EXCERPT:
He's going to be my husband.
Holy fuck!I have so many questions and I'm afraid to ask them all and look like a desperate waif greedy for attention and control.
"You're going to bubble over and short circuit if you don't ask those questions on your mind," Justin says suddenly. "I can see them all churning around in your head waiting for you to spit them out. It's not healthy, or fair, to keep them all in."
I lower my head. He's right, of course, but I'm still worried about his reaction. Just asking me was such a huge leap for him.
"Okay," he says through a deep breath. "I'll guess my way through."
He studies my face, looking straight through my eyes. I can almost feel him inside me rummaging around through my thoughts. "You want to know when; if I want a long or short engagement."
"That's the most obvious," I tease.
Justin shrugs his shoulders. "Of course it is; did you think I was going to read your mind?"
Really, my snort-laugh did not need to be that loud, but just like Melissa and Trisha, Justin seems to only love it when it happens, and I've grown used to it in front of him.
"I'll wait if you want, but I'd rather it be soon. I don't want you to be able to get away from me so easily once you realize I'm not good enough for you," he says, his large arm holding me just a little tighter as if I might decide to leave him now.
"That will not happen; you’re perfect for me. And I would like to marry you sooner too," I tell him. "As soon as this Marker businesses is done, we'll start planning."
Justin agrees with a nod. "We can get married just as quickly as we can put together whatever kind of wedding you want. What do you want, Charity? Huge and elegant with hundreds of guests, or small and cozy with just our closest loved ones?"
He rolls over quickly, balancing himself on his elbows above me. "I will give you whatever you want; all you have to do is tell me." His beautiful face dips closer to mine. "I want to give you everything. Tell me what you want." He moves his mouth toward mine but pulls away just as I expect to feel him, studying me with my lips pursed and my eyes lightly closed. "You're so beautiful; I love looking at you. I never feel as real in this world as I do when I'm with you. I'm only relevant because of you."
Finally his lips crash into mine and the taste of his mouth ignites my passion. The strength of his impressive lips sends chills down my arms as I move my legs from under him, opening them for him to fall comfortably in between.
Slowly I move my hands up his body, tenderly enjoying him and his deliberate movements, the tilting of his head so that our mouths fit like a puzzle, a dangerously strong hand gently moving my hair, his well-controlled hips grinding into mine as if to some music I cannot hear. Both of us have been affected by the romance of the day and we are longing for a deep consummation of our love.

I’m a COO in my technology-based "day job,” which requires a mix of technical and creative writing for both internal and client-facing materials, but it was not satisfying my artistic spirit. Writing the “Charity” series has been absolutely fulfilling and exciting.
My favorite writing takes place on my phone while lying on the Southernmost Beach in Key West, where I try to go at least twice a year.

A Good Girl by Mary Anne Edwards Series: The Charlie McClung Mysteries, #2Genre: MysteryCover Designer: Jasmin WoodworthRelease Date: September 23, 2014

For Charlie McClung, going home to Virginia with Marian was supposed to be a joyous occasion, but upon arrival at his childhood home, he’s met with a note instead of his family.
“Don’t worry, Love, we’re all okay. Come to the shop. A dead girl was found in an armoire delivered just now. Huggies, Ma”Charlie is quickly recruited to help solve the murder of a young girl who was on the path to become a nun. The suspects begin to mount as Charlie delves deep into the girl’s life, revealing a sordid and ugly side of the town’s good girl.

Luke pointed to a man sitting at the end of the counter chatting up a giggling blonde girl. “That’s Scottie the Hottie. Looks like he does like them young.”
Charlie eyed the dark-haired man. He didn't see anything special about him. Looked like someone who could play the part of a pirate in a movie. But there must be something about him women liked. Even old Dora, who was old enough to be his mother, seemed be drawn to Scottie. Since they walked in, she’d wiped the same spot on the counter over and over with her eyes glued on Scottie. Charlie smirked. He’d never understand what women found attractive in a man.
Luke sat to the left of Scottie and Charlie sandwiched him in by sitting at the end of the counter to the right. “Say, Scottie, do you know who we are?” Luke asked.
The giggling girl rolled her eyes. “Can I get you two anything?”
“Two large Dr Peppers to go,” replied Luke without looking at her.
Scottie rolled a toothpick between his teeth. “I've seen you around town. You’re a cop,” he said to Luke then turned to Charlie and pointed the toothpick. “Hmm, you must be that big shot detective everyone is talkin’ about. Am I right?” Scottie chuckled, “What can I do for you gentleman today? Need a ride somewhere?”
Charlie was not amused. “Yeah, you can come with us to the police station.”
Scottie’s smile froze. “What? Why? I mean are you joking me?”
Charlie’s face hardened. “No. We have some questions concerning the murder of Darla Jean Rogers. You can answer them here or in the privacy of the station. Your choice.”

I am active in Sisters in Crime Atlanta Chapter and sit on the advisory board of Rockdale Cares, Inc., a non-profit advocacy group for the developmentally challenged.
I began writing in high school but not seriously until 1999. I write traditional mysteries and my biggest influences are Agatha Christie, Anne Perry, Caroline Graham, Elizabeth Peters, and my family. I have had short stories published in Evangel and The Associate Reformed Presbyterian magazines. I have published a collection of eclectic short stories titled, My Favorite Work of Art.
My first manuscript, Useless Beauty, is waiting for me to breathe life into it. It was put on hold because my second manuscript, Brilliant Disguise, was begging to be written. It is the first in the Detective Charlie McClung mysteries. “Brilliant Disguise” was released on January 21, 2014. The second book, “A Good Girl”, was released on September 23, 2014, and the third book, “Criminal Kind”, will be released in April, 2015. There are seven more to follow in the series.

Book: WiltedAuthor: Mia MichelleGenre: Contemporary Romance - A Rose of Thorne Novella
(can be read entirely standalone)

SynopsisLike any little girl, I’d grown up believing in prince charming and happily ever after. After all, my parent’s story is probably more epic than any fairytale in existence. Thing is, this little girl grew up and learned very quickly that all of that nonsense is nothing but a fucking joke. Love heals, but love also hurts. God knows I’ve been hurt more times than I ever care to admit. It’s what makes me the way I am. By all counts, I shouldn’t be this way. I have two parents who have been in love since they were fifteen years old. I’d pretty well given up on the idea, settling for one-night stands instead. It is a lot easier than giving your heart to someone who will never return it in the end.And then, it happened. Nikolas Thorne happened, that is. He’d walked into my life and knocked me on my ass. I knew without a shadow of a doubt he was the only one for me, but I also know you can’t make someone love you. And just as I’d predicted, he’d left me…alone and gutted. I’ll never forgive him for doing this to me. I’ll never forgive him for making me fall in love. I’ll never forgive him for leaving me… wilted.

Author BioMia fell in love with the literary world and began putting her active imagination to pen and paper at the age of six. Over the years, she has filled up numerous shelves with her notebooks and journals of her favorite stories. Twelve years ago, Mia began drafting The Thorne Series and through encouragement of a close friend, decided to finally take the leap of faith to bring her dream to life. She openly admits to having a hopeless infatuation with her Kindle and suffers from the one-click book addiction (No intervention required). Mia is currently a stay at home mom who has mastered the fine art of making a PB&J sandwich in between laundry and shuttling kids to ballet and swimming. In her spare time (“What spare time?” She laughs), she enjoys photography, traveling, and having a girls night out with her pals. She enjoys the simple things in life, such as sleeping more than 3 hours per night and 10 minute showers without being interrupted by children yelling “mommy” from the other side of the bathroom door. Mia Michelle resides in Tennessee with her soul mate and husband and their 2 beautiful young children.

Excerpt“How many women did you have sex with while you were there?” It was the third time Dr. Combs had asked me that question. And for the third time I wanted to avoid it. I had just gotten out of that hell, and I still had the bullet hole in my chest to prove it, but it didn’t stop my boss on pushing the psychiatric evaluation. Dr. Combs cleared her throat, and my jaw clenched. I didn’t even want to admit the number to myself even though I could se every one of the girls in my head. Kat, the red-headed braggart who thought she owned every man who walked into the retreat. Gabby, the indignant curly haired brunette. Raini a gorgeous but frail girl who was transferred in right after I went undercover. I had feared that one more night in Ross’ bed would kill her before her first week was up. Alley, a blond sweetheart who belonged to Miles, my unconventional friend. Silver, the girl who simultaneously ruined and saved me. She was the only reason I was alive, and the only reason I had what was left of my soul—except she wasn’t real. Like my undercover alias, Kirk, she was forged from necessity and determination. And somewhere out there Rose was learning to live her own life again. At least that’s what I hoped. The day after I was shot in the raid on the “sex retreat”, my superiors had me transferred to another hospital and put under protective custody until they were sure I was safe. I was fairly positive they were more concerned that any real threat to my life would come from me, since there were very few people who knew of my undercover involvement in the operation. The only company I was allowed was Dr. Combs, my new shrink. I didn’t want a shrink. I wanted the woman who saved me—the only person who stood a chance of bringing me any kind of peace. The woman I could never have.

THE EARLY YEARS TRAILER:
Excerpts from Prim and Proper
Sean pulled off his boxers and added them to the pile of clothes. He smiled at Prim and inquired as to whether or not she wanted him to do a 360 degree turn. She shook her head and asked seriously if she could touch his skin. He nodded.
Prim rose from the couch and came to stand in front of him. She ran her hands along his shoulders, chest, and belly and examined his tattoo. Putting her arms around his waist, she asked about the colorful wings, what they meant, and why he’d gotten them on his chest and not his back. As he slipped his arms around her, Sean hoped he didn’t come on the spot.
“I had the tattoo done when I was sixteen. I was really struggling emotionally but knew I couldn’t let things get to me. It wasn’t only my future at stake; it was Mom’s, Dad’s, and Debra’s, too. I had to keep everything going. If I didn’t, then the consequences would’ve been disastrous. So, I decided to do something for myself that would remind me every day that life might be a bitch but I couldn’t give up and break or it’d be much worse for everyone else I held close to my heart. I found a tattooist I liked, lied about my age, and explained to him what I wanted. I’ve looked at that tattoo every day for the last fourteen years, and it makes me appreciate that I’ve never let anything break my wings.”
“Did it hurt to have the tattoo done?”
“Yes. I knew it would, but I didn’t care. I needed one thing that was just for me.”
Prim looked up at him and asked if she could touch his hips and legs. He told her she could touch him anywhere she wanted.

My 4 Star Review
I received the book from the touring host for an honest review.
The author had a very original plot to the normal contemporary romance. She has written the book with much compassion and thoughtfulness as we learned more about Prim Aurora and Sean Proper. Two unique people, each with their own fears and challenges that made a beautiful couple. They complimented each others shortcomings, becoming stronger as individuals and was intend to work through the obstacles they faced, together.Prim's past played a huge role within the book, her relationship with Sean and the rest of the people in Aurora. Fear overshadowed most of her decisions but her support system was excellent as they helped her to confront and overcome it. Damaged from an early age, she had to literally struggle through the lies and burdens placed on her to find the happiness she so obviously needed and deserved. Finding truths that at first startled her but yet freed her from the past's hold on her. This affected Sean greatly, he was the most caring person, that really tried to fix things for her as they discovered more of her fears and the lies that held her prisoner for so long. Battling with his own problems but yet remained loyal to those he loved. His relationship with his parents was an evidence of his care, devotion and love. His had a fitting name that described him perfectly. A deeply emotional book with a few important messages within its pages. The one that stood out the most for me was the developmental challenges people faced, peoples reactions towards it, and how we handled it as a society. As already mentioned, the supporting characters were really very well thought out and fitted perfectly within each scene; each playing their role with the greatest of care. Caleb and Remy, the two men that really got your interest was everything to this couple. Cementing the relationships even better in their specific role. At the end it was a very touching story, and one I can recommend to readers that's looking for something more than just the normal romance.

EXCERPT:
With a flip of his hand, my chin is turned up and my mouth is a pant away from his. Just the briefest touch of his lips slides over mine. I tug on my bound hands to grab onto him, but his hold is strong.
“Ask me, Noelle.” His forehead brushes mine and then falls to my shoulder.
My teeth are right next to his ear. I want to nip at it. “Ask you what?”
Tilting his head to the side, he sprinkles my neck with gentle kisses as his hand slides down my arm and back up. He aggressively grabs my jaw.
“To kiss you. I assure you I’ll take it slow.” He promises, lifting his gaze to mine.
His thumb brushes over the soft skin of my cheek and then pushes down onto my lip, unfastening it from the other.
“Please,” I plead. “Kiss me, slowly.”
My hands still bound behind my back, my neck inclined to meet his face. My heart is beating a mile a minute, and my arousal is dripping down my thigh. He unhurriedly places a kiss on my lips. A shockwave shoots down to my toes, and I struggle against his hold, wanting to push him into me.
The kiss is earth shattering. I can do nothing but move my mouth in sync with his, and even though it was slow, he ends it quickly. He rips his mouth away from me and drops my hands. I circle them around to get the feeling back in them and stare at the Adonis in front of me.
“I can do slow, Noelle. For now.”
