Wednesday February 11th...
Colin looked at his checklist. He had the train tickets, the hotel suite was booked and so was dinner for Saturday night. Blake knew Ed wouldn't be back at work until Tuesday - which was more than Ed knew. Colin couldn't wait to see the look on his lover's face when he saw their suite. That weekend in Brighton, back when they first met, had been pretty special.
This weekend was going to blow it out of the water.
Well, he hoped....
Come by tomorrow for another sneaky peek into Colin's plans for this Valentine's Day weekend!

Tuesday February 10th...
Colin: "So I want to take Ed somewhere a little different on Friday night. I mean, we'll be going to Canal Street, 'cause he's never been there, but I thought you might have some other ideas." (chuckles) "You have been there, right?"
Blake: "Well, now you come to mention it, there's this gay strip club where Will and I went. Great place. I even bought us a lapdance in one of their VIP boxes."
Colin: "US? You both had a lapdance?"
Blake: (laughs) Oh, wow... that was a lot of fun. Yeah, you should definitely take Ed there."
Colin: "Hmmm. He may never recover."
Stop by tomorrow for another sneaky peek!

Monday February 9th...
Colin left his office and walked out of the building, zipping up his leather jacket. He still couldn't believe how cold London was. Of course, the snow might've had something to do with it. He hoped it would be warmer by the weekend, and that Manchester wouldn't be subjected to lots of that rain it was so famous for. Some of his plans would be spoiled if it was raining.
Blake had certainly found him a gem of a hotel. The suite was exquisite, but at £400 a night, it ought to be. At least that was one thing he could cross off his list.
His phone warbled. Colin glanced at the screen and gave an internal groan. Normally he loved hearing from Ed during the course of his day, but not when he was on a mission. "Hey, why aren't you working?"
"Well, that's charmin', I must say." He knew Ed wasn't as pissed off as he was trying to sound. "Whatcha doin'? It doesn't sound like you're in the office."
Colin sighed. Ed had hearing as acute as a shithouse rat. "I had to step out for a bit and deliver some designs," he lied. "I've due there in a few minutes."
"Oh, that's okay, it was nothin' important. I'll catch ya later, yeah?"
"Thanks," Colin said. He hated lying to Ed. "Talk soon." He disconnected the call and round the corner, heading toward the shop.
Now to cross something else off his Valentine's weekend list...
Stop by tomorrow to get another sneak peek into Colin's plans for his surprise Valentine's Day weekend!

I did it!
Phew.
101,766 words and a whole lotta pain later, Collars & Cuffs #6, Make Me Soar, is finished!
This is the longest book of the series so far. And the one which has really taken it out of me.
Don't get me wrong - I loved writing it, but bloody hell, it was difficult at times! Considering the time period over which the book is set, there is so much going on in it!
My beta readers, bless them, have had to put up with gaps between chapters- when I visited the States, had a death in the family, life generally sticking an oar in -but we got there in the end. One of them thinks it's the best thing I've written yet.
Wow...
So when I've finished typing this, I'm going to sit down, format it and submit it to Dreamspinner Press - then get back to Christmas!
Wishing all my readers a very Merry, Happy and Loving Christmas. <3

Collars & Cuffs #6: Make Me Soar - progress report
So Collars & Cuffs#6 is nearing completion.
I know I say this every time a new one comes out, but this one is a bit different...
So many readers wanted to know if Dorian would ever get his story.
Yep, this is it - and we get to see the Dorian that no one has ever seen.
Writing it has been tough, because of the way it begins.
Fire tests and purifies gold, and in this story Dorian goes through fire, only to come out the other side, shaken, irrevocably altered-and into the path of Dom Alan Marchant, who has been watching him for some time.
Alan sets Dorian's feet on a new path, one he'd never considered before, and both men start off on their journey.
Both will be different men at the end of it.
I've been posting extracts as I write in a Facebook group, and so far the reception has been extremely positive.
Watch this space....

Is it me?
Okay, either someone has speeded up the turn of the Earth and we're already in December, or....
Yep. Everywhere I look, I see Christmas.
Music in stores, films on TV, Christmas lights in town...
So, is it me?
The thing is, I'm an absolute Christmas nut, which makes life difficult when you're married to someone who HATES the C word. (To be fair, he suffers from depression and SAD, and this is the worst time of year for him. The clocks go back, daylight is on the decrease, and it's getting colder - add to that, he used to work in retail for many years and saw his childhood love of Christmas gradually eroded as it became a season to worship the new God ka-ching!)
So yeah, Christmas in my house has been a little lacking in joy in recent years.
He does his best, bless him, but I have to make sure I don't put on any of my Christmas movies (I have a collection :) ) too early into December.
But here I am, surrounded by Christmas. And what do I do?
I wrote a Christmas story.
Low on the angst, heavy on the HEA... yeah, the perfect antidote for the winter blues.
Connections is the story of two men who meet on a train bound for Manchester. They were students together fifteen years ago, and they're both on their way to their reunion dinner, a week before Christmas.
You know there's a twist, right?
Yes, back then, they both had the hots for one another, except they were both too shy to do anything about it.
And now?
Let's just say it will be a weekend of revelations, and an ending to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy.
So get in the holiday mood and revel in the glow of Christmas this November.
And spare a thought for those who suffer from depression. It's an illness that you can't see, but it's as bigger a killer as cancer - not that you can compare them.
But it makes you think, doesn't it?

Collars & Cuffs - now and coming up...
So book 5 of the Collars & Cuffs series is out on Friday - Damian's Discipline. It's a little different from the rest of the series: if you've read the reviews here, you'll already know that. Parker Williams & I are excited about this one.
Those readers who've had an advanced review copy have been brilliant about posting their opinions of it, but you can judge for yourself when it's released.
Right now I am writing #6, which is Dorian's story. We first meet Dorian in the first book, An Unlocked Heart, and so many readers wanted to know when his story would be out.
Well, I'm nearly half way there, and this one hurts to write....
You know I like my HEAs - in Dorian's case, there's a world of pain to go through before he gets there, and it's more than he bargained for....

And all because I asked...
Way back in December 2012, I was hosting my first ever chat on Facebook, as part of the release of my first book, Learning to Love: Michael & Sean. Dreamspinner let me take over their page for about three hours - brave people! - and I chatted with readers, ran a caption competition, and lots of other fun stuff.
One of the things I did was to ask questions of the participants. The most interesting replies came as a result of me asking "Is there a storyline that you haven't seen in MM but would love to see?"
I haven't a clue who gave this reply, but it stayed with me: "I'd like to see a story where stepbrothers fall in love."
And that got me thinking....
It wasn't until last year that the idea started becoming pretty insistent. Then one day I'm in the shower, like you do, when suddenly in my head, I'm hearing Marc talking with his housemate as he packs up to go home for the summer after his first year in college. Only he's dreading it. Marc is gay, but not out, and he's been in love with Tony, the young man he's grown up with for the past eight years. Marc's dad Dennis and Tony's mum Marie have been living happily together, along with their combined five kids, except Dennis has now decided to make an honest woman of her.
And Tony? The 18 yr-old Tony is in love with Marc....
Well, that makes things easy, doesn't it?
(Yeah, you've read my books... Uh uh)
And so was born Confetti, Cake & Confessions. I could see the cover in my head, and fortunately for me, my cover designer Meredith Russell is also a mindreader, because she translated it perfectly.
Tony Porter and Marc Powell had lived in the same house for the past eight years, since their single parents moved in together. When Tony’s mother Marie and Marc’s father Dennis decide to tie the knot at last, it should be an occasion of great joy for everyone. Except all Marc can think about is having to spend the next two weeks with the young man he’s been in love with since he was sixteen.
Tony feels so torn about Marc coming home from college. He keeps telling himself that it’s wrong to feel this way about him. After all, in two weeks’ time they’ll be related. So when the two young men are thrown together to prepare for the wedding, tensions rise and discoveries are made.
It’s going to be a very long two weeks, and a wedding that no one will ever forget.

CC&C will be my first novel to be available on pre-order from Amazon, and is due for release toward the end of September.

Writing my first thriller - Exciting!
I woke up this week with an idea for a book. Nothing new there - I have ideas all the time. But this one is different.
This one is a thriller, something I haven't written before.
So what is it about? Here's a sneaky peek...
Fatal Designs
Fatal Designs...
USA: An eight year old boy stands by his father's grave. Daddy was his hero, the one who always made him laugh, who always had the answers. But now on TV people are saying his Daddy was a bad man. Karl jr doesn't understand. The man they describe couldn't be his Daddy. A drug dealer? That is just...wrong.
Seventeen years later, Karl jr is now Travis, living in the UK. His grandparents moved him there when his mother took her own life, unable to stand the aftermath of Karl Denninger's death in a gun battle with the police. Travis studied landscape design and at the age of twenty-five is one of the most sought-after and innovative garden designers in the country. He still keeps in touch with 'Uncle' James, one of his father's two partners in the software company that Karl, James and Matt started after MIT. James sends him gifts and even treats him to holidays.
Travis gets a call to meet up with Benjamin Driscoll, who wants Travis to design a series of gardens for his sprawling country estate. When Travis meets Ben, he likes what he sees. Ben is forty-four and very attractive, and if Travis reads him right, he's gay. Travis is definitely interested now...
But when Travis speaks with James about his new project and shares photos of the grounds, James makes a startling statement - Ben looks like his father's partner, Matt, who disappeared at the time of his death.Okay, so there are differences, but surgery could account for those. And when James starts using his IT skills to hack into police records, what he finds shocks Travis. The bullet that killed his father was not police issue. Someone else killed Karl - and all the evidence points to Matt / Ben.
Now Travis has a mission. He goes to live on the estate belonging to Ben, to see if he can find positive proof that this is the man who killed his father. James is behind him all the way. And if Ben turns out to be the killer, Travis will have his revenge.
And what happens next changes everything.
Twists and turns, betrayal, a chase, secrets and lies.... This promises to be a roller coaster of a story.

First ménage. First fantasy. First paranormal.... A Bond of Three ticks so many boxes
Yeah, this is the story that wouldn't leave me alone.
I've just submitted it to Dreamspinner Press, so watch this space.
I had the idea for this book way back in late spring, 2012. I'd only begun writing in February of that year, and when this one came to me, I wrote down as many notes as I could. That summer, I met up with another author, Chris Quinton and one of the things we discussed was this book. She stared at me when I'd finished going through the plot, and said "You have to write this book."
Wow.
I was going to get around to writing it, eventually. I mean, I have a list of books to write for DSP that keeps getting longer. But this April, my three young men stared talking to me - very loudly. So when Elizabeth North, CEO of DSP asked me which book was speaking loudest, the answer was obvious.
It was time to write A Bond of Three.
Then a funny thing happened.
One of my main characters, Prince Sorran, completely changed the nature of the book, and all of a sudden, the book had more than a dash of paranormal.
I was nervous enough writing my first MMM and fantasy, but now to find it had taken another road entirely was unexpected - and exciting.
So for those who'd like a peek, here's what is (hopefully) on its way maybe early 2015...
In the kingdom of Teruna, the red-cloaked Seruani are the people who teach the Terunans the art of love. Taken from their homes at seventeen to be trained, separated from their families, shunned as outcasts by society, the Seruani are seen as the lowest of the low. So when Prince Tanish falls in love with the Seruan Feyar, the man who took his virginity and the only one to share his bed, he is not about to declare that love. No one can ever know, because the consequences would be too painful to consider for both of them.
When King Beron of Vancor visits Teruna to discuss an alliance between the two kingdoms, into Tanish’s life walks Prince Sorran, a young man who has known neither man nor woman. To Tanish’s horror, a royal engagement is announced between the two princes, with the proviso that the virginal prince is instructed in the art of pleasing his husband-to-be. When King Feolin, Tanish’s father, chooses Feyar to be his instructor, the lovers decide Prince Sorran must be taught that this is to be a marriage in name only. And then their plans go awry, because Sorran is like no one they have ever met.
A resentful prince, unwilling to share his lover.
A resentful Seruan, unwilling to share his prince.
And the shy prince whose very nature sparks changes in the lives of all those around them.
Teruna is about to change forever.
And that's it for now. Fingers crossed....
