We meandered to the backyard, which was on the inter-coastal, champagne flutes in our hands. Although I knew it was a joke, I couldn’t help it. I kept admiring the ring on my finger, pretending it was really my engagement ring. I expected Eric or Jaye to fess up and admit to Eric’s family that our engagement was a joke, but they didn’t. They just kept letting Eric’s family think we were really engaged. Lois kept on beaming, tossing out questions about our engagement. She wanted details. Jaye ended up answering almost all of them for me. After all, if not for Jaye, this “engagement” would not be happening.
“So… when did this happen?” Lois asked.
“Tonight, Mom,” Jaye answered quickly. “Would you believe it happened right before we came over?”
“Really? Wow. Were you expecting it, Hilary?”
“No,” I honestly replied. “It came out of left field.”
“Oh, I love a surprise engagement,” Lois beamed.
“Yeah, it was a surprise all right. Hilary wasn’t the only one that was caught off guard,” Jaye clarified as I tried to keep a straight face.
“How did Marc propose? Did he get down on one knee? Irvin didn’t, and I was so disappointed.”
“Don’t feel bad, Mom, Marc didn’t get down on one knee either. But I think he did get weak in the knees.” Jaye added, “But you asked how he proposed. Let’s just say… I don’t think he planned for it.”
Lois smiled and took a delicate sip of her drink. I still had a stupid smile plastered on my face. I was having a blast. Well, I was until I glanced over and saw the pained look in Marc’s eyes, which was growing more noticeable with every additional comment out of Jaye’s mouth.
He was trying so hard to be a good sport. I could see it was getting increasingly difficult for him to let this charade continue. As he got agitated, so did I. In an instant, the joke stopped being funny. It was sad and hurtful. No matter how hard I pretended, Jaye’s proposal wasn’t real, nor was it going to magically become so. Instead, it started to become crystal clear to me, while looking at Marc’s troubled face, that he had no intention of proposing to me now—or, I feared, ever. Would I be okay always just being his girlfriend?
It’s amazing how devastating disappointment can be, especially when it’s over something that you didn’t really expect to occur in the first place, if you are truly honest with yourself...

Lily had to relocate to New York City closer to her family. Lily is a senior at Columbia University with her best friend Jess! On a normal Monday Lily bumps in to her soul mate....
Brandon Redgrave is wealthy, strong, cocky alpha. He know what he wants and how to get it. Brandon is what you will be described as a SEX GOD. Brandon is fighting some demons of his own. Although Brandon is smart he has been hurt. Once he locks his eyes on Lily Pritchard there was no turning back.
Eva Simone is a new author, her first book titled Intrigued & Enchanted. This is going to be a hard review for me to write, not because I didn't enjoy because it is the complete opposite. Amazing, mesmerizing, outstanding,phenomenal are some words I will describe this master piece. First, Eva writing skills are perfect how she brings this story to life is amazing. It is like watching them on the big screen. I personally need a book to have a great description to fall in love with characters and story. Lily and Brandon once you fall in love with both of them, your emotions will all over the place. I love that I actually understood how Lily thought it was so realistic I could see myself acting the same way. Basically what I am saying Eva structure skills are superb. Her characteristics of Brandon I cant say or type his name with goose bumps going through my whole body. OMG I love. Secondly, the sex scenes will melt your socks off! I often went back to read them a 2 or 3 times. I have told everyone who would possible listen to me to pick up this book. Lastly, I love a good love story, I love all different emotions I get from start to finish. Intrigued & Enchanted did this for me. I will re read this book several times and I give it a 5 star review. I and going crazy that I have to wait for Jess story! Thank you Eva for writing and please do me a favor and keep them coming.x

For the first year after she left, my calls went to her voicemail, allowing me to hear the sound of her voice as if she was right here beside me. Then, one fateful autumn morning, about a year ago, the voicemail didn’t pick up. A robotic voice informed me that the number had been disconnected. I still call, though. It’s been two years. Two years since she walked out of my life. Two years that I have been waiting for her to come back. Two years that I have spent worrying, obsessing over what I could have done differently. Two years since she ripped my heart out and fucking stood on it. Every morning, I fight the urge to fling my cell across the room when I hear that fateful recording.
Rinsing the empty coffee cup, I go to the fridge and grab a Corona from the bottom shelf before making my way out to the front porch with it and a cigarette. My neighborhood is rough, but at the same time, it’s so real. Children play on their front porches, and the local women gather in small tight circles, gossiping about the one that hasn’t yet joined them. Every family on my street has painted their house in various colors of the same cheap ass paint from the local hardware store, with the result that it’s peeling and flaking in wide sections.
A few locals walk by. I raise a hand to the guys. The women who have been unfortunate enough to end up in my bed all walk by, eyeing me quickly then rushing past. I can never figure out if they truly hate me, or if they just wish they were riding my dick again, and they’re so mad because they aren’t. The ones that I have yet to conquer walk by more slowly, stealing glances at my bare chest. To those, I offer a small smile, always keeping my options open.
But for the last two years, this neighborhood has been a painful reminder of Shana’s absence. We’d been friends since middle school. Back then, she hadn’t grown into her breasts or her face, but once she did, she was beautiful. We began dating in high school. She was my first kiss. Right here on this porch, in the fucking love seat. We carved our names into a heart on the tree that bordered between my house and the neighbor’s, like lovesick children. Heart, arrow, and all. A few months ago, I had ceremoniously taken my knife and gouged out the offending reminder. I was drunk and regretted it the next day. My bed, which has now been relegated to entertaining random women, was where we lost our virginity to each other.

Review: 5 StarsI received the book from the author for an honest review. If I could I would have given more than the required 5 Stars. Remarkable, captivating, spellbound and magnificent are only some of the words that I can use to describe my reading experience. This book just grabs your attention and holds it the entire time, keeping you glued to every page with its compelling story and mesmerizing plot. The author never deviate, but keeps your interest, his descriptions of worlds and alien species alive and believable. The way the author draws you in, makes you feel that you are part of the solution to this Alien Armageddon; this evation that wants to destroy our way of life for power and rule. Written in the first person, you instantly connect with Ambra Dawn and her quest to save earth and all its occupants. Her story so compelling as you witness first hand the torture, the pain and her own acceptance of who she is. Daughter of Time is a fitting title that describes Ambra very well. Deformed by humans she found herself sold as a slave to aliens, removing her from her home, her family and earth. Her gift a magnet that opens doors in the most unusual ways, but also takes her beyond what she could bare at times.Every scene in the book gives you a better glimpse of her experiences, her solitude, loosing her eyesight and stepping into the role as a reader. Sometimes you forget that you are dealing with a young adult, still 17 years old as her maturity signals her role perfectly, forgetting that she is so very young.
I must admit that when the author asked me to review the book, the titles had my attention. Interesting names that says so much but reveals nothing, enticing you to read the book and discover the secrets within. A series I can recommend wholeheartedly, not only for science gigs but every reader that loves a good plot, that likes the rhyme of words, the enticing imagination of new worlds and the compelling writing of a talented author. The book have so many aspects in it that it would speak to every reader, young or old. With great characters placed at important stages through out, all forming part of this remarkable story. Some scenes were intense, some filled with awe and some just holding your attention purely for the awesome writing.I loved the quotes in the beginning of each chapter, it entice and say in short what the chapter is all about. Drawing you in to discover the next part of her journey. Really an excellent piece of work.

Book 2 in the Daughter of Time trilogy: A love story and sci-fi epic about the beautiful and terrible destiny of profoundly star-crossed lovers with a galaxy's fate in their hands.

I really loved these books. The author's absolute flair with words as he painted the love between the two main characters, Ambra Dawn, and Captain Nitin Ratava, with so much depth and passion that you feel like a third person most of the time when they met. As if you are invading their privacy. I have never read a science fiction book with this much romance in it that it really grasps your attention all through its pages.
The turmoil of their choices as they accept this love just to be together, kept you turning the pages. The love that this man had for this deformed young woman was something you don't witness often. When they finally meet and was introduced to her world his devotion became just clearer. But yet he was a strong man with his own unique characteristics that qualifies to be her lover and friend.
Adding the plot of the New Earth that is still in danger and had to be rescued from the ever dreadful Dram, you were totally lost in the story itself. As the story unfolds and you become involved with it, you could not help but be fascinated with this Universe he was describing, with so much color and life that you are in awe yourself as they go from new planet to new planet, even the Milky Way, riding the Orbs in the quest: it all becomes so alive right in front of you.
I liked the new cast of characters as well, with some of the older ones still there, giving it more substance. But I must say I really liked Moore's character the best. His wit was just something that made the story very realistic.
With the eminent threat of Dram, the Anti and Shadows a new threat surfaced as well. One amongst their own that left them with many riddles as calamity follows them wherever they went to investigate. Time was of the essence.
A fascinating tale of endurance, and love infused with science fiction at its best. Really a keeper to add to your shelf. Again, the quotes was a wonderful edition to each chapter that keeps you curiosity, wondering what will happen next.
Author BioI’m a biomedical researcher who writes novels “on the side” in a variety of genres. I was born in the Midwest. My mother worked as a clinical psychologist, and my father was a professor of Romance languages at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. I have pursued diverse interests over the course of my life, including science, music, drama, and writing. My academic path focused on science, and I received a degree in physics from Oberlin College in 1992, and a PhD in biochemistry from Cornell University in 1999.
