GHOSTBUSTERS ECTO 1, Chip n’ Ball, Vegas, F1 & Moebius ART!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! Super exited today because Fireball has finally done his NUMBER #1 requested SKETCH in the last 2 months! And that’s this awesome GHOSTBUSTERS ECTO 1!! This super cool rendition has the team heading out from Ghost Central to take on the EVIL SPIRITS! Check out the all-new MUGS & CANVAS PRINTS, and build your Collection!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Ecto-1 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance/Hearse is a rare and iconic vehicle, with only around 400 ever built. And weighed nearly three and a half tons!! It was a behemoth, stretching 21 feet long, 8 feet high, 7 feet wide. Dan Aykroyd originally envisioned Ecto-1 as a sinister-looking, all-black hearse with purple and green lights, but the white and red color scheme was chosen due to the many nighttime scenes. 

And… today on PLANET FIREBALL… Does Disney need a new show called “ CHIP N’ THE BALL?” Only if it’s got a cool car in it! Plus, the boys in VEGAS rocked that sh*t outta that town for SEMA! VEGAS MUGSHOT! We’re you a fan of Dan Tanna?? We were, and we want his PAD in SoCal! (Hey, there’s an idea…) CHECK OUT THE MUGS… baby! NEW COMMISSIONS! Fireball whipsnapped these two SKETCHES for clients on AUSTRALIA & OREGON . The GILLEN F1 & the 1982 GMC SIERRA! Check ’em out in the Garage and then get Fireball to DO YOURS!! BEHIND THE SCENES! In the early days of Ghostbusters, CVS (Cinema Vehicle Services) and Fireball restored the Ecto 1, but not before it sat for a long time in the shop. Poor Hearse…T-MINUS  only a couple days before Fireball launches his next COLORING BOOK! VINTAGE CARS is gonna be chock fulla Classic Coolness to Color! INCOMING!!!! And lastly, this great piece by Jean Giraud MOEBIUS for the film THE FIFTH ELEMENT , the ECTO 1 MUGSHOT and Fireball’s METAL JUICE for the film SPEED RACER! BEST OF SHOW! DID YOU KNOW?? The iconic DeLorean Time Machine from “Back to the Future” was designed by a team, including Fireball Pals concept artist Ron Cobb, storyboard artist Andrew Probert, and special effects consultant Michael Fink, who helped shape the car’s look and the flux capacitor’s name. Cobb designed the car in a week, envisioning the interior as a professor’s secondhand parts store. Production Designer Larry Paull previously helped designed vehicles for “Blade Runner” and “Knight Rider” before working on the DeLorean for “Back to the Future.”

Today… on PLANET FIREBALL… Fireball has done many shows over the years for DISCOVERY, TLC, HISTORY & SPEED. Which one was your favorite? For us… it was “WORLD’S MOST EXPENSIVE RIDES!” But what’s next?? One thing is for sure… it’ll be some MONKEY BUSINESS!!!

MOVIE CAR of the Day isn’t a Movie Car at all… but a GI JOE JET SKI! Back in the day, the shop was filled with cars being worked on… And this Custom Jet Ski had to sit outside due to limited space. And so did something else! But tomorrow… Fireball WILL MAKE UP FOR THAT HERE IN THE GARAGE!!

DID YOU KNOW?? Jiro Osamu is the Batman of Japan, a crimefighting member of Batman Incorporated and protector of Japan. In 1966, the Batman TV series starring Adam West prompted a Batman craze in Japan. In response to this, the shōnen magazine Shōnen King and its publisher Shōnen Gahōsha licensed the rights to make their own Batman stories, with the full consent of the original Batman publisher, DC Comics!

Today on PLANET FIREBALL… the Legendary TONY CURTIS, known for his role in “Some Like It Hot,” had a passion for classic cars, including the 1929 Duesenberg Model J, and owned a 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupe. DID YOU KNOW?? Dan Tanna, the private detective from the 1978 TV series “Vegas,” famously drove a flashy red 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible, and the show used two different T-Birds, one for close-up shots and another for stunts. The “hero” T-Bird, used for close-up shots, was chosen for its pristine, unmodified condition, showcasing its classic looks. The other T-Bird was modified to withstand the demands of action sequences, including chase scenes and quick maneuvers. The 1967 yellow Corvette that Tanna drove in the pilot episode was destroyed by fire!

Today, we slam the accelerator with RACER X SHOOTING STAR ART, THE STARSHIP ENTERPRISE and THE HUTCHMOBILE from Starsky & Hutch! Super cool art for your Garage Walls, Studio or anywhere in the house! Plus… the Mugs make your Joe GO!!

DID YOU KNOW?? The iconic USS Enterprise design, featuring a saucer-shaped primary hull, cylindrical secondary hull, and outriding engine nacelles, was conceived by Matt Jefferies and established the core ship design for the Star Trek franchise. Walter “Matt” Jefferies, the model’s principal designer, created several design ideas for the Enterprise to fit the requirements of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. To support his final design suggestion… Jefferies created a rough 4-inch balsa and cardboard prototype. A 3-foot “pilot” model of solid wood was built by model-maker Richard C. Datin, and it resulted in the final 11-foot model that is now in the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum! Wow!

DID YOU KNOW?? Tatooine is a hot desert planet located in the Outer Rim (if it’s still there!), a region of the galaxy far removed from its core. It had three moons, Ghomrassen, Guermessa, and Chenini. Tatooine orbits twin suns, Tatoo I and Tatoo II. According to Jawa folklore… the desert known as the Dune Sea was once a true ocean. It’s also is known for its twin suns, the birthplace of the Legendary Anakin Skywalker and its role as a hub for smugglers and criminals! Particularly under the Hutts’ influence! Yikes!

DID YOU KNOW?? Schwinn bikes have a rich history, from their beginnings as a family business to becoming an iconic American brand, with fun facts including the company’s shift to motorcycles and then back to bicycles. Ignaz Schwinn, a German-American bicycle designer, co-founded the Schwinn Bicycle Company in 1895 with Adolph Arnold. The iconic Schwinn Sting-Ray, with its high-rise handlebars, banana seat, and racing slick tire, was created in the 1960s, inspired by kids customizing their bikes to look like motorcycles. Hollywood stars like Dorothy Lamour became early ambassadors for Schwinn bikes, helping reestablish the brand as a market leader. The last U.S.-made Schwinn bike rolled off the production line in 1982.

Before he was the Beaver, Jerry Mathers was Little Ricky on ‘I Love Lucy!’ Well, for one scene at least… An uncredited Mathers appeared on Lucy’s lap in “Ricky’s Old Girlfriend,” when she dreams that her husband has left her for his old squeeze, Carlota Romero. The two beg for money outside a theater, as Ricky and his new bride drop coins in their cups. The season-three episode aired in 1953, four years before Beaver kicked off!
