delighted when Ed Fellows turns up at the hospital the night their daughter is born—even if he is covered in mud from playing rugby and drunk out of his skull. Team-mate Colin is the Good Samaritan who drives him there, and when Colin takes Ed home, Colin finds himself on the receiving end of a blow-job. He has no problem with that whatsoever. He’s been in lust with Ed since Ed joined the rugby team some fourteen months ago. Only thing is, Colin’s assumed up ’til now that Ed is straight. Except the man sucking him off certainly didn’t seem straight….

Talk about the morning after the night before…. Ed awakens to find a nearly-naked Colin asleep on his sofa. The problem is that for some reason, he can’t get Colin out of his mind. Okay, so it wasn’t the first blow-job Ed’s ever gotten from a guy—or given, for that matter—but that was a long time ago, right? And why does Ed now want more?

With friends Rick, Angelo, Blake and Will to advise him, Ed finds himself on a completely unfamiliar road, as he struggles to accept that maybe the line he is walking isn’t as straight as he’d first imagined….

I've really enjoyed writing this one, and Ed has quickly become one of my favorite characters.
Hope you like his story...

What a Year!

Well, it's nearly goodbye to my first full year as a writer. And what a year it's been.
When 2013 started, I had one book out with Dreamspinner Press, and two more due out in March and June. There followed a contract for An Unlocked Heart...and then the ground disappeared from under me.
I'm not going to go into details.
Let's just say I left behind my teaching career of twenty-three years, took one hell of a big breath - and became a full-time writer.
And the writing just...took off.
When the end of November arrived, I did a post on Facebook to mark one year since my first book came out. I put all my book covers on it - and then had a shock when they were all there, all eleven of them, in one place.
Wow.
I had a very good year.
2013 brought other things, too - namely, some absolutely fantastic friends.
There are now so many people on FB who drop by to comment on an almost daily basis. I love it!
Then there are the people who got under my skin - and into my heart.
Anyone who sees my posts on FB won't be surprised at the first name - Will Parkinson, my 'adopted' brother. This was the year of his first book release, Pitch, and also the year where we started writing together. Someone to Keep Me comes out on Jan 10th. You're gonna love what happens next!
Then came Max Vos, another friend with whom I talk every day - once he's had his coffee, that is! Another wonderful writer, one with whom I work closely as he self-publishes his stories. I LOVED My Hero - which is now available in French! This has been a great year for Max and Will - or should I say, Parker Williams?
Becky Condit just crept in there and became part of my life.
And toward the end of the year, I found myself a writing buddy, Kol Anderson, who is also a fantastic writer. His latest book, Heart.... whoa.
And right at the end of the year, I created my first paperbacks and had one of my favorite books translated into French, bringing with it two lovely ladies, Bénédicte Girault and Valérie Dubar, not to mention a whole new world of French readers!
So right now, I can't wait for what 2014 brings. Because I'll tell you one thing...
It's going to be exciting.

Any Collars & Cuffs fans out there?

So, not only is Someone to Keep Me due for release in January - Parker Williams and I are chomping at the bit! - I now have news that the next book in the series, A Dance with Domination, is to be released in May / June from Dreamspinner Press!
And to give you an idea of the plot.....

Andrew Barrett is back in the UK after living in the States with his family since he was eleven. He’s got a new job as a copywriter, plus two nights at the weekend as a stripper in a gay strip club. He has also signed up as a member of the BDSM club, Collars & Cuffs, where at the age of twenty-nine, he is their youngest Dom. Young doesn’t mean inexperienced, however. Andrew’s BDSM credentials are very impressive. All this activity has a purpose, allowing Andrew to focus on keeping himself busy, so that he had no time to dwell on the past. But the past has a way of intruding on the present, and some wounds have yet to heal.

It’s been four long years since Gareth Michaels set foot inside Collars & Cuffs. The only thing that tempts him back is the discovery that his fellow dancer Andrew is a Dom. And Gareth wants to get to know Andrew a lot better. But when he finally takes hold of his courage and steps back into his former world, it’s only to find that the man who crushed him all those years ago is still a member and what’s more, he seems to want Gareth back. Not that Gareth has any intention of doing that.

As Andrew’s emotions break free from the prison he’s erected around his heart, Gareth discovers that what he really wants is Andrew. But when he glimpses the reason behind Andrew’s interest in him, he discovers even more about the man who draws him like a moth to a flame.
Two men in pain, both needing to be freed. And it takes another man’s horrific plans to make them see how much they need each other.

Coming Soon...

Personal Changes, the sequel to Making it Personal, by K.C. Wells, will be released toward the end of December.

Rick Wentworth has had enough of one night stands and quickies in clubs. It takes a night of uncharacteristic hedonism to make Rick admit what he really wants - someone to love him. But for that to happen, he needs to make some changes. Rick can do that. After all, what’s the alternative? And when he meets a guy who ticks all his boxes, he can’t believe his luck. His boss Blake Davis, and Blake’s fiancé Will Parkinson, however, aren’t convinced. They want to know more about Mr. Perfect, and their instincts are keener than Rick’s. Both men want to protect him. As it turns out, they needn’t have worried. Rick has a guardian angel…

When Angelo Tarallo sees Rick for the first time, it’s a match made in Heaven, as far as he’s concerned. And when he rescues Rick from danger, it gives him the opportunity to get to know the man who has captivated him. Before long, it’s plain to both men that this could lead somewhere. But when Angelo’s traditional Sicilian family finally discover what he’s been hiding from them for so long, an ultimatum spells heartache for the lovers – and worse.

*Contains a MMM scene*

Seriously Stunned of the UK

My first book was released a year ago, Nov 26th to be exact.
It's been a year of firsts...
My first trip to the US - where I got to meet the Facebook friend who has since become like a brother to me, not to mention my co-author - Will Parkinson And THEN I met Max Vos, who has become a very close friend.
My first conventions - first Authors After Dark in Savannah, and then GayRomLit in Atlanta. GRL was overwhelming. I got to see all these authors who up until that point had been names on my laptop or ereader. And yes, I felt star-struck and more than a little out of my depth.
But this week brought a new first - my first nominations for the 2013 Member Choice Awards.
Why Seriously Stunned?
Because five of my stories turned up in twelve different categories.
You have NO idea what this means to me, and for this reason 2013 is going to stay in my memory for a long, long time.

Favorite All Time MM Author.
Favorite All Time M/M Series - Collars & Cuffs.
Best BDSM (genre) - An Unlocked Heart, Trusting Thomas.
Best Book of the Year - An Unlocked Heart.
Best Cover - An Unlocked Heart.
Best Hurt/Comfort (themes) - An Unlocked Heart.
Best Long Story (250 pages or 100K words) - An Unlocked Heart.
Best Sex Industry (Rent Boy/Escort/Adult Model) - Making It Personal
Best Sex Scene - An Unlocked Heart (Leo and Alex - group room)
Best Slave/Dub Con/Kidnapped (themes) - Trusting Thomas.
Best Title - An Unlocked Heart.
Best Virgin Sex Scene - An Unlocked Heart.
Best Anthology - Fifty Gays of Shade (Winning Will's Heart) and Burning First Kiss (Back from the Edge)

I may not win a single one. But you know what? Nothing is going to take the shine off receiving so many nominations.
'Thank you' doesn't cover it, not by any stretch of the imagination.
But it's all I have right now, so...
To everyone who nominated me... Thank You

COMING AT LAST!!!!

Friday January 10th, 2014...
The long-awaited collaboration of K.C. Wells and Parker Williams (aka Will Parkinson), Someone to Keep Me, is due for release from Dreamspinner Press!
In fact, it's already on their Coming Soon page and you can preorder it now during their sale, $5.24 instead of the $6.99!

Someone to Keep Me is a Collars & Cuffs novel, featuring characters from An Unlocked Heart and Trusting Thomas.

Eighteen-year-old Scott Keating knows a whole world exists beyond his parents’ strict control, but until he gains access to the World Wide Web, he really has no idea what’s out there. In a chat room, Scott meets “JeffUK.” Jeff loves and understands him, and when he offers to bring Scott to the UK, Scott seizes his chance to escape his humdrum life and see the world. But when his plane touches down and Jeff isn’t there, panic sets in.

Collars & Cuffs favorite barman and Dom-in-training, Ben Winters, drops his sister off at the airport and finds a lost, anxious Scott. Hearing Scott’s story sets off alarm bells, along with his protective instincts. Taking pity on the naïve boy, Ben offers him a place to crash and invites him to Collars & Cuffs, hoping his bosses will know how to help. Scott dreams of belonging to someone, heart and soul. Ben longs for a sub of his own. And neither man sees what’s right under his nose.

Gay is IN.. isn't it?

Every time I open a newspaper, turn on the TV or go online, it seems someone famous is coming out.
Yesterday it was Tom Daley.
I watch as more US States accept marriage equality, and yes, I cheer, every freakin' time. More, please. Keep 'em comin'.
I watch on Facebook as the number of groups interested in MM fiction grow. It seems more and more people are reading my genre.
BUT...
I walk into my local branch of Waterstones (bookstore) and you know what? Not one single LGBT book. No, they haven't sold out. There isn't even a shelf set aside for them.
My questions are these:
When will I be able to say that I write gay romantic fiction, or even gay erotic fiction, and not have someone look at me like I've suddenly grown two heads? Don't get me wrong - these days, if someone asks me what I write, I tell them, no hesitation.
When will I be able to walk into a UK bookstore and see my books on the shelf? In the year when 50 Shades of Grey was readily available in supermarkets, is this too much to ask?
Is it asking so much?
I just read through the categories for GR's best books of 2013 - where were the LGBT books? Did I miss them? Were they hidden away in some category somewhere?
What I find really interesting is the winner of the Romance category... This was the one with the M/M plot, right? Well, sort of...
Maybe I'm being impatient. I mean, look how far we've come!
So, until these things come to fruition, I'm going to carry on writing, because I have so many stories inside me, just dying to get out.
2014 is going to be a busy year.
Just so you know...... ;)
